First, the best thing to do is drop the tank and do this again on a bench. being underneath is NO FUN when gas is dripping. OEM tanks will have a little plug that the sending unit plugs onto inside the tank, thats what I've always used to get it positioned right. It is difficult to do, but it places it in the right position.

Might have to fuel cell it dude. aftermarket.

I found a windshield visor on the side of the highway (no kidding!) and grabbed it. It looks like it's about 1-2" too wide on each side, but otherwise fits on angle and such. Is their a way to reattach the fiberglass pieces if I cut the 1" out of it on each side between the outside and inside marker lights? Thanks

Somebody around here has a rollbar with it mounted on the angled down-runs of it over the fender wells. like a rock crawler.

Hey if you're still having this issue, replace the fuel pump. I went through this EXACT problem. It was the pump.

$300 bucks I will buy a aftermarket fuel pump sender and a fuel cell. now thats an idea.....

I was fairly under the belief that they did match, at least on the front end. Thus why an XJ windshield will fit in the MJ. Or the doors.

Blinks normal for a second, then speeds up top the 'error' style. Left and Right both. Yet, all four light bulbs work.

In my ever going attempts to make this ugly truck very abused by its PO better, i got a severely drooping headliner. Is their a point in having the carpet and such there? Or is it cosmetic?

Could always get a pull throttle. We have one on our old rescue truck to keep the RPMs up around 2500rpm to not drain the battery with the strobes and lightbars. It basicly is just a pull knob that has enough tension to hold a certain position on the idle cable. thought about one myself.

whats the width for replacement lines of the 4.0 87 Renix engines exhaust? Specifically at the portion in the line where it is between the front clip and cab, in the straight run back, after the 90º bends. Thats where it broke. I need to get this sealed up, and need to know? I got some basic line ran from an old setup I had, and it's 2.25" ID, but very very loose. I'm guessing 2" OD?

awesome info guys. got it off with me +2. The guy i am getting a lot of the MJ parts from (separate thread) basically uses the MJ as a lawn ornament since it had a dash fire. He had it pegged at 150 yards from his porch, and was working on his driving. pissed me off too. but thats what I get for free and cheap parts.

on a side note, it's humorous having a sheriff follow you waiting for the load to shift. Got it home from my buddies with it upside down and backwards. sadly, a golf ball hit a tail light, so i only have one good one to sell.

Where are the mounting bolts? How much does it weigh?

i tried it today with just a typical socket wrench and I was able to get to most of em, but that ratcheting one, i might have to pick that up.

Whats an easy way to get the door removed from the hinge? I got a pair of 99 XJ doors I want to replace mine with.
