Am i right in thinking that most of the parts(not engine related) from a 86 model can be used for the 88's. I think I'm fixing to buy a lwb and not hold out anymore for the short..who knows i may decide to shorten it myself down the road.

its out of a 92 cherokee..also what was the most common transmission that came in the 88 MJ's..4.0L 4wd? :roll:

I have found a MJ that has Chrysler 8.25 rear and dana30 front. 3:55 gears..Anybody ran this set up? Wondering if it is worth a darn.

I would like..shortbed..manual..4x4...4.0L....I want to get something to tinker w/...thinking of 6"lift...12/50 33's Ground Hawgs..Gonna have to make it a grocery getter/wheeler. Wife wants to be able to drive around town in it. :nuts:

Jeeeezus. When i decided on a MJ for my next project I didnt plan on it being so hard to find one. The cj5 is done and i need something to wrench on. :headpop: Just keep your eyes open for one :eek:

I would use the 3" channel and use a 2 1/2 or 2 x 5 ....3/16 wall tubing for the bumper. You could even hang a couple d-rings on the rear face for when you need to pull someone out. Being in the truck body manufacturing industry as i am does have a few advantages :brows:

Just thought i should warn ya. The MJ that is for sale in Ellenwood Ga isnt what it appears. It does have rust..does have leaks..both side windows are phukd and back window is broken. Its a repo job that i have already looked at and passed on. Just don't believe everything the seller says. Oh and by the way i was the one that informed him of the term death wobble. :nuts:

I have one identical to the one on the 2nd red comanche on this thread. I had it on my 88 long bed (red). I am trying to use it for possible trade negotiations if i can ever find me an MJ near georgia.

What does an AX-15 entail as far as swappin and how much $$$..I have set myself a budget on this thing. My wheelin buddies have a new name..CBFWD...cheap bastards four wheel drive..My cj5 is not a CBFWD as i have over 7K under the hood.

I think I'm gonna need the extra power cause I'm gonna be running either 33's or 35's if i ever find one

I heard recently to stay away from the earlier MJ's. I had an 88 at one time. Is the only reason the 2.8L or is there more to it than that?

Hey i may have found me an MJ..One problem..It has the 2.8L...I was really hoping for a 4.0L but i can get a good deal on this one..How tough is it to swap the2.8 out for the 4.0?
