  1. Just took some shots of the undercarriage, I found a hose that looks to lead to nowhere that troubles me ( 7th photo). I see no vacuum so I assume it was deleted? It’s a 1988 but thanks to eagle I know it was made in sept of 1987! ( thank you ) . I’m anxiously looking for indications of rust or failure. Testing it today it defiantly went into what sounded like a defrost setting. My hoses are quite old so it may be the cause. ( picture is old I cleaned the engine bay significantly).
  2. Did a good check of the undercarriage today. Seems like the frame was treated with a weather coating?
  3. That’s a great way of looking at things.
  4. Damn, that sunroof is awesome.
  5. For now I have added pipe fasteners and tape. Until I can set time aside to correct the holes. I have chrome manual mirrors. Although, now kind of now have an obsession with the OEM tow mirrors, and flag mirrors like this
  6. I just found Is pretty close to exactly what I want to end up doing over time to mine. What Comanches do you guys really like. these are mine, just very simple, very 80s

If there is any links or forum posts you really recommend please message them over. So far I'm following the - Recommendations for first owners, and everything Cruiser has written I printed out in a 3 ring so far. Just trying to take thing one step at a time, never worked on any cars in my life.
  11. For my friends who want to keep things organized. Quick way- make a file -find image go to image to png . Com then mount file. long way - first pick a image - than resize with MS paint to 500 x 500MP - save image as whatever you like .ico Instead of it being a .PNG, or any other. This is for icon images. - go to the “ Comanche file “ go to preferences- customize - Click your image and mount! Done!

  14. thank you all. I appreciate it
  15. Thank you so much Eagle, yes it shuts off sometimes randomly when I accelerate. I had to hit the switch a few times for it to even start. I’ll be sure to check the vacuum lines, and the vac assisted motors. I apologize I’m pretty green. The service components are the oil, filters etc? What causes power surges in the Comanche? c101 connector resistance.
  16. How’s everyone doing. I was driving my car for around 2 hours with no problems. The only issues I have noted are as follows. speedometer cable. -I here a rough clicking behind the cluster at 25-35MPH with bounce. Others have informed me that this is the speedometer cable. When going uphill the cabin vent fan stops working. Flat or downhill blows strong. - haven’t diagnosed lights in beams not working -looked on thread for light replacement. Bushings . Section at a time - $$$$ I have started all the ground wire refresh. Ordered new Bosch fuel injectors and haven’t decided on what spark plugs. Thinking of new radiator and headlight harness for preventive measure. Any thought appreciated.

I just hope everyone remembers to not jump to conclusions, act with empathy. We are not all mind readers, and I hope nobody is afraid to pitch in on a discussion. The idea of this is a friendly space to enjoy one another :)! I understand your point of view and respect the idea of time moving forward. We have defiantly progressed for the better over time ( accept for fiat jeep arguably (; ). The view that I am looking through is simple demographic values. I agree we are all more american than ever before, but the problems that I have in LA are apples and oranges to someone living in a rural area. The idea of the electoral college is to make sure those who live in any community big or small get a voice.

(The Virginia House of Delegates passed Tuesday a bill to award its electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote as the newly elected Democratic majority sought to join the pact to leapfrog the Electoral College. The state House voted 51-46 to enter into the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, sending H.B. 177 to the state Senate despite opposition from Republicans who argued that the measure would upend the intent of the Framers.)
  20. As a few of the more vetted folks on here have brought to my attention. Parts are becoming more and more hard to find. With offroading/ overlanding, and XJ's becoming more popular, simple supply and demand is bound to catch up. I wanted to ask all of you what parts do all really keep an eye for. Ones that may be a more specialized in the future. Little things are usually the first to stop being reproduced. I hope to have a discussion of parts youve had to replace multiple times do to wear and tare or just simply design failure. Here is what I have in my notes so far, EXTERIOR- OEM Factory Accessories of any kind - ex: Sports Bar Door Trim Complete Rear end of truck - ex: Rear Lights / Tailgate Hood INTERIOR - Really most of the interior is desirable. Clock Factory Radio Cluster Bucket Seat brackets Door Handles Shift Boot Relays ex: sentinel lights ENGINE AND DRIVE TRAIN fusebox cover HARD TO FIND ALREADY- from the rear window all the way to the bumper is difficult to obtain. These possibly should be cosmetic priorities? what are some must haves for a MJ owner.
  21. As I learn I get a little disappointed about parts iv already passed up.
  22. this might be worth trying!
  23. Thanks man, I really appreciate it! iv gone as far as post them in S10 groups. Nobody has any idea. For now I picked up some vent windows and Chrome mirrors from a 90'! I feel at 24 years old looking at the rising cost of XJs I'm right on time to start getting some parts set aside! they just showed me that at autozone. Guess ill pick one up!
  24. 2:00am here, working on getting my Comanche to almost new quality. Decided I wanted to share with you my excellent results Materials required are photographed!
  25. thank you eagle, after looking at it a little closer, just seems that its been worn in some areas. I was looking to order a new cable but I can't seem to find out what is the proper replacement for the Comanche. Reading in the manual it refers to several lengths. I cannot find a guide on a cable swap. Any recommendations? Thank you.
