  1. I'm still doubting, even at 400 crank hp, that our brick will be able to hit 186mph. When you consider the fact that a 430ish hp C6 Corvette tops out at about 185. Obviously, the aerodynamics favor the C6 majorly in comparison.

  3. No, it's legit....Very legit. It's Jacobs over at Jeeps unlimited and Jeep Forum. Good guy that definitely knows his stuff. I've been following his build for a while  And honestly, come on guys, an 1/8th mile track? Stock 4.0 MJ's would have zero problems running low 10's in the 1/8th mile. A Comanche is far from too light in the rear with the proper suspension setup and tires out back which you can clearly see he has. The Comanche is not a bad vehicle to set up for the drag strip, as evidenced here.

  5. I actually installed an airbox off of a 2000 XJ, so judging by that it should be fine. I think it's just the clips that are different, as the bottom section of those boxes on 87-90 are different than 91+, XJ or MJ. At least in my experience. what if i have a renix motor? will the one of quadratec work? No idea, but I would assume as I mentioned the only difference being the bottom of the box. So if that's it, you could do what I did and pick one up off a 91+ 4.0 at a junkyard and go from there.

  7. Um...hate to repeat myself again...but XJ and MJ intake systems, much as everything under the hood are IDENTICAL year for year. A 4.0L HO designed air intake is not going to work on a Renix 4.0, bottom line, XJ or MJ. I actually installed an airbox off of a 2000 XJ, so judging by that it should be fine. 9. XJ and MJ airboxes are the same. How is the flow in comparison to stock, though?

  11. usually with a new filter this is normal. one should clean a filter before it is put in with an airbrush or airfilter cleaner. if you can find a K&N setup for an XJ (Cherokee) it will work. maybe try some tuner brands or go onto summitracing maybe jegs I cleaned and oiled it reguarly and had it on the jeep for 2yrs...and noticed it everytime i pulled the filter off and went on NAXJA and read some reviewed and now ill stay away from them...AirRaid is a better filter anyways IMO Does AirRaid make a drop in for the stock box? Do other companies make drop-in's as well that flow better?

  13. Yup...in fact sand is about the only offroading I do in my comanche. I simply air down my Street oriented 235/70/15's to about 20psi (I don't have a way to fill them back up before getting out onto the road) and away I go. I've only been stuck once and that was trying to back up, uphill with my tires foolishly at 33-35psi. (tis how I learned why NOT to run high psi in sand :wall: ) Smooth, wide tires mixed with the comanche's light weight makes it an excellent sand vehicle, even with my 2wd.
  14. Looks good man! Great work on a much needed site uplift I'm sticking to the subgreen as it just feels right for this site
  15. No, to be honest first you need a suspension and tire setup actually worth cutting up your MJ for.
  16. Perhaps so. I've just never seen a similar mounting style before. Guess I'll just go look for myself. Should just pop out with a screw driver...then slide the new one down till it locks.
  17. A 3" exhaust on a 2.5 4banger comanche? That's a huge waste and will do wayy more harm than good. 2 1/2 is even too much on a 2.5L
  18. Probably for the GC's much more luxurious ride and interior
  19. As much as I love the 4.0...it is extremely sluggish in that vehicle. The grand is just too heavy for it to move out of it's own way. And the gas mileage suffers for that exact reason...the V8's get about the same mileage and put out a lot more performance. is the v8 as reliable? seems like no matter who i ask everyone says the 4.0 is one of the best engines ever built I highly doubt it...but I can't comment because I've never owned a Grand Cherokee. So therefore I've never driven it' vast array of V8's offered. 4.7L...4.7L HO....5.2L....5.9L. Those 4.7HO's and 5.9L's are pretty potent though

  21. I've had 19" on them due to the previous owner and although they covered a majority of the view, they were a bit on the sluggish side. Throw on some bosch microedge 18"'s and they picked up the pace quite a bit and still do a good job. I might try 17" next time to increase the speed a bit more, but I'm definitely happy with the 18's.
  22. Why is everyone using such small wiper blades? Isn't stock 18" ?
