as I'm reputting everything together I also encounter some probs first the tranny support wasn't the same so had to change that prior to installing it then I remembered that the bolts sheared right off so I was kind of :hmm: but then after putting the cross member on the tranny, I noticed that it didn't fit at the same place anyway then I tought that I bought a tap set  gonna put it to good use for the first time then I redrilled and tapped here's what it look like then I was pissed at my cordless drill and went and bought a cord one but didn't have time the next day to finish more to come soon as I finish to install all the wire harness and the front end -

Today I use the great temperature we had in Alberta to good use me and my budy for calgary came down to give me a hand with this so we finished taking everything off the motor in the XJ to pull it out the only major prob we encountered was the passenger side motor mount bolt was entered from the back but the oil filter is in the way so we ended up taking the whole bracket off to take the motor out on this one we can see what we fished out what a nice catch ho and by the way thats me and finaly the engine is in with a bit of :hmm: and some :wall: but luckily I had a late 86 so no massaging the fire wall -
well I started taking apart the XJ (DAMN IT carpooler will be leaving sooner then expected) and I saw som major difference with both trucks for starter the piece that goes above the rad is not the same as the one originaly on the MJ and the XJ one will not fit without major fabing second the rad doesn't fit between the fender without again some major cuting I need advice from people who have done this before please Ill be pulling the engine tommorow or the next day and will need to fit everything around it verry soon Dom

looking at this post right now I'm wondering if I would keep mine to I think I also have an S-10 bumper on my MJ but mine was sticking out so far out back I might cut the bottom of the bed just under the tail lights (anyway there rusted to sh*t) and try to fit the bumper right to where the bed ends and right under the tail gate

Head Gasket Torque Spec 1986 2.5
wannabeMJ replied to Cheech's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I would say its all in regards to the gasket your using the tork your applying to the bolts will compress it making the proper seal the newer gasket will use a higher tork then want a cardboard gasket would ( or what a cork type would to) -

after being gone away for the last 2 weeks I started working on the truck again I strated taking apart the XJ I got all the interior out and started painting all the parts Image Not Found and I also got the carpet out of the XJ to put in the MJ I know its not a perfect fit but it'll do the job just fine the only prob was that the damn thing was soaked lolllllllll so I got to let it dry before I put it in Image Not Found and I also took out the white backing that looked like a giant tampon -
here are the 2 cluste the top one is the 86 MJ and the bottom one the 90 XJ Image Not Found the back of the 86 Image Not Found and the back of the 90 Image Not Found 15 pins on 1 and 16 on the other
