  1. finished all the welding and such tonite: I have a few hours between class and work tomorow, I just need to clean it all up and spray the primer.....then when I get home I'm gonna paint it.
  2. +1 on the 3.4 swap; I am planning to do one next summer.
  3. I thought about using the stock end caps but I haven't decided. Ill see how it looks with and without them.
  4. what do you mean by this?
  5. Just building up a little bumper for my MJ, nothing bomb proof, but an improvement over stock. Let me know what you think...... Brakets:  End of day 1:
  6. I'm looking to make a new front bumper in the next few weeks before I put my MJ back on the road. I'm not gonna make anything crazy, but something strong and that doesnt protrude too much. Anyways, let me see what you got........
  7. I used engine enamal to paint my sbf, heads and block took about 1/4 of a pint, not even. Year later it still looks great.
  8. that's understandable. And not to be a nit-picker, but the aformentioned spot weld as described is really more of a plug weld. Still though, gets the job done just fine.
  9. those welds look just fine. try this though, the arm that isnt holding the gun put on the floor and slide your other wrist across it. good luck with it!
  10. yea the 700r4 would be a bit too much trans for this I think. How would the d18 fit into the mj? Need alot of modding? Thanks
  11. I can't get a bellhousing adapter? I am 4wd, what's the story on the other trans? Hard to find/pricey?
  12. I was just at my neighbors house and he was working on a buick regal. It had the gm 3.8 v6 with the factory supercharger. Has anyone ever swapped one into an MJ? I am just wondering because he said he has a friend selling one and I though it may bolt up well in the spot of a gm 2.8. And it's an efficient and power little engine; easy to make power out of, but I never would want more than stock. What are your thoughts? Thanks Matt
  13. oh. Well yea I'm almost sure thats what they are, just wanted to make sure.
  14. is there a fog light switch in the cab? If there is, put a light on the connector and see if it fluctuates with the toggle of the switch, just to make sure. I don't want to give uncertain info.
  15. Hey guys, I just joined after being linked to this thread, so I figured it would be good to make a first post here. here's my 1986 mj when I first got it, for a whopping 1 dollar. This is during the blizzard of 06 (morning), when it was just mechanically restored: And this is what it looks like now, after 3/4 gallons of free paint, and a week off from school:
