  1. BLA!!! I'd rather have manual windows and locks any day. Less hassle to deal with when something goes wrong. Besides, my wife has a L.E. Liberty for the luxury.
  2. i was working on mine in my driveway and another MJ owner pulled up to chat. I see one or two almost everyday.
  3. Thats way cool! I'm jealous of that owner.
  4. Here's my old ZJ... a 97 with the 5.2l. Great for off road. Was loaded with all the goods minus the sunroof. Gotta sawzall?
  5. So tonight I got bundled up and re-installed my fuel tank with the new pump in. It wasn't too bad at all considering I don't have a heated shop/garage or even a lean-too. Now I just need to fix the wiring going to the pump and I can fuel it up and see if my lean condition went away. Cross my fingers.
  6. My wife has an '03 with the 3.7L Limited Edition (loaded). It's a decent vehicle. Ours gets 17.5 MPG, just don't tow or you'll get 8 MPG! I just had to put a radiator and thermostat in it. So far it has over 150k on the ticker and still goes great.
  7. You can make any bucket seat fit if you have time and money. But to use factory XJ seats they "should" bolt right in using there donor mount brackets. I'm lucky, my MJ came with buckets...not very good ones, they are low back and vinyl covered. i too will be getting newer XJ buckets ('96). As far as the console, I used one from a '96 XJ and just remeber to get the mounts with it. But I'm also going to convert my e-brake to the XJ hand pull set-up.
  8. I'm looking for a MPFI Intake manifold and throttle body from a 94 and newer 2.5L. Any leads to one is welcomed. Price is negotiable.
  9. I have had 2 Grands...one was a 93 had the 4.0l and AW4 trans and a np242 (not fulltime). My other was a 97 5.2 42re, and had the np241 (fulltime). The 93 was the best, the AW4 is the most bullet proof trans Mopar has that uses elec. overdrive. The 97 had 2 trans into it and going on the 3rd. If it was worth the time and money...get an AW4 trans and swap, but you'd need the engine harness, computer and trans module from the donor vehicle to make it all work. Save yourself the pain and get a ZJ with the 4.0 and the AW4.
  10. Well, I won't be doing any of the fabricating or install until possibly spring-time. Basically I will relocating the battery and all wiring under the hood to give room for the turbo and to just clean stuff up. All of the factory injection stuff will be removed. Going to get an intake manifold from a newer MPFI 2.5L, including the throttle body and tps. As mentioned I will be using a Mega Squirt SFMS. With this system I have to build my own wire harness. The turbo will have a custom build solid mount bracket to the pass. side fender well. From there it's a matter of fitment/placement of the tubing for air and exhaust. My intercooler is mounted right in front of the radiator and is centered in the grille. I'll need to cut holes in the front headed panel to allow access to the intercooler inlet/outlet. I have a local hose store that sells high pressure/temp silicone hose specifically designed for turbos. I'll see about getting some rough idea pics soon.
  11. NICE!! I found that post on the mufflers.....feereaking helarious! But I guess I can't really knock it though, cuz it's different strokes for different folks. Plus, I've done some crazy shizz too.
  12. AutoZone price $131.99 with pilot bearing, throwout bearing, alignment tool, friction plate, and pressure plate.
  13. Yes there is a float and wires. You need to pull your pump from the tank to verify the condition of these. The pump housing has or should have 3 wires going into it. One will be a ground, one to power up the pump motor and the other for a guage signal.
  14. It's supposed to be a type of "anti-lock" system. You can eliminate it without any issues.
  15. Your old stock fuel pump will work just fine. The fuel pressure output is going to be the same. If you are upgrading the motor to an H.O. the differences are the head (valve size), exh./int. ports are larger on the H.O., throttle body size, fuel injectors are larger. Because this stuff is bigger it really means more EFFIECENCY and some power increase. If I were doing an H.O. upgrade just do the head assembly, int./exh. manifolds, and all the stuff that goes on the int. manifold...i.e. throttle body, injectors, fuel rail, just to be certain it all matches up. But to also verify that just cross reference the "old" gaskets to the "new" gaskets from your current Jeep to the donor. Hope this helps.
