I use these around the house and for clearing trails. They’re good for stuff up to 2-2.5”. Have yet to find anything it can’t cut through, that will fit in the jaws. A much lighter option.

Oh yeah good one there, we will occasionally have guys pull a trailer on site, then dump the trailer to run solo on site. Would be easy to pull off. I’ll do this next time that happens. 👍

This is a good one. I’m sure random horns an the junkyard are cheap. 👍Noted sir.

Good choice of wheels, Sir. 👍 Beautiful truck. Did you do something to get your dash lights so bright?

Factory posi D44!! LUCKY!! does it still have it?
-
Awesome. So this is potentially a dealer option box? How is yours mounted? I can’t seem to get myself to drill holes into my bed.

We have been there and done that. Everyone knows the noise and is tuned onto the zip tie trick. Truck doesn’t go much farther than 10ft before they get out and cut em off.

I’ll be more than happy to help out with some $$. I'm not rich by any means but I think of all the future members who would love to have access to the awesome CC swag. One Magnet handed out could lead to an awesome future member. I’m sure there’s plenty of Comanche enthusiasts out there that have never heard of the CC. Need to get the word out!!! No way this site is at its peak yet. Cruiser54 stickers too!!

I’ve been in a prank war with my Coworkers. I’m looking for new and creative ways to screw with these guys. I DO NOT WANT TO CAUSE ANY DAMAGE TO VEHICLES. These are work trucks owned by an awesome boss, and I don’t want things to get out of hand or cost the boss any money. I Always pre warn the mechanic as well. So far it’s been applying grease to handles and other often touched objects. Or writing funny things on the back of dirty Dump truck trailers. A magnetic bumper sticker that says “I have herpies” has made its rounds too. For whatever reason, doing dirt work, we always find … Fake Johnnys. Or objects shaped that way. This is a piece of wood that we found, so I took some bailing wire, hid it up under, so he didn’t notice on morning walk around but hid it in a way that it would fall out upon hitting the first bump. He drove around like this for about a week before noticing One guy got a couple of Harmonica’s Zip tied onto his dump truck. Harmonica zip tied to his visor And the passenger grab handle for good measure. He called the mechanic freaking out saying his turbos were about to blow up. The mechanic, who already knew about it, told him to just keep driving it, so he had to listen to the noise all day. The Greaser kid who tried, but failed to get me, got this treatment… Cut open a water bottle length wise, filled it with Ice cold water, then Put it into his sun visor. Seemed a little obvious so I wrapped it in a rag, so even if he noticed and grabbed the rag, he was getting a wet crotch. He didn’t notice it and promptly found out the first time he hit the gas trying to pull out into traffic. These guys decided to move the cones we put out so no body would park here, and got taught what happens. Bury em in with the Side dump. One of the plumbers was a cool dude so I had to screw with him too. The old Zip ties on the driveshaft has been played out. Tire soap inside a glove was a pretty good one too. Let me know what you guys come up with. Ill be more than happy to try out anything that doesn’t damage vehicles.

The “Other” Comanche
WranglerMangler replied to WranglerMangler's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Yeah, I agree. Lots of work to be done there too. -
This Comanche was the “Other” part of a “2 for 1 deal” I found on FB marketplace. Not exactly sure what I’m going to do with her yet but here she is in all her glory. First time I saw the “92fer” and the “other” Comanche. 1990, SWB, 4x4, 4.0, BA10/5, 231, D30/35,Bench seat, Gas tank skid plate. Getting her home. Engine, transmission and transfer case plus a different transfer case. 231J is bolted to the transmission (Peugeot BA10/5) 231AMC is the other Tcase. 172,998 Comanche #7

Project “CommuteChe”
WranglerMangler replied to WranglerMangler's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Bed liner did come with the tailgate piece. Do I really want to drill holes in my tailgate? Everything inside me says no. And I feel anxious just thinking about putting holes in it. Maybe I’ll just use this tailgate, clean it up and re paint it black to match ‘Muteche -
Project “CommuteChe”

Found a factory Comanche bed liner recently. Figured CommuteChe bed would benefit. Wish it fit a little better though. Hopefully this summer when it’s hot I can get it into better shape -

1990,SWB,4.0,4x4,231, D30/35 Non running condition, Spray painted, Engine,Transmission and Tcase are removed. Don’t know why. 175,000mi In the Pacific Northwets. No rust, plenty of body damage.

Yeah it is. Especially since it’s zoned Portland, in the Northwest, and claims to be sold in Michigan. Plus I found this in the glove box.. Roberts Jeep Eagle, Auburn Wa

Interesting, the Vin on the state issued title is incorrect. They mixed up an M and an N. Fixed mistake in title of post. Vin is correct now.

Keep on plugging away at it guys! I’ve been so frustrated with my Comanches that I swear I’m going to sell all the dang things, but you get past it, go out on a drive, and it all goes away. Then it’s suddenly worth the frustration and busted knuckles. You have found the best source of information for the trucks. I went years without knowing about this site. Be sure to do Cruiser54 mods as well. Make a huge difference!!

What a beautiful truck.

Woke up Sunday, Checked Facebook Marketplace and found a Jeep Comanche “2 for 1 sale”. Right up my Alley! Hit the guy up, was at his house and had a deal worked out within an hour. This is the one of those 2 Comanches. The ‘92fer. 1992, SWB, 4x4, 4.0, AX15, 231J, D30/35, Gray interior, bench seat, slider rear window, 225,xxx on the full dash. The Previous Owner claimed it “has a brand new engine in it” upon further inspection once home, I believe it is indeed a “new” engine. It has a brand new oil pan installed on it, in the places I’ve dusted off the block, I’m finding brand new black paint. Haven’t broken out the pressure washer and super clean yet, but everything I’m seeing is saying the engine has recently been tampered with. No obvious oil leaks except the Oil filter adapter. Feel like it was long blocked and they threw on the oil filter adapter without new O rings. Previous owner claimed the fuel pump is Inoperable. Hooked up a known good battery, and cranked on the ignition switch, she cranks but won’t fire. Dumped some gas straight down the Throttle body and it actually popped and came to life for a split second. Did this a few times and it actually seems to want to run. Just not getting fuel. Swapped the starter relay with the fuel pump relay, both operate the starter so I assume that means the fuel pump relay is good. Checked the ground wire behind the taillight, cleaned down to bare metal, added Cruiser54s extra wire to frame. Still no fuel. But air pressure in the fuel rail when I depressed the Schrader valve on the rail to relieve fuel pressure. More to come. Will post pictures tomorrow

Interesting it’s a zone 71 Los Angeles with California emissions but sold from an equipment company in New Jersey.

Picked up this Gem today. Pretty happy about it. First 1992 Comanche, #5! Supposedly “new” 4.0 HO, 4x4, manual, D30/35, There will be plenty more posted soon.

I put that job off for a while not wanting to screw with my Distributor, and had read about difficulties getting the oil filter adapter removed, In my recent experience with it, it was laughably easy. Buy yourself a new oil filter and the kits, and jump right in. Suggest Getting some super clean while your there, soak it down and pressure wash the area for easier oil leak diagnostics.
