Not right now I don't, that's what I plan on putting on my MJ. I have thought about getting a set of Humvee beadlocks and the 36's that go with them, but I really don't wanna go down in tire size. 8)

Yeah I saw too where the washer between the nuts question already got answered. I have a pick set that's very handy just for that. I have a couple questions. First, what is the measurement of a waggy front tierod/draglink set up? And before anyone asks I want a wide track version. I need to know the measurement from knuckle to knuckle to see it it'll fit in a Chevy 44 front. I don't have the money for a right side flat top knuckle and a high steer arm to hook up my steering and I don't want to rig it because of safety. If it'll work I'll be hunting one of those then. Next question. For those that have done a leaf spring conversion can you bolt the rear of the front spring directly into the existing hole in the LCA or do you have to redrill it? I was told over the weekend you have to redrill the hole because if you don't it pushes the steering too far forward. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Shawn. 8)

4wd MJ leafs vs. 2wd MJ leafs vs. Explorer leafs
Hot Rod Jeep replied to Pete M's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I didn't realize the 4wd MJ's had more arch than the 2wd MJ's. 8) -
Well, I wouldn't run fenders, but I plan on driving it on the street some until I can get a trailer and a tow rig. 8)
-
So I take it no one likes fender vents? 8)

I hate body lifts too, I just didn't know how good his fab skills were. 8)
-
Yeah I have to agree, THIS SITE ROCKS!!! 8)
-
Yeah I do that alot too. 8)

Kewl, thanks man. 8)

Kewlness, thanks for the diagram and pic. What's the easiest way to cut it? I know it's kinda tight in there. I've got a sawzall and a 4 1/2" grinder. 8)

The 2wd transmission hump is smaller than the 4wd hump. I think it's only a couple inches difference, but I don't know what kind of clearence issues that'll bring up. You might be able to just cut the 4wd hump out and bolt it in the 2wd's place or use a body lift. Something to check into before you go setting the 2wd cab on the frame then then find out. 8)

Sure, why not? I would. I agree though the first pic makes it a better canidate. Hey off the subject for a second, how do you have your doors set up? Are they just pinned some how to take them on and off real easy? I want to do that to mine, I was just curious how. Thanks, Shawn. 8) And good luck on winning!

What is your factory radiator? Is it aluminum with plastic tanks or is it copper with brass tanks? This one is a factory aluminum 2 core out of an XJ. Also, is it 2 core or 3? Thanks for the info, Shawn. 8)

Trust me, the hood will be modded ALOT! I can't even close the hood now because it hits the carb. I don't think it's gonna clear alot of things actually, so I plan on either fabbing up or installing a cowl induction scoop. If I put a scoop on instead of fabbing it, I'm gonna use zeus clips so I can take it off on sunny days. I even thought about venting the fenders. 8)

yay, it worked

Hey I might just do that, just got too many projects going on the same project at the same time. I need to finish my axles and get them under it, but I'd also love to crank it and let it sit and run with out getting hot too. I'll figure something out and keep you guys posted. 8)

Yeah I'd really like to have a Modine, but right now money just doesn't allow that. 8)

Wow, thats all i have to say, wow. 8)

Yeah I wanted to keep the front end stock looking, that's why I wanted to stick with an MJ/XJ radiaotr. I plan on running twin electric fans on it and some magic water, but I still don't know if that'll do it or not. I've still got to build the front spring hangers for the leaf conversion and I didn't wanna build it out any more than I had to. Thanks for the info. 8)

Thanks for the info guys. 8)

Ok, this might sound stupid, but I have a question. I was wanting to know if you guys think a factory 2 core aluminum radiator would keep my 360 cool? I'm going on the same theory as the drag racing and hot rod guys that use 2 core aluminum radiators in their V8 S-10 conversions. I have access to a 3 core out of a J truck, but I didn't wanna fab up any more than I have to right now because of money and it's obviously not gonna fit in the stock location. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Shawn. 8)
