  1. First 4x4 show. Was a big hit.
  2. Picked up a donor AMC 401 from this 78 Wagoneer (64K miles) for the camper. Next is the new axles off of a Ford F450, and matching rims (Finally). Transmission is a 700R4 and transfer case is an Atlas G2 pro. Drive lines will be built local in Reno. Pics will be posted up here first as I don't think I will include anything on Jeepin4on4's YouTube channel for the public. The only public showing of the camper will be here in Carson City on May 6th at the 775 off road 4x4 show in its original condition.
  3. New Update 3-21-23 The old gal officially passed her Vehicle Inspection and Verification today, permanent registration coming on the 16th of April. A couple of pics to look at. Manufacture: New Horizon RV Paramount, California Make: New Horizon Model: Nova Star Body Type: Mini Motor Home
  4. This will be the official build page for the MJ Motorhome. Progress pictures will be posted as work progresses. Before and After so check back through out the months ahead.
  5. Thanks, I will look into D60s
  6. My old 91 is in need of a build.
  7. I found some more pictures to look at. Shower and toilet was removed for storage by previous owner, I will need to remodel this area The drive to its new home
  8. So Pete, My vin is the one you posted is 1JTMR65U3HT106490 Mine 1JTMR65U5HT106491 ^ ^ Any Idea what the build number is 1 to 5? Only 5 made I hear. Where are the other 2 located? Also, Nevada DMV is having a fit trying to register it as a Motor home, California recognized it as an MH it was registered there when it was sold to me. AAA insured it as a "Historic Classic Motor home, RV (Value by an appraiser for insuring is undisclosed due to heckling, and the monthly insurance cost is well into the triple digits, wife said no more Jeeps!) Any historic info will help. I would like to tear into it when I get back home but a lot of feed back from folks say to leave it original and put back into it what was taken out (a restoration). The Toyota class MH after restoration seem to have a cult following and prices hover in the 30k range. A lot of options out there for Toyota MH. Just looking for some solid feed back. Retiring from Substation work end of year, so I will have plenty of Comanche build time now that I have 6 MJs, 5 part rigs, and a Manchehouse. Thanks,
  9. Thanks everyone, I will keep you posted on when I start on the "White Whale" I'm off to Georgia and South Carolina next week for a few months again, some more Substation and Utility Power Plant maintenance work. April will be the next post on it.
  10. I bought it just because no one else did and I couldn't just let it sit there any longer. BTW the rear is a Dana 60 from what i can tell. I will dig into it and post up what i find. The 242 I6 is very anemic to say the least, (Its currently a Highway going down hill flat land rig). Tomorrow it will go to the shop for a quick inspection then wrapped up for the winter. I'll tear into it this spring after the snow and post up a bunch of pictures.
  11. Pete Did that work?
  12. The drive over Sherman Pass in Mono County California to Carson City Nevada did prove that with only 83k original miles on the Inline 6, the old gal was severely under powered. As California Title reads: Class is AH, Body Type is MH Cab: 1987 AMC Comanche Class 1D Laredo package, electric windows and locks Engine 242 MFI Transmission 4 speed auto 4x4 (still researching the transfer case) Front Dana 30 Rear Dana 60 Cab forward including the frame is Factory as far as I can tell. Rear of Cab to the bumper is where it gets very interesting at the least. Custom 35 gallon fuel tank (works perfect, gauge works) Frame is stretched behind the cab and at the rear (it retains part of the OEM spare tire frame work) The frame is beefed up to hold what I can tell is an 8 stack of leaf springs (SUA) The rear duels are 8 lug, the front is the standard 4.5x5 with a wheel spacer and another rim with the tire, Front and rear are different. The camper part is a typical 1980' style Winnebago Warrior (what i could find at least very similar) It will take several months before any work starts on it because I have another Comanche and my XJ that are first. The build process will be posted in CC to keep everyone who might be interested of the progress, and I might show the build on my YouTube Channel.
  13. I have whats left and one day it will return to the road as a flat bed. It's a good thing there are a lot of Cherokees out there to get almost everything needed. Everyone must keep the MJ's from Kody's chop shop, lol
  14. Nice work. The truck looks great! Enjoy it...
  15. Nice MJ. Have fun fun fun with it...
  16. I only have 2 that you can make out, out of service and just wall art now.
  17. Thanks again eaglescout526
  18. Billybob_jeep I have a highly modified 400 going into a 91MJ. Engine just came back from getting punch out .040 and decked. We preset fitted the block and decided to modify the frame (wider) and also lowered the engine mounts to accommodate the E-force supercharger. However, my question is did you run duel exhaust? and if so how did you maneuver the transmission cross arm? Thanks,
  19. !988 Pioneer short box 4.0 5speed 4x4 Bucket seats Under 200K miles
  20. Great, Thanks MJ team! @Rylee144, From the vague info i got when i picked it up your right, it was at a garage sale ($100.00) and they had a lot of dirt bike stuff. Found this one in Riverside California, closer to Palm Springs i think. They probably cut/fused the logo into the arm rest. It also has custom seat belts similar to harness type with the quick release.
  21. I dug this one out of the back today and put it in the shop. I forgot about what the interior looked like then i saw the hocky stick arm rest, after wiping off the 5 years of dirt i found this embedded label. Anyone have them? If so info would be helpful (can't find it on the web) Thanks and I'll add more pictures as I clean her up. Unknown what build this one will end up as, the bed is very rough and damaged.
  22. VIN is 514. 5th eliminator, i will add the others later...
