  1. Here is a little update on the new ride, I picked up a set of GT 5 spoke 17" rims, I put a set of rear Grand Cherokee springs on the front that dropped it about 3" in the front. I haven't done anything in the rear yet, can't decide on putting drop blocks or hunting down some rear leafs to take it down. I thought about putting waggy springs in the spring under flavor but I think it will drop it to much compared to the front. Here is a current pic.
  2. Yeah it was, the guy had no clue as what he had. He thought the ball joints where trashed thats why he wanted to sell it, it turned out to only be the track bar.
  3. So I got a pretty good deal today and figured I'd share with everyone who cares. Its a 89 Eliminator short box 2wd 4L/auto in pretty damn good shape only has one major dent in the drivers rear quarter panel that I should be able to beet out. It has 200K on the ticker but runs strong shifts smooth and doesn't burn any oil. Plan is to make a DD slash street truck out of it leaving it 2wd maybe dropping it an inch or two with a nice set of wheels and tires. Also the girl friend can drive it to keep some miles off the Power Stroke.
  4. I will add one too not sure of the score or what degree it was.
  5. I've got waggy springs on the back of my junk, I DD mine so I've never really flexed it out. It rides pretty good and the payloads not bad either. Not sure on springs and such but they are the same dimensions as MJ springs. So they will bolt right up.
  6. Full size waggy springs are the same dimensions as the stock mj springs and are flatter Just FYI.

    nice save

That guy is in a local club that I'm in, haven't wheeled with him yet but his rig is pretty bad @$$.
  8. If you want to go ahead and SOA the rear but not not go any higher pick up a set of wagoneer rear leafs, they are the same dimensions as MJ springs but are flatter. Then when you get the money to go higher in the front you can put the stock springs back in. This is what I did on my truck and it worked out well.
  9. My AW4 has started to shift kinda weird, when you take from a red light nice and easy not acting like a fool it shifts from first to third in a matter of seconds. Does anyone know what might be causing it to do this?
  10. But I picked up some new treads for my manche, will get some pics of them on the truck soon. They are 32x11.50x16 50% tread all four for 75 bucks.
  11. Where can I find the trim that goes above the doors preferably new as I tried taking them off a truck in the junk yard and ended up jacking them up.
  12. Before 86'Lwb 4wd 2.8L Now Still an 86'Lwb now with a 4.0L and 8.8 rear waggy rear springs and 33"claws
  13. So I talked to a state trooper that supposably knew what he was talking about(what an @$$) He said it didn't matter what year the the new motor came from it had to pass visual emissions test according to the year the truck was built(86)so I needed to put on the EGR stuff, I asked him how he expected me to put it on a motor that was never equipped with it so there is no where to install it at. So I told him he was an idoit and hung up on him.
  14. My truck is an 86 but the entire drive train came out of a 94' and there was no EGR valve on it when I swapped it in. I also installed a pacesetter header when I did the swap. Is the 94' a HO motor?
  15. :headpop: My truck failed VA inspection yesterday because I didn't have an EGR valve, does the 4.0 even have an EGR valve cause I can't find one for it.
  16. I know around my parts you would be better off just having a new one put in. They will do it but will not guarantee that it will not break when they try to remove it. You can call a shop up and see what they say?
  17. No good pics yet I got it stuck on less than a wheel barrel load of sand in my parents back yard, so 4wd is on the top of my list of stuff to do soon and a LSD for the 8.8. I have 2 4wd trucks and both aren't 4wd right now it sucks.
  18. I would prefer to go back stock as this is my D/D while I'm swapping in the 8.8 in my grand. There is a pic of it on here somewhere http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... highlight=
  19. Yeah its a aw4 behind it right now its just a 2wd unit. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't any breaks in the aw4 so it wouldn't bolt up to the 4.0L I have.
  20. I recently stabbed a 94 4.0L into my truck for time and money sake I left the 2wd trans on the motor. I need to know what transmissions will bolt up to my engine(what years)to make it 4wd and it is an auto.
  21. Pics please, 12 inches thats freakin huge. I have hop in mine now at around 5 inches, what do you use to get in it a rope ladder??
  22. I have had a LA kit from Rusty's for about 3 years now and I have not had one problem to date. It soon will be going on my comanche once my ZJ goes custom 3 link in the front.
  23. I don't think it is going to be a dana 44 since its a 94, mine has a dana 35. The steering would be a nice upgrade as it is stronger than the one you have now. And grand cherokee 44's are the alum. version not really that strong.
  24. Yeah sorry, should of been more clear on what they came off of. The ones I got where off of a 86' wagoneer (full size) They are flatter than the stock springs as I used them to lower the rear of my truck after I SOAed it with an 8.8. They are the same length as stock MJ springs 57"
  25. They are a direct bolt up, but I did slip a couple washers in the front eye bucket to tighten it up a little. As for the distance between the hub and the top rail its about 37".
