Taking apart Speedo Cable ?
AMC86Kid replied to AMC86Kid's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have got it apart now and it does work on the 86 but you just got to mod the back of the gauge to get the new cable to clip on, my old one appears to be the original one and the wire is all cracked up and peeling off -

Rear white back up lights wiring ?
AMC86Kid replied to AMC86Kid's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ok I hooked it up like you said and it works for some reason it wouldn’t tone out but after sending power threw it then it worked and decided to tone out maybe it was just dirty -
You would have been better off buying a good aftermarket carburetor like a Weber cause the original carb is very complicated

Does anyone know how the rear white back up lights work, what actually turns them off and on I thought it would be this switch on the tranny but I can only get it to tone out on the middle pin and ground only when it’s in neutral all other wires I get no tone at all when it’s in any mode of shift

Are you able to cut it and weld if needed to make an adjustment on it ?
-
Are you talking about a specific unit ? If so can you post a pic of it or a link ? you could always just buy an inverter and make one yourself there real easy to wire but your gonna need some thick wires

'86 2.8L v6 with a 3.5" lift and 31x10.5s
AMC86Kid replied to Jdeem35's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have the standard 15 inch wheels i would say to not lift it because you don’t have enough power for the upgrade I think it will hurt your gas mileage because the vehicle will be taller so that will produce more drag at highway speeds -

What are these relays for ?
AMC86Kid replied to AMC86Kid's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Would be nice if the actual relay says that but it only has a part number and the terminals are numbered 1,2,3 so there’s really no way of knowing -

Does anyone know how to wire the white horn relay ? It surprisingly only has 3 prongs I thought it would have 4 -
I will try to hook it up to a ground and see if that changes anything
