well thats the thing i am upgrading from 3.07 and 235/75r15s to something bigger when i lift the truck. i already have the 3.55 geared axles to put in when i lift it.

yea i figured that i just wanted to make sure it would work because I'm getting it lifted next month and just debating on a 3 or 3.5 inch with 31s or a spring over with 33s i want it to be great offroad but still be fast and have some towing power on road but i am broke so i can't have all that quite yet but i don't really want to pay to do it twice.

its getting a cold air intake and throttle body spacer too if it makes a difference.

I have a d30 and I'm getting an 8.25 to replace my d35 they are all 3.55 gears. Would that gearing be able to deal with 33 inch tires and a spring over axle rear?

I go 75 on a daily basis in my mj going to work. and if i get a fire call stay the heck out of my way haha but the fastest ive ever gone i think is about 90. thats a bone stock 2wd 4.0 manual with an exaust manifold leak so it backfires

ok slowly getting there. I just got a custom bumper from a guy who turned out to be a member that lives in jersey. It hangs a little low on the left side but I'm not complainin its alot nicer then the old one. Down side is i know ill eventually rip it off cause it is just the stock mounts I upgraded the bolts but that won't help the sheet metal.

I have a similar problem sometimes when accelerating i get a few short backfires and then the engine guns it but i don't change the gas pedel at all any ideas? It got really bad and blew a muffler so i changed the distributer, wires, plugs, air filter, serpentine belt, valve cover and exaust manifold gaskets as well as new muffler and tail pipe. Please help someone

Thanks man yeah thats why i almost had to get rid of it. I bottomed out and they ripped off and both doors will become white until i repaint it.

Alot has happened since i last updated. I was driving and all the sudden the engine started backfireing violently and would not stop. Well after a min or two the muffler popped like a tin can. I brought it to the shop and they replaced it. I didn't make it off their lot before it did it again. So they replaced it again and went in search of what was causing it. Long story short i think knock on wood they fixed the major problem. They had to replace the distributor and cap, wires, surpentene belt, muffler, tail pipe, gaskets, valve cover gasket, air intake, pcv hose. I think thats about it but it was bad. The major back firing stopped but it still is sputtering and making small back fires that sound like put. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. That being said onto the project. I took off the cap and put in a tool box. I'm getting a fabtech tire rack for the bed and a custom front push bumper. I also decided it'd be smart to sell the d35 i was gonna use for my 4x4 conversion and get an 8.25 so i'm in the process of getting one of them. Well here's some pics of the new box and the truck with the cap off. My plan for the near future is to weld the hinge and put the drivers door on and wire them, convert to 4x4, new front and rear bumpers, 3 inch hell creek lift with 33" tires, and repaint the whole truck red with the bed and rails Line-x.

does anyone have a link to which drop shackles to use? also a link to where u found 2 inch pucks. I can only find 1.75"

I have a cap and the plastic liner an I hate them both so out they go and in goes spray In and a tool box. The plastic ones are thick, stuff slides alot, and you don't have anywhere to tie down to.

what would you recomend for gears because currently i have 3.55 dana 30/35 and sorry for the :hijack:

I'm taking out my plastic bedliner and i want to know peoples opnions on the best bedliner. Is it worth the money to get rhinoliner or line-x sprayed in or is the spray paint or roll on version just as good. I'm not a pro painter i can use a spraycan or a brush or roller thats about it so i can't professionally spray and myself anyway. But whats everyones opinions. ps The cheaper the better

This is an incredible build man. any advise to someone who is also puting the 4.5" kit on but I'm only gonna run 33s.

hey 89JeepMJ i like that plow man where did you find that at? as for updates on my truck.... I'm halfway threw swapping in new doors out of an xj. They have power mirrors, windows, and locks and the nicer interior pannels. they are white for now but when i repaint the whole truck it'll look sweet. I only have one on for now because it took an hour to shim it right to make up for the sag in the pins and the drivers hinge needs to be welded before i can take that door off or i think it may just fall off so thats gonna happen thursday and I'm hoping that the shop doing the welding will wire them up for me. A man can hope. I'm also picking up a tool box tonight hopefully to replace my cap on the back. Last i got all the parts to do the conversion so keep your eye out for that in the next month or two. Also i'll have some leftover parts for sale at that time which is looking like a ba 10/5 2wd with 67000 miles on it, a dana 35 out of an mj geared 3.07 with the same, a 98 cherokee t case with around 98,000, front dummy axle, possibly a rear window visor thing and a drop in long bed liner. well thats it for now.

Does anyone know what the difference in size of driveshaft is between a dana 35 and an 8.8. its going in a ax15 np231.
