  3. Photo dump of how the truck currently sits. Just posted for sale - don’t want to but a baby and no airbags isn’t a combo for me.
  4. Got mine from Affordable off-road.They had a few options for cherokees. Fits well but I’m not in love with the gaps between the fender and bumper. https://affordableoffroad.com/shop/affordable-prerunner-front-bumper-jeep-cherokee-xjcomanche-84-01/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks [mention]jdog [/mention]! That is pretty cool that it was military ordered. It makes sense since I got it from Junction City Kansas where Fort Riley is located (my brother was actually stationed there when I picked it up). Is that why it doesn’t specify “pioneer” or “eliminator”, etc? Fun fact, I am exactly 5 days older than my truck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Been awhile since I’ve worked on the truck. 2020 has been crazy. Got a new bumper and some KC lights and finally got around to putting the new grille in. Still have to wire the lights and clean up the gaps in between the bumper and fenders. I think I am going to rig up the factory bumper caps to fit it there for now. A little bondo on the front clip to fill rock chips and hopefully find some time for a 20ft paint job soon. My wife got the repainted valve cover and gasket installed so it doesn’t leak much now! Purchased from used car lot in Junction City Kansas and driven 5 hours home to St. Louis area. Traded straight across for used Dodge Charger with hail damage. Undergoing amateur home “restoration”. See Moparbrowns Manche for build updates. https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/topic?share_fid=53169&share_tid=53308&url=https%3A%2F%2Fcomancheclub%2Ecom%2Findex%2Ephp%3F%2Ftopic%2F53308-Moparbrowns-Manche&share_type=t&link_source=app Notes: Seemed pretty much stock when purchased except floors had been patched and bench seat swapped out to buckets. No rear bumper when purchased, think it was that way from stock as it had the liscense plate light. Had square front off-road style lights on bumper not sure if stock. Short bed. Black exterior paint, blue dash, light grey interior panels, black vinyl floor, 5-speed, bed mat (factory?). I have done basic repairs to keep it running and installed new bumpers front and rear plus KC spread lights. 8. You got it! Send me a message with your email and it’s yours!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I’m sure most of you got this email as well but I’m Going to be out of town so I can’t use this coupon. I will email it to the first person to respond. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Put in a another clutch master cylinder - went with LUK Brand this time based on reviews, so far so good. Also a new heater valve and heater core flush. Got some cosmetic parts in today and progress on my “mini manche”. Camping weather is coming so I’m sure progress wil slow down even more than usual - as long as it stays running! 240k and still marking its territory with oil like a young buck... 12. Saw this on Instagram and thought of the club. Get a custom drawn digital sketch of your vehicle plus a time lapse of it being done for just $50 this weekend. @Pronky on Instagram Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Updated version guys, let me know if there’s anything that looks off Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Haven’t messed with it yet, I was going to unplug it quick the other day but it’s pretty greasy to get to it so decided to wait, plus it’s really cold in the garage! I will update when I get a chance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I completely understand Eagle. I think the truck is great and don't mind the font, the tires just seem to be lacking from my view. I did a couple rough concepts. (really rough without .ai files) Just some ideas. Criticize away! Also, If nobody can find .ai files I would be willing to try to recreate the logo so the club has vector files.
  16. EasyFind is great search engine for your computer to find files. I’d like to see a version with some more realistic/beefy tires. I do graphic design so I’d be happy to mock up a couple versions if anyone else is interested? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Does anyone know why my parking brake light would be stuck on? The brake didn’t work when I bought the truck so I never use it and one day it just lit up and has never went off. Sprayed some electronics cleaner and wd40 all over the pedal below the dash but nothing changed Then I’ll have to search for a writeup to actually fix the brake, another day another project.. 18. I will add them in the tech forum- thanks! Not sure, but there wasn’t a wire on the corresponding opposite side so I decided it was a problem for another day?[emoji1745]‍[emoji3603] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Update: Seems as though it was my “headlights”. The switch that controls them was burnt up and melted inside and my headlights eventually stopped working. DIY writeup here- https://comancheclub.com/topic/57308-headlights-not-working-solution/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I will have to look up the relay mod and get it done [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Did some more work this weekend. Refreshed some grounds from Cruiser’s tips and fixed my headlights. DIY write up here - https://comancheclub.com/topic/57308-headlights-not-working-solution/ Still trying to chase down a steady oil leak and figure out if this red wire is for my running lights/amber? Its the harness behind the drivers headlight by the air box. Problems for another day.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I’ve had intermittent issues with my headlights since I bought my 1991 Comanche 4.0 manual 2x4 and finally found the problem, the headlight switch was burnt up and bad. Got a new part from advance auto for $20, Part number S940 and everything’s working again. see below for removal and install instructions. https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/bwd-headlight-switch-s940/5971047-P?searchTerm=Headlight+switch Symptoms: Headlights Intermittent working, flickering when hitting a bump, high beams and turn signals still work but no headlights. Difficulty finding the sweet spot to activate lights when pulling out the headlight knob. Smoke coming from windshield dash vent on driver side (could be a rare symptom as mine was melted/burnt). 1.Step one is eliminating any other reasons for headlights not working because the switch isn’t the easiest to get to. I checked fuses and did tips 1 & 3 from Cruiser’s mostly Renix tips found here http://cruiser54.com. This still didn’t help so I tore into the dash. First you should remove your negative cable from your battery so you don’t short or shock anything. Next, remove the screws holding the shroud around your instrument cluster. Grab the cover from the bottom and pull out- it should unclip. Next, remove the cluster for fog light switch. 1 screw and 3 wire connections to disconnect on my truck. Then unscrew your instrument cluster- I didn’t unhook any connections, just moved it to the side. Next is removing the pull knob for the headlights. I removed the bottom panel (that includes the ashtray) for easier access but it may not be necessary. There is a hole directly below the knob under the dash that you can stick your finger up into and push up on a small pin that will release the headlight knob allowing you to pull it all the way out. Then you can unscrew the metal piece with a flat screwdriver that locks the switch into the dash. Your switch assembly is now free and ready to disconnect the wires. 1 main connection on the side and a small wire on the back. This was not easy to get to, so I used a flat screwdriver to help pry it off. Plug in your new switch and test if your lights work. My cluster of wires was looped around another set and after untangling them it was much easier to plug back in. old and new Fixed! Time for (more) beer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Hey Jess, what did you end up going with and how did it work out? I bought a car quest from advance that’s only 5 months old and already leaking again/about to go bad. The one before that looked to be the same from the PO and not very old that went out on me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
