  1. Thread resurrection time! Can anybody with a Lund installed advise as to how it reacts at speed going down the freeway? Is it stable at 80 mph? Any leaks in the rain? Any increased air noise? I really like the looks of them, and here in the AZ sun they are quite practical; but they are also a bit pricey to buy and try... TIA.
  2. I have uploaded a few pdfs from other sites with seat swaps to the MJ cloud server. Some good details in there.
  3. NOS Jeep Mopar Moab Rims 16x8 5-4.5 fits TJ, YJ, XJ, MJ -- Quantity 5 -- NEW | eBay Yikes!
  4. Found some 16x8 MOAB wheels I am interested in, about 500 miles away. Would rather not spend 2 days driving to go get em. Anybody ever shipped wheels? It might help these these do not have tires mounted. I think that 5 would fit on a 48x48 pallet, without stacking. But the seller does not want to be bothered to palletize them.
  5. A few years ago we were up in the mountains camping on Sunday afternoon, getting ready to leave, looking at smoke developing from a foothills fire maybe 30-40 miles away - kinda sorta in the direction of home. Got home, and the fire was about 2 miles from our house. These guys were flying sorties about 300 feet above our house every 20 minutes or so. Did the job and knocked the fire down. Best aircraft photos in flight I ever captured; but I would rather not have another opportunity...
  6. 10 responses and not one pic? Looks like a lite F150 - before it started bulking up on steroids. Maybe a F125... Gotta love that sales slogan - "Make it with a Maverick". Seems 2022 models are all sold out, and there is one major recall affecting 100k vehicles... not sure how that works as they appear to have sold about 30k to date this year, 2022 Ford Maverick Truck Engine Manufacturing Recall
  7. What a wealth of knowledge these guys have!
  8. As your Post was titled Cheapest/Best... Attached is some "Stroker 101" info from the Best perspective: several options within. This site has a LOT of current info as well: Jeep Strokers - Homepage As I rationalize it... there is a lot of time invested into an engine swap; and in general, that time is about the same whether you replace your existing engine with a JY "lo miles" 100k mile engine, or a rebuilt stocker, or Hi Performance Stroker. A "build-it-yourself" Stroker, at maybe $5k, amortized over say 10 years (about how long I intend to keep mine, unless I go Tango Uniform first... ), is about $1.50/day, less than you would spend on a cup of Denny's coffee each day. Keeping with the coffee analogy, if your brew of choice was say, Starbucks, for $5/day you could afford to drop the Comanche off at a boutique Jeep Off-Road place and have them do all the work; come back a month later and drive away... All that said, if your day regularly starts with consuming a Starbucks venti salted caramel mocha frappucino with five pumps of frap roast, four pumps of caramel sauce, four pumps of caramel syrup, three pumps of mocha, three pumps of toffee nut syrup, double blended with extra whipped cream, you would also probably live longer if you spent that $ on a Stroker... 9. 1969 Jeepster with a 5.3 Vortec V8 and 4L60e Auto. Bet that thing is a handful at speed. 1969 Jeepster Commando 4WD 5.3 swap - cars & trucks - by owner -... (craigslist.org)
  10. scguy - Thanks for the info and pic. That is the style I am looking for, but the ARB site is maddening to try and find stuff. It also appears that their bumpers are all winch based - which means they are heavier and (most) protrude further, which I am not looking for. Guess I will give them a call. Did finally find a pic; that bumper is massive!
  11. Thanks for the info; I had seen that...somewhere, but could not find it. Then it appeared that Eaglescout526 had the same wheels; but maybe not.
  12. Thanks very much Daeson. So it looks like the "curve" is actually a "kink in the middle, so that the Brush Bar ...kind of... follows the curve of the bumper. I'll get this to the Dirtbound guy and see what he can do. Are those not 16x8 MOAB's on your car?
  13. Eggs actly. Preferable: End to end. Top to bottom. From the side - not sure if it has a slight curve or not. From the front - how does the top tube line up with the hood? Tube diameter? On a side note: Is that a louver in the rear window? Or a full populated Easy-Rider Rifle Rack? Being as you are from AZ, I'm thinking it could be either... Side note 2: 16x8 MOAB's? Do the tires rub with XX lift?
  14. I have been looking at a new front bumper, and I really like the form-follows-function style of the Dirtbound Mojave version. See 1st pic. I will not be mounting a winch. Also been looking for a bull-bar / brush bar, something along the lines of the old stocker. See 2nd and 3rd pic. Then found another version, maybe a bit more modern in appearance... to accomplish a similar end: see 4th pic. Although this would prolly not be as ... resilient, as the un-supported hoops extend out much further than than the Comanche stoker flavor. Contacted the Dirtbound guys, and they indicated they could duplicate the Comanche style, grafted onto their bumper. Not sure yet if it would be welded or bolt-on. Yes, the Dirtbound site already has a version with a brush bar, but... IMHO, its round-ish lines do not play well with the ...brick-ish lines of the MJ... See Pic 5. Could anyone with a stock Comanche Brush Bar please measure the length & height of the bar and respond back with those dimensions? Extra points for detailed mounting pics. TIA
  15. Central AZ. I'll bet the replacement parts cost a him a lot more than $100.... Anybody know if any of these parts would be ...adaptable to an MJ? Jeep JT Gladiator suspension - auto parts - by owner - vehicle... (craigslist.org)

  17. Carter, Sent you a sample from my gmail account. Let me know how it works.
  18. Carter, Superb! While I applaud the decision of accepting PDF Posts from other sites, a couple comments: 1. We considered using Google drive at work, and chose to NOT put all our corporate eggs in the Google Basket. 2. When Inet is down, you have no access to your data. 3. Think of the target this presents to those of...nefarious intent. All these companies, with lots and lots of internal data. While our firm does not have to worry about me inventing a new means of piping Medical Gases to get 2X the flow in half the pipe size, and CC does not need to worry (presumptively) about corporate secrets, all that data may be - at some time - caught up in a hack that targets others. It.is.all.at.risk. While we do use Google Drive for transferring non-sensitive data between company servers and folks working at home, ALL OUR DATA is under our control internally, with real-time backups, and multiple off-site storage locations. While I may tend to be a bit verbose, the crux is that all your data should be backed up somewhere - preferable multiple somewhere's - under your control, with some of them NOT connected to the Inet. No one else will care about your data as much as you do. All that said, I will start send you some later this weekend; right now I am spending too much time on the computer burning daylight and should be outside working... Mitch
  19. Sorry for the long post - kind of a complicated topic. Like many on here, I investigate via google things I am interested in. This generally leads to several other Jeep-ish sites, and others' experiences as they have documented on those sites. I tend to make a PDF of the thread(s) I am interested in, and save to my own computer. This is because sometimes that info just... goes away. Either because the OP became disgruntled and deleted all his content, or the site just died, or he failed to pay his photo hosting site fees, or the photo hosting site went tango uniform, or just decided to hold all the Internet hostage (think Photo Bucket). Re: I have been struggling to find just the right set of seats to replace my 91 original buckets. I have at least half a dozen PDF's from various sites, chronicling the sometimes pretty detailed fabbing required to adapt to that particular seat. Others have probably done things similar. It would be...ideal to have all this data in one place. Can these PDF's be hosted/posted on CC? The thing I do not fully comprehend is privacy aspects of this. However, note that with the right computer savvy, it is oftentimes (but not always) possible (via the Way Back Machine) to go "back in time" and see the website BEFORE the photos were deleted, and BEFORE threads were deleted. So if you were interested in say, the 4.0 Intake manifold swap, and found the link on the "mallcrawlin.com" website, "4.0L 99+ intake manifold swap with REAL DYNO NUMBERS!", the 7 pages posted are there (as of this am), but without any referenced pics. However, using the Way Back Machine, I can go back to August of 2012, and find the site, WITH THE PICS, before Photo-Bucket broke the internet. Having the photos to go with the article is... invaluable. So if the data is still "on the internet", and was voluntarily posted, I do not think there is any problem with saving a copy in pdf and re-hosting would be a concern. Point in fact, the data is already posted on the Way Back Machine site. See below for a sample pics of the "Intake Manifold Swap" from today, and then from Way Back Machine; you will not find this any other way. I would think it would be of benefit to everyone to post these (and a myriad of data about a myriad of other topics) in a PDF on CC. Thanks

  22. Not mine. This gent obtained a pristine but recently wrecked (Head on, but no injuries) 99 Cherokee, and pulled the engine and 4WD stuff to swap into his. I was second in line, and pulled the interior, seats, dash, firewall panels, firewall insulation blanket, etc for (future) use in my MJ. The pan is...almost NOS. Not a spec of rust, inside or out. Cherokee was bought in Marana (just outside Phoenix), and apparently stayed there it's entire life. Does not appear to have ever been in a state where salt was on the road. The dark stuff on the drivers side pan is metal particles from me cutting panels out of the firewall. PM me if interested, and I will put you in touch with him. He is asking $300. Location Tucson, AZ.
