  1. Not sure, but I think you may have a problem.
  2. Mine is done like in the pic above, in place of the factory distribution block. Same valve even. A note- This valve will not keep full pressure to the fronts if you lose pressure in the rear. When I blew a wheel cylinder, even with the bias set completely to the front, I was still losing fluid at the rear, and had barely enough pedal to stop the truck.
  3. Please, Hijack away.... It'll be a boring thread if it's just me in here.
  4. No worries, That's perfect. Now I can get that knocked off my list. And thanks, I tend to get a bit OCD, which strangely is a good thing and bad thing at the same time..
  5. I'll get in on this
  6. Well, USPS showed up and dropped off a couple of packages. The terminals for the a/c harness came in Also, a used shifter from an AX-5 Cherokee. (On right) They appear to be very similar, but I noticed the knob position was different while in gear.. (New shifter on right, or bottom depending on how photobucket screws up) The lower section is shorter, and the upper section is longer. Hopefully this will stop the knob from slamming the dash. Now, stupid question, but... Does the lower section go in like this: Or like this? I've flipped it back and forth so many times I just can't recall.
  7. Hmm, Okay. maybe I'll just keep that in storage for now. I think the main issue was not having wheelwell liners, and the fenders just catching the wind.
  8. Well, I blew out a wheel cylinder on the freeway the other day. Used my proportioning valve to try to isolate the front brakes, Turns out it doesn't completely disconnect the rear output. Still managed to get me home, but the ability to hold pressure in that rear line would be nice. Think I can come up with something So I'm putting off that repair for a bit, and tearing back into the interior. Our last trip up to D/FW, was just too loud. I just installed new fender liners which should help a lot, But I also have 25 sq.ft of dynamat that I'm going to install. Besides, this gives me a chance to fix all the wiring and dash shortcuts I took, since I was in such a rush earlier. I may go ahead and finish one project I set aside. So, I promised a few more pictures, so here's how she sits currently.
  9. Thanks, I tend to get a bit OCD on my engines.. Thanks, I'll do my best to keep adding more and updating the thread.
  10. Thanks for the confirmation. I'll try to hit pick n pull again this weekend, or hopefully source one somewhere for a decent price.
  11. It was a lot of work, but so worth it. I actually did the everything from the cab forward, Underneath and inside as well. Thanks! Actually, I did replace them all. The major components are all from different years, so I had to get creative with the hoses. They still don't fit quite right, but they hold pressure.
  12. Tomorrow I'll flip that lower section around the proper way and double check, but from the picture it does seem to have less of a bend on yours than on mine. Strange.
  13. Mine came out of an ax-4 Thanks for the pic, I'll have to examine that. You picked the proper interior color, btw.
  14. I would love to have that, But the move still has my bank account tapped out. It is, I made sure It does work, It's down in there. With the lower portion reversed, I can't even mount the console. The only thing I can think of is that the lower portion is different from the ax-4 to ax-15. I can't recall seeing any difference, though. I lost the other parts in the move, so I can't verify it. I suppose I could put another bend in the shifter, but I'd rather do it right.
  15. Thanks, It's turning out better than I hoped.
  16. Here's a couple of pics. you can see I have the lower shifter portion reversed. With it in the correct position, I have to slam the shift knob pretty hard into the dash to get into the upper gears. (In Neutral) A pic of the transmission placement:
  17. Okay, I suppose it's time for a quick update. The truck is back together, and drives! It's still far from finished, But I suddenly got a new job here in San Antonio, so I had to make a mad rush to get it drivable. But it made a couple of trips to D/FW and back, so I guess it's good. Here's a couple of pics, I took some of the exterior, but they came out bad. So, More tomorrow. The Interior: Still somewhat disassembled, but it's getting there.. And my pride and joy: The engine bay. This is almost what I had envisioned for the truck, still needs work, But still looks so clean. I'll post up more tomorrow, now that we're settled in, I should have a bit more free time.
  18. I pulled the crossmember from a 96 XJ. I would have grabbed the shifter as well, but pick-n-pull was soft-crushing all the early xj's for some reason. I'll take some tonight and post them up. I suppose it's possible, but I was told it's a factory mj/xj part.
  19. I used the base plate from the 1990 AX-15, so no issues there. I'm thinking the pivot ball section of the shifter may be different, but unfortunately, I don't have the other part to check. I suppose this is possible, But wouldn't the shifter be at an awkward angle at the knob? It's unlikely, but anything is possible at this point, I suppose.
  20. I placed the lower part with the pivot ball in a vise, then drove the parts apart with a drift punch and hammer.
  21. The AX-15 and 4.0 came from a 1990 Comanche, and I used a 98 XJ bellhousing to go external slave. I think I used the lower shifter part from the ax-4, and the upper from the ax-15, or vice-versa. I don't recall seeing any differences, but something's not right.
  22. I'm having an issue with the shifter for the AX-15 I swapped into my Comanche. With the shifter installed correctly, The upper part contacts the dash when I go for 1st, 3rd, or 5th. If I reverse the lower pivoting part, and turn the upper part around, It hits the console in 2nd, 3rd, reverse. I'm sure the transmission is in the correct place, Does anyone know if the ax4 and ax15 shifters are different? I have a feeling I may have used components of both when I put it back together.
  23. Apparently WalMart re-brands it, but from what I've read, It's pretty decent. (for oils at that cost)
