  1. What made you decide on Rubicon 4.5” over Rustys or other high quality lifts... no need to discuss Rough Country. Also, since you have been driving it daily with the Rubicon lift, how do you like it with your WJ control arm swap? I just picked up my project and want to do a 4.5” lift and have noticed a lot of people doing the rubicon lift.
  2. So no grinding the backing plate like on the ZJ plates? If so, any KJ will do... right? No differences between KJ years?
  3. How is the splice working out? Any shirts or issues after a few years? Planning on doing the conversion and I prefer to just retrofit rather than trying to sort out the different wiring colors and such. I have a complete 99 wire harness all the way back to the tail lights. I’ll have to modify/remove the parts that are not needed for an MJ so this method just makes more sense.
  4. Thank you Pete. Floor pans need some attention but that’s a given for these and xj’s. Otherwise, body, frame and undercarriage is cleaner than my XJ. Also I can’t see your signature for the links. Can you post it in a reply?
  5. Thank you for the insight. Been debating on an 8.25 or 8.8. I’ve done the disc swap on my 8.25 on my XJ. The attractive part with the 8.8 is the brakes are already there, just have to relocate the perches. I don’t weld so that’s my only hesitation on the 8.8. BTW - nice MJ. Is that an electric blue?
  6. You have any vibration issues with the 8.8 in the rear?
  7. Jomanche I have a BA-10 in my 1987. I’m located in Valparaiso, Indiana.  Have family in Western, PA, including Erie. Going to do a 4x4 conversion with a different transmission.  What’s your timing need in this as I’ll be heading back to PA sometime in the next several weeks.

what’s the details on the BA-10? Rebuilt? Miles? Etc etc price?

Not sure on mileage or whether it has been rebuilt.  Guy I bought it off of said it shifts smooth and he drove it almost daily until he started down the path of putting an LS in it and changing everything. I literally would take like $60 for it given I have no knowledge other than it does not show any signs of rough shifting into different gears when I have moved it. don’t need another paperweight hanging around my place.

  8. Hello everyone. Brand new manche owner and new to the forum. Picked up an 87 short bed 2x4 with the dreaded BA-10 5 speed on the Renix 4.0. I will be swapping it to a Ax-15 and making it 4x4. Been doing a lot or reading about spline counts, driveshaft length, etc.... I’m even considering upgrading to 4.0HO. From those who have done the swap, including an xj conversion, and I’m in no rush, what year and from what jeep should I look to pick up an ax-15? I know I need new t-case and drive shafts from a 4x4. Cherokee’s with 5 speeds are rare around me so I don’t think I’ll get lucky and find a 97+ Cherokee 5 speed.
