  1. When you say slides over you mean the sheet metal slides up in the trim?
  2. Just a quick question guys. I am replacing the trim around the window and I am not sure if the trim slides over the thin metal along the window or it just sits in the clips. Hope that makes sense.
  3. Hi guys I am looking for someone who makes the fog light switch bezels and sports bar light bezel. Just got some installed and I need a fog light with delete on right side and power/comfort and sports bar light bezel on the right. Any help would be great.
  4. Now you tell me
  5. Figured I would start a new thread regarding this. If I do my rear main seal, I have seen a video where a guy uses a bottle jack to help get clearance for the pan. My question is had anyone else done this and do you have to take all the stuff apart like he did? Thanks guys
  6. Does anyone have a video of this process anywhere? If I keep my Comanche I would like to refinish and paint mine. The process makes me a bit nervous though.
  7. Been there done that Pete. It’s the only job I had to throw in the towel on. I hit the old pan out but couldn’t get the new one back in.
  8. That’s the problem. They are assuming that I think. They have put 3 seals in. I’m not sure how they didn’t check that after the first seal. That’s what aggravates me. I’m hoping they figure it out for me. That will be a big factor in what I do with it.
  9. The service lady said the tech said it could be either crank walk or a scored crankshaft. I would have thought after the first seal they would have checked that stuff. Now they are fighting me on it. The used engine was out in last January. It had 141K miles on it. I believe it was a 90 day warranty. I will look into a double wiper seal. I would like to try on my own before I give up on it. Can you find a link for the seal?
  10. I don’t mind living with it but it’s leaking about a quart of oil a week. That’s a lot to me.
  11. Hi guys title says it all. I am at a crossroads with the Comanche. I have about 20k and a second used engine in him. I have been chasing a rear main leak for months. It’s at the dealership for the umpteenth time getting looked at. They are telling me it is either crank walk or crankshaft is scored. They are recommending either a crankshaft replacement or new engine. So I pose the question, what is the best and cheapest way to go. I can’t really afford a new engine right now. I’m not sure what to really do. I have spent at least 20k on this truck and know I won’t get my money back out of it. Any input, ideas, suggestions are welcome. Yes it’s the rear main too. Everything and I mean everything else has been fixed on it. Thanks guys
  12. This job is a nightmare. Lol. I tried it in my garage by myself. I actually got the old pan out and the new seal in but couldn’t get the new oil pan in. It’s the first time I ever had to throw in the towel on a project. I had to have it towed to the dealership for them to finish. I was pretty disappointed. AZ Jeff has the right idea. There is a good video on you tube of a guy jacking up the axle. Watch it and it will help. Have plenty of rags and don’t wear good clothes. It was a long project for me but I’m still kinda new to that stuff. If I had to do it again it would take me half the time probably. Good luck.

    Spare keys

I was just thinking I have only 1 set of keys for my Comanche. Does anyone have an extra set of blank keys laying around. Mine have Jeep on one side, and American motors on the other. My ignition key has a a J stamped in it. My door key is just a round style key. Thanks guys
  14. You don’t have to disconnect the axle or anything do you?
  15. I will keep that in mind Pete. That was probably my problem. I don’t remember jacking it up. I didn’t think it was a hard job just dirty and time consuming.
  16. I tried the first one on my own. Got my old pan removed and new seal installed and I couldn’t get the new pan over the axle. First time ever I had to throw in the towel on a repair and call a tow truck to tow it to dealership. I was pretty disappointed.
  17. I thought the same thing! Frustrates me. Plus they got the seal from AutoZone. I did request them but the Fel Pro seal though. I have had good luck with them.
  18. Hi guys, my Comanche is at the dealership for the 6th time chasing this leak. I still think it’s the rear main after everything they have replaced. Now they are telling me I have to live with the leak or replace my engine due to some bearings being loose around the rear main. My question is will I have to live with this leak or are they full of it. I would like them to replace the rear main again to make sure. Any suggestions would be helpful.
  19. Thanks Eagle. I don’t have that load sensing valve on the back I don’t think. My whole brake system has been redone like 3 times. Lol. Just a portion valve under the hood and 4 individual lines. Any hood leaf spring recommendations? Sounds like that’s where I need to head.
  20. Hi guys looking for a place to pick up a 60mm bored throttle body for my 87 renix. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
  21. Not to hijack the thread but you still making switch plate bezels? I have messaged you a couple times about them.
  22. That makes sense. I appreciate the input.
