  1. Thank you
  2. Any help is much appreciated
  3. I have the brackets from the mj bench seat out and ready to go. The problem I am running into is trying to remove the seat rails and brcakets from the cherokee bucket seats I have. Would anyone have any idea? I'm am just sitting here staring at the bottom of the seat currently. The bucket seats are from a 1988 cherokee pioneer with the curved rails
  4. A modern pump? Like from a 97+jeep
  5. Maybe down the line I can get an atlas @DirtyComanche I only mentioned the fiberglass because my granddad suggested it. I'll try the fiberglass stuff I started to buy. I thought it would have been a good fix haha. I'll look for metal to rivet in or weld in while the fiberglass is in Thanks for the support
  6. Hey guys. My 88 manche has a manual steering box. It seems like a good option but once the lift and the bigger tires go on I don't think it'll be as desirable. My main questions is if I will be able to pull of this tensioner pulley and add the power steering pump on my 2.5l tbi. I know I also have to change the steering gear box and get a reservoir and the lines for the pump. Would Anyone also know how to replace the bolt in the steering column? I may have nicked the first few threads so now the nut doesn't go on properly.
  7. Someone has been busy haha. I am definitely considering a modern look. The Comanche's deserve an update
  8. Yesterday I was able to get the bench seat out, and removed the vinyl flooring. Time to fix all the Holes in the driver side floor pan and paint it, I have heard that fiberglass is a good way to fix it or even getting the replacement panel. I am looking for a driver side Comanche seat bracket, because the one I have is missing a leg. The plan right now is to do all the interior work, floor pan, seats, center counsel etc, as I save money to be able to move on to rear axle swap, trans swap etc. I have to repaint some of the interior trim pieces. Let see how long it'll take me to finish the floors
  9. Thanks for the info bud
  10. I am pretty sure their mj was bought already with the 97+ swap done. Should I really start a new thread? So a stock fuel tank would be better than a rear mounted one?
  11. Sorry for bringing up an old thread but I didn't want to start a new one. Did anyone else see the jcroffroad Comanche and how they put a tj tank in the rear between the frame rails? I thought it was a cool idea and raise the ground clearance under the truck a few inches. My question is about the filler neck, the fuel sender unit, fuel pump and fuel lines? what would have to change to make it work?
  12. Love all the replies definitely going forward with DD'ing the manche
  13. Thanks for all the replies fellas. I pretty much have my mind made up. Going to keep building Wendy, my mj, get her streetable, sell my ranger and use some of the money to put into the mj to increase the reliability and comfort. Really have helped in more ways then one. maybe this thread will be useful to someone else
  14. I have a tbi 4banger, I have a mechanical skill set and it grows the more work I do myself to the Comanche. I did want to swap in a i6 but probably going to stick with the 4banger, a little different, may take some more money to get it to where I want it
  15. I definitely want to preserve it because it is a classic/antique, but I wouldn't want to build it and just have it sitting there, I guess it also helps that I just have a base model 4banger
  16. It has A/C but need freon or something because it blows air just not cold. This is very true... and the thought of someone wrecking her after I put all this work into her does scare me a bit but hopefully will not happen. My commute is mostly to school and work. Driving to college is about a 30-40 minute drive in the morning and going to work is about a 20 minute drive. That's about all the duty she will be doing with the wheeling/camping trip thrown in
  17. Thats what I was thinking, to fix alot of the weaknesses before I start to daily drive it The main reason was because "it's too old" followed by "its unreliable". Followed by no factual support or evidence 😂😂
  18. What are your opinions? I have had a few people tell me not to daily drive the Comanche because its too old. I just wanted to hear from some of you. My original plan was to try and eliminate any weak points from the truck from the beginning. Battery, starter, trans, ball joints, u joints, wheel bearings, radiator, etc
  19. That have the tach?
  20. I had been looking for a stock replacement honestly, hadn't been able to find one. thanks for the link. That one should just drop in right? if it doesn't sell right away, I'll get that. or just build my own with the glowshift gauges
  21. I was thinking of running this one Universal A-pillar gauge pod or Universal Triple Gauge Single Din Radio Face Pod or a Universal Triple Gauge Swivel Dashboard Pod In the pods I would run oil pressure, water temp, and fuel level, and some how retrofit a tach and speedo into the bezel. I really like the look of the radio face pod because nothing is sticking out to far or anything of the sort but no music while driving would drive me insane
  22. The tach on the speedo does seem small but at least its there
  23. That quad gauge actually looks really nice but would be a tight fit into the oem bezel
  24. I know a 91 Cherokee gauge cluster won't fit right? I will probably put a tach and speedo in the cluster bezel and run either an A pillar triple gauge pod, or a triple gauge pod on top of the dash or in the spot where the radio goes. I think in the spot where the radio goes would be the best but I would have to figure out the music situation
  25. Would Gauges from GlowShift work?
