  1. Driveline Specialities has a website, that looks like the place to go. they do everything I need.
  2. I was hoping to find a shop/garage to do axle gears/bearings. Hopefully in the duluth area or close to.
  3. Are there any offroad/4x4 shops in the area
  4. I'm already on there. Traffic has been kinda slow lately
  5. Depends on why your using it for. Is it a off road only truck or are you going to be driving it on a regular basis. Everything is a chain reaction, the higher you go the more stuff you have to correct. Off road only: do what you want. go high but, you have to plan on fixing the steering, possibly the sway bar, these things add up cost wise. My truck is a 8.5 inch lift with SOA. Hind sight, way to high. My rig is a DD, if I was to do it over I would do a 4-6 inch lift , bushwacker flat flares. and still run 35's. At 8 inches it is pushing the limits of the stck steering, and the other steering options could cause legal issues on the road, like using hiem joints. Or doing a full axle swap to get a true crossover steering setup.
  6. hornbrod, remeber what they say about the navy, Big grey and Underway, Coast guard small white and home at night. So During the winter in MN, specifically the duluth area, what do people do for traction in the snow, do people use chains, get studded tires, or get a set of snow tires? Just wondering, I got a brand new set of General Grabber A/T 2's mounted on my wifes grand cherokee. neohic- I am really thinking of getting with you about having a rear bumber built. I want to have a hitch built into it.
  7. 3 or 4 years ago when I had to break down and get a car for commuting, I snagged a 93 honda civic for 2k. I did the timing belt right away since it was over due mileage wise. i put 1000 miles a month on it and its great, 34 mpg, but it is small. lately at work all the kids are grabbing subaru's and seem to be have a good time with them, high 20's for MPG and all wheel drive. I though about getting one when I move to duluth. One ? neohic, do people use chains up there or do they get studded tires for the winter, or do they just now how to drive in the snow.
  8. hornbrod, yes sar duty at the small boat station. sounds like fun guys, I need to get a few more things for the truck, like a new front shaft that is longer than the stock one was. are there any junk yards in the area?
  9. NEEDED: stock MJ shackles, or 1 inch lift xj shackles. I need them cheap or maybe some sort of trade. I have RockKrawlers heavy duty shackles and they are to high now, I would be willing to trade them they worked great for a little lift, but those plus brand new Metric ton leaves = a 3 inch rake Rock Krawlers shackles have 2 positions tallest is 7" eye to eye. 12. sure enough, cut off the old fuse holder terminal and crimped on a new one and it works awesome. thanks
  13. I am sorry, but you were looking for help and in the process I was laughing so hard it brought tears to my eyes. its ironice that you tested you CSS with a Multimeter and it checked good, and robert said I don't care my stuff saids its not. in the end his stuff was wrong, you paid for a new CSS and got a laugh/payback.
  14. so I have been tracing down wiring issues and I thought I got all of them, so I put the dash back together, and put the fuse block back in, and low and behold another issue pops up the parking lamp fuse is melting, I use a stock amp use, when I put it in I can see the connection light up and glow, it gets warm and melts the plastic around the fuse blade but does not pop the fuse. whats the problem here? what do I look for.
  15. I have a pitman arm from a 97 V8 ZJ that is already pulled off, just waiting to go into a box. I believe it drops the same a wrangler. I know its taller than a XJ. I sell it to you. PM me.
  16. We have all become accustomed to the electrical gremlims that go along with our old @$$ trucks! One issue is the turn signals or blinkers stay lit up or solid when you activate them. what most of the long time board members recommend is checking your turn signal sockets(both of them) if your having issues this is step one, its what was wroong with mine. the other issue is depending on what part of the country you are in it can be real hard to get a replacement part. So here the help. I found at Car Quest part number S69 is the perfect replacement. It is on the HELP rack. on the box it says it is for 80-77 american motors hope I can alleviate someones frustration Allen
  17. usually the carpet kits from Rock auto are ACC kits. I put a ACC kit in my 87, It is molded to the hump and the back step where it gets kinda funny. motion is right just take you time Remember ( measure twice cut once) I laid the carpet out in the sun on a warm day to get it to be a little more plyable. I also went to a auto upholstery shop and got extra padding. it helps.
  18. the ones in backdrafts post are the ones I have, they work great. in a pinch all you need is a file to massage the holes a little bit. they look close to the original and function like the original
  19. So one thing leads to a nother with theese trucks. I have a short somewhere in the loom that is affecting the stereo and clock so I pulled the whole dash out to trace the wires. In the process I tore the vent tubing in half any body have an idea on what to use or where to look? allen
  20. that duct hose Takes hot air off the exhaust manifold and routes it into the intake to warm up the engine faster, I took mine off the first day I bought it. You being in the warmer part of cali shouldn't need it.
  21. I might have the bracket from mine in a baggy somewhere in my garage, and a few screws. if thats all you need I can send it to you for a couple bucks. Allen
  22. are you 100% positive it is leaking through the door. pretty common to have water leaking past thewire hanrness bulkhead connection just above the clutch
  23. its a 4.0, what is the difference between the manual and auto. I need the one for the manual. its a flat connection with 3 wires you understand what I am looking for right, I need the "male side" plus a few inches of the wires thanks $500 mj
  24. alright I am replacing the engine wiring harness, I got a full harness from a board member who stated that the TPS had been cut off, ( not really a big deal), So I am looking for the harness side of the TPS connection, plus a few inches of wire. NOT the tps. Allen
