  1. Thanks Doug. I didn't realize the exact shape of it when I got it. I do have some work ahead of me but it's a blast to do it so I don't mind. I have a block and crank and rods and pistons for the start of my stroker build to. I'm gonna collect all the parts then....Bam!! Gonna have a stroker in the MJ!!! I could put the drivetrain out of the trail rig in the MJ but I really don't want to convert it to a 4x4. If I can come across it, I wouldn't mind changing to a 97+ front clip though.
  2. Probably no help but I have a NIB Lund Lunar Lighted Visor for a 1997 Ford Ranger I'd sell. Since you said "cut it down" I thought you might be open to other options.
  3. Very good advice. You don't think about floors rusting out but hey these trucks are 20 years old.
  4. I was told it had the 3.07's in it, but I'm thinking of going with an 8.8 w/4.10's and running 33's. You can get 8.8's with 3.73's all day around here but the 4.10's are little harder to find. Another benefit are the disc brakes. I'm upgrading my booster/MC with one from a WJ so I should be able stop really good. At least that's my plan.
  5. It's Mater, except bigger and no rust... :rotfl2:
  6. Hahaha. Thanks for the welcome. There are some awsome builds on this site. I just hope mine will turn out half as nice as some of the ones on here. I have had a couple other jeeps over the years and even still have an '87 parts XJ. Jeeps are like a Pringle, you can't stop with just one. :rotfl2:
  7. I got the fender swapped out tonight and some of the wiring out of the engine bay getting it ready to pull the motor and tranny. I will have to post pics tomorrow though, I'm beat!!
  8. Hey Fred. I have the seat in the back of the XJ and I work in LaVergne. What about meeting up so you can see the seat in person? I can snap some pics but it would be tomorrow evening before I could post them up. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Mark
  9. That Deuce is awsome!!
  10. Mark Morton 88 SWB 4.0/BA10 Smyrna Tn just outside of Nashville I just got my Comanche and I have big plans. I'd like to meet up with you guys and talk MJ's... Several of you I know through NAXJA and I even got my truck from Adam. Thanks man!!!
  11. Fred, If this works out better for you, then got for it. I can get seats a bit latter. I do have XJ seats to convert, if needed. I'll still call latter tonight to make sure what you want to do. Tom Hey Tom. I don't want to get in the way if you want to make the trade. I was just gonna offer a second if you couldn't. Fred, I am going to work on the truck tonight and the seat is already out, I can get some pics if you want sir. Thanks, Mark
  12. I'm in Smyrna and I'll trade ya if the other falls through. My seat is out of an '88 and it's tan. You're pretty close. Thanks, Mark
  13. I also run their bumper on the back of my XJ and the receiver is really loose. The tube they use needs to be cut out and the right sized one welded in before pulling very much. I like the bumper 'cause it's really heavy but that and the fact that the bar to hold the chains is on TOP of the tube instead of under it makes it no fun to pull a trailer.
  14. I think that's the same color red as mine. It looks like it's in really good shape.
  15. That's a nice looking truck. One day maybe mine will be that slick....
  16. Thanks guys. I have been reading some and found a couple of the replacement floor pan threads. I hope it won't be too hard to do. I think I will get a new panel though instead of piecing something together. As for the gears I know the mileage will suffer but I only have an 11 mile drive to work plus I plan on using it to haul stuff with but nothing real heavy. I'll keep the pics coming as I get the little things done. Thanks again!
  17. Hey guys. As you can see, I'm new to this site and new to MJ's, but I'm not new to Jeeps. I have a couple XJ's but when I saw this little truck, I knew it had some hidden greatness in it. Here's the short on it...'88 SWB 2WD 4.0 BA-10 w/D35. I don't know the gearing though. Current plans, swap out the motor and insert an AX-15 and possibly an 8.8 w/3.73's. I want to DD this and make my current DD more of a trail rig. Redoing the interior and new paint on it should brighten it's day. If you have any suggestions or thoughts, please throw them out there. I am open to suggestions. Like I said, I'm new to the MJ world. :D Here are a couple pics of it as it sits. Here are the rest if you want to see. I have a slight floor issue and the driver side fender needs replacing but other than that, the body is fairly straight. [/url] I've already got a new fender for the front but I'm at a loss for the floor...
