  4. We just got back from custom ordering this beauty If anyone is interested in buying our used JKU let me know. I will post a more detailed listing in classifieds if anyone is interested - we would like to get 19,000 obo: 08 with 122k. Runs and drives great - new leather seats, tinted windows, Falken ATs and more. St. Louis Missouri Area 91 4.0 Manual 2X4 Shortbed with 225k St. Louis MO

You will most likely have to put money into it but it depends on how much certain things bother you. I've had mine for a few months and plan to fix the leaks, quarks, and dents but not all at once. I'd just say to get a mechanically solid truck that drives good. Check for rust where everyone suggests on here. 91 4.0 Manual 2X4 Shortbed with 225k St. Louis MO
  6. Not yet, I wanted to get input if the ignition switch is likely the culprit or if it could be something else, but I will definitely try that before replacing! I don't have a ton of experience with fixing vehicles so I'm not confident in my diagnosis. *screenshotting that diagram tho!! 91 4.0 Manual 2X4 Shortbed with 225k St. Louis MO
  7. I think I may need to replace my ignition switch? Just wanted to see if anyone knew for sure before I start tearing stuff apart. The problem: the truck starts and runs fine but certain components will randomly and sporadically quit working. Radio, turn signals, wipers, "air". They will work if I put pressure on my key like the picture below but cut in and out randomly. I was looking through cruisers tips and somehow ended up at a video of replacing the ignition switch and thought that might be the fix. Anyone else had these issues? Truck is a 91 4.0 Manual 2x4 with 225k - seems pretty stock. *Things to possibly consider: PO had wired in a 3way cigarette lighter that I recently uninstalled- just put electrical tape over the ends of the wires. I also just put in a new head unit (stereo) but reused the wiring harness. Issues were present before the head unit install and I'm not sure about before the cigarette lighter uninstall. Truck previously chose which days it wanted to have functioning heat, but that could unrelated altogether. 91 4.0 Manual 2X4 Shortbed with 225k St. Louis MO

Yea! I was impressed that I didn't have any overheating issues or anything. It passed the toughest test I plan on putting it through at 5+ hours @ 65mph with plenty of hills. It's going to be a long project but plan to keep this Jeep in the family for a long time. Your mj looks like a beast! [emoji106][emoji36][emoji57]
  9. Thanks Pete! The garage got some upgrades!
  10. Jealous!! That will be my next rc for sure. I have an ecx roost. Drove it into a storm drain the first week I had it so I already had to replace the servo and receiver. Killed any bargaining power with the wife on upgrades
  11. Mines wooden egg-shaped, but I'm one the lookout for a beer tap that would work- just don't want it to be obnoxious

Yea, I will have to post on here next time we plan to be in JC. The drivers floor pan had a big hole in it but they patched it- I still need to pull up the flooring and look it over and do some work to cut all the rust out but I sprayed some rust reformer on it right away.
  15. I will defiantly be back around JC, my brother is stationed there and just bought a house so if you still have 1 available that'd be awesome!

Hey everyone - I'm Dillon finally found a Comanche! Just brought home the "new" truck on Saturday. Black 91 short bed 4.0 rwd manual 225k. Drove it from Junction City Kansas home to St. Louis. 5+ hours with no issues! (Other than some headlight flickering) It's my first mj, we also have an 08 JK that the wife drives. As far as I can tell it's pretty much stock except for the seats and crappy pioneer stereo (that's connected to home theater speakers). Drivers floorpan has been redone, has some random patches of rust but overall really good. The tailgate works, looks like new cap and wires, and it just passed Missouri safety inspection with no problems so I'm happy with it!! It's my new daily! I traded it for my 07 charger that had 190k, I'm betting this will outlast the charger by a long shot! Drivers side does have some front fender damage and a few dings down the side but doesn't really bother me at the moment. I plan to eventually convert to 4x4 and probably give it a small lift with AT tires so it can handle a little off-roading. To Do List: Oil change, fix parking brake, install bumper, paint job (cheap at home), needs tail pipe, new stereo, headliner, fix pillar lights, switch someone for a bench seat?, find front grill (mines cracked & chopped up) oil pressure gauge doesn't work.
  18. St.louis area (st.peters) just got the truck from Junction City Kansas. 91 4.0 manual rwd. The wife drives an 08 jk. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Dillon Just got my first Mj. 91 short bed 4.0 manual rwd. Live in St. Peter's Missouri (just outside St. Louis) Just got the truck from Junction City Kansas- it made the 5+ hour drive home averaging 65 with no problems at 225k except some headlight fluttering. Plus it just passed Missouri safety inspection with no issues!! The wife drives an 08 jk. I plan to eventually convert to 4x4 and possibly add a small lift/AT tires but it's my DD for now. Would be interested in possibly switching someone for a bench seat? - mine has buckets that appear to be custom done(welded to a metal plate) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks guys!! Think I might be a Comanche owner tomorrow!!!!!!! Beyond excited!
  21. Good- just wanted to make sure it wasn't an ax-5 or a Peugeot

    Vin decoder

Can anybody help me with decoding a vin number? I tried to search the threads with no luck. Trying to figure out which transmission is in it. It's a 91 manual 5 speed RWD. Thanks
  23. Still searching!
  24. The one from Indy has no ac and you guys talked me out of the 4cyl so it's back to searching. Does anyone know of any 4.0 mjs for sale anywhere around the St Louis area- willing to drive 4 or so hours.
  25. Update: may have found a new love interest! http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/cto/5919841707.html Seems like most are saying the 4.0 is a more reliable engine and of course 4x4 will come in handy. Just hate the red interior.
