  1. Looking for a 2wd transmission, AX-15. Prefer an external slave, but would settle for internal. Located in PA, would drive to neighboring states within reasonable distance. Looking to buy ASAP. PM or post. Thanks
  2. well long story short, I sold this thing. Then that guy sold it, then I bought it back. Amazing how much someone can screw up a good jeep in a few months. Had a hole in the new gas tank I put in due to a busted rear driveshaft. clutch master and brakes system were shot. My tire mount and shifter were gone. Wires going every which way but where they needed to be.....list goes on. SO I got a new shaft and tank, rewired everything back to working order (accessories like fan etc) Put a new front axle in it with 4.56 gears, new master/booster combo, new brake master cyl. Hooked up on board air, and getting it inspected today. Just ordered 4,56 gears for the 8.8 and an AIR. Pics to come!
  3. Thanks for the heads up and the link! I already put the tank in before ya had time to respond. Ive replaced this thing 3 times now (none of which was even my fault haha!) so when its time for the skid Ill just drop it again. Getting it back on the road was my main priority right now.
  4. Kinda figured that was gona be an issue. Pulled my old tank out tonight and was looking at the frame and it doesnt appear to have threaded nuts where its supposed to bolt in to. If you don't mind sharing, it would be a good reference thread for any future searches if you posted here. If you would rather not I can take it to PMs. I'm probably going to just install the tank for now and get it back on the road, then mess with the skid when I have another shot of down time.
  5. Best part was he pulled it for me and all I had to do was put my tailgate down and throw it in the back!
  6. So I needed a new gas tank for the MJ. Its a long story but the tank ended up kissing the driveshaft! Found a guy right down the road from me who had the back half of an MJ sitting behind his shed. Told me I could have the tank, pump and 'skid' for $20. Figured it was the cheesy plastic skid as always, turns out it had a factory skid on it. Of all the scrounging Ive done and junkyard and CL, found everything hard to find like 44's and other little factory options, never seen a skid. Well lo and behold its the 23.5 gal tank in awesome shape AND the facotory longbox skid also in awesome shape. Woohoo!
  7. I need a gas tank, the large one preferably, from a long bed, skid would be nice too. Located in SE pa, anyone have on?
  8. I got one, thanks for the offers guys, now onto the next piece....
  9. Yea Ill keep it in mind if I don't find anything before then.
  10. About an hour and a half east of middletown!
  11. I'm driving out to middletown pa to pick up the truck in the next week or so, How close are you to that?
  12. How much would ya like for it shipped to 19344?
  13. Long story short I sold the truck, getting it back in a week. Don't worry about measurements and tell me what ya got and what combo it's out of....
  14. Sorry I slacked and didn't respond. It's gona be an 8.25 rear, it's got an 8.8 now. I'll take whatever driveshaft anyone has to offer and work with that. So long bed 4x4 either 44 rear or 35.
  15. I need a stock driveshaft from a longbed comanche with a transfer case,4wd length. Located in PA and would rather pick up if possible but UPS shouldnt be too expensive to ship through. Pm me or post up please.
  16. I got the rustys flares too. Somehow i lucked out and picked them up new unused for $75. No brainer.
  17. Finally got this thing into some trails. Next on the want list is a better beefier steering setup and tracbar. Going 1 ton. And at some point a low range box, be it a doubler or 4:1 conversion. Only one pic from yesterday. Also made a new spare mount. As well as put some wheel spacers on the 8.8.
  18. I was getting 19-20 with stock 88 2WD, now with 4wd and 33's I'm about 12 max. 5speed. I did put in a new gas tank at one point and when filling it from a new bone dry tank, it took a good 2+ gallons before it even registered on my gauge that there was any fuel in the tank. Good to know when my needle is buried at dead E, theres possibly still 2 gallons in there yet! :chillin:
  19. Sweet! Now you got me wanting one too.
  20. Got the 8.8 done and my gears done in the front. Nice to drive this thing finally! More pics soon...
  21. Buttoned up my 8.8 swap and drove it for the first time in 3 weeks.
  22. Good lookin truck. I once had a red one but now it's green with a red engine bay haha! Color is a minor detail for a nice straight MJ. 4wd swap is a labor of love, not all that difficult to achieve.
  23. Ive done rear TJ flares on the front and back of an XJ before. Fenxers were trimmed and i actually used 3m double sided tape on the rears. Held up great until the day i peeled them off on purpose. The fronts i just marked and drilled a couple holes and used small bolts with washers through the plastif ot the flare and the metal of the fender. The YJ flares arent as wide unless theyre aftermarket. The TJ flares covered 32 11.5 wide tires nicely.
  24. May e check over your bolts on the manifold and make sure theyre all snug. Ive had leaks from the runners closest to the radiator.
