  1. ok then, for the sake of not arguing, LOL I believe that the MJ in the pic dosen't look that good. not saying it dosne't preform that good. but different stroke for different folks I reckon.
  2. I would like to avoid apring over anyway and rather to just have a set made and stay spring under... I am really worried about reliability and axle wrap with the spring over. I tried to find the kit to link it here off ebay but I no longer see it on there.. I was just curious about if anyone else had seen it, I didn't think that it looked as though it would be to safe.
  3. I saw on Ebay just the other day and bolt on spring over kit. has anyone else seen these or used one? I would like to lift 4 or 6 inches but don't really want to go rusty's and I am having a hard time find anything else.
  4. see, that pic goes to show that it looks goofy.
  5. nice MJ but I for one completly disagree with this build. no jeep ever has or ever will look right LOWERED!. I think that you should build it up pre-runner style. You would still be able to give it your own personal touches and what not and still make a really nice truck out of it, please tell me that you have at least considered it.
  6. find a street sign or 2 and bolt them in.... much cheappers, and just as good for a beater truck. once you have that much rust you are never going to totally get rid of it. your new floor pans are going to out live the truck.
  7. I know that everyone has a horror story or 2 about the dana 35, but why do we never here about the dana 30's? Are the front axels in our comanches and xj's really just that much stronger?
  8. I have noticed serveral MJ's in the locla paper here, (in KY) but like some I just started my truck driving career and can't afford to grab one yet. the last one i had, I love, completly stock with a 2.8 (i know I know) and I ran 31's on it with no lift, yes they rubbed. but it was fun and now I am looking to get ahold of another. hopefully soon.

    Factory Dually??

    cool.
  10. In my opinion, it would be better to hand up the extra cash and get like new ones... I know what you mean about the used "rustic" look, but face it, a deals a deal, and you want tires this expencive to last as long as possible. If the extra money is not easily come by, then offer a better offer on the more used tires.... Also if you are not EXTREMELY hard when wheeling, I don't see where 33's would hurt your dana 44 at all... aside from wearing down faster on the road...
  11. I know all about the 3.4 swap... but it is like pulling @$$ hairs out of a wild cat trying to find one around here.. 4.3's are a dime a dozen... AA makes motor mounts and bellhousings for the swap.
  12. I live near Elizabethtown Ky. curious if anyone wanted to come help me swap out my 2.8 for yet another 2.8, only cause the price was right for now.... FREE!
  13. I plan on swapping in a 4.3 and a dana 44 when time and money permits..
  14. true statments pete. if you don't mind me asking, rocker guards are among my list of upgrades, are your's custom of off the shelf?
  15. as you can see, I am off to a slow start with a blown up motor, trashed rear end, and I haven't gotten all my rims switched yet... I am doing about 1 a day by hand..... My goal is to just build a capable beater with as little money in it as I can.... more pics to come.
  16. I understand the argument of articulation, but thoughs of us on a tight budget have to do what it take to survive.... for now Pingpong, where might I find a picture of your mj?
  17. I am new to this site, but I must say, LOL you all must have money to burn buying lifts and all. I run 31's on 15x8' with 3 inch back spacing. and have very minimal if any rubbing.... of course I have a swazaw to..... the posibilitys are endless..
  18. thank you very much
  19. I doin't know about your wheel issue, but I do know, that they should not rub anything, try a rim with 3 or 4 inches backspacing...
