  1. Great link, really helps explain it
  2. Havent taken my mj camping yet, but I would probably just use a ground tent and a sleeping bag
  3. @grinch How we would go about getting pictures posted?
  4. I see you as an advocator of 33s. Haha no problem in that I'm going 33s too, well actually 305/70r17s (33.8s)

long enough to not tear apart your fenders.  :D  honestly I'm not sure what number to give as the axles on my truck are different than yours.

  5. Thats normal though right?
  6. Today has been a good day honestly. I got home from school and A package was at my front door and It was my "new to me" ax15. I am excited to get started on this swap and get this ol girl on here feet I also bite the bullet and ordered the 4.5" lift kit from Rusty's. I know I wanted to go with the 6.5" but still being in school and probably transferring soon, I wanted to go with a slightly smaller setup keep more DD friendly and Plus I may not go over a 305/70r17 tire because of cost per tire, and it wouldn't strain the axles and motor too much Should I get new upper control arms too?
  7. I read that as well on multiple forums but I also read that the difference between a 488 and 513 is one more tooth on the pinion. I heard theres no difference in strength
  8. Last time i checked you can. Yukon 5.13
  9. I'm probably going to run 33s, just because less wear and tear, cheaper tires, and plus I already have a set at my house. Still going to do 6.5" lift, may go down to 4.5 but not 100% sold on that idea. I was also planning to go to 513s. I was trying my best to no cheap out and right the first time around so I wouldnt have to worry much about it drive trian wise
  10. The lever part with the shift gate? Are they the same between the 2 tcases, or am I mistaken?
  11. Are the shifters different between a 231 tcase and a 242?
  12. @88whitemanche Yeah i guess its because the np242 sye isnt as popular as the np231. And the plan was to go at least 6.5" lift w/ long arms. I don't if I would go higher
  13. Swapping it as well. I have already found a np231 that I could possibly get
  14. @Jeep Driver i got the np242 from the parts cherokee I had from when I first got the mj. I didnt want to get a new tcase but I can be persuaded. Arent the shiftgates different between an 231 and a 242. The sye kit for the 242 is abput $480 from rusty's offroad before shipping and a driveshafts
  15. Getting it from Walt @88whitemanche, hopefully this week or next week
  16. Hey guys. Looking for input now the next parts to order for my mj. I already have the ax15 trans. My main concern is my transfer case. I have a np242 with a 21 spline input, so I have to get a 23 spline. Since I would have the tcase apart should I get the sye too? I know mjs don't really need them, but I thought since the tcase would be apart why not. **if I don't get the sye I would just order all the parts to swap in the ax15
  17. I was going to ask that at some point too. Haha

    Sponsors?

No need to be sorry, that was exactly my thought sending the proposal. I knew I probably wasn't going to get anything out of it but I was hopeful and still gave it a shot

    Sponsors?

Yeah I know. I work and go to college full time. If I could pickup another job I would. but my school schedule during the week doesn't allow me too because of the odd hours my classes are at

    Sponsors?

This is just like a random kinda thread for those late night web surfers. I wanted to know if anyone has tried, or currently has a sponsor/sponsorship from any company. I had a failed attempt at trying to work out some kind of sponsorship with Rusty's Offroad profucts. I sent them an official proposal, pictures of my mj, and future build plans. It is safe to say that they never contacted me back even after a few phone calls with them asking about the status of the proposal and getting the same response. I mean I wasn't expecting much because I am 19, no previous sponsor experience, no actual build experience, or show experience (like SEMA etc ). But it was worth a shot am I right? I am sorry for the rant, I just wanted to share my experience so far, and I want to hear from so of you
  21. Thank you thank you, I'm trying haha If it was up to me I would still have the Cherokee so I can still have those parts accessible and use it as a place to store spare parts. But since I live at home with my mom at only 19, She wanted my neck everyday the Cherokee was out there in front of the house
  22. I am going longarms as soon as I do the lift. Rusty's 6.5" longarm
  23. External from 1997 cherokee
  24. A little interior mock up before the center counsel comes out to do the trans swap and tcase
  25. Thanks to @mfpdm's write up in the Diy section I was able to convert my bench brackets to buckets (Below you can kinda see the repair work I did on the floor pans)
