  1. I’m also wondering about where those two wires go to, the thicker yellow wire must be positive and both wires come from the main electrical harness but where do they lead too ?
  2. I called the 1-800 number on the box and the guy said that the negative terminal is the green wire with the white line on it I guess i will hook it up and see and see if it works
  3. Ok so I bought a Equus Tach and I'm looking at the instructions it says to connect the signal wire from the tach to the negative wire of the coil so my question to you guys is which wire is that ?
  4. seems like the gas gauge works I'm gonna look up some good tachs that are simple to install let me know if you guys have any links to get a nice tach I'm looking for one that dosent have a super high rev limit number on it hopefully a max of 6k would be nice
  5. Ok so my volt gauge works so I know the plug in the back of the instrument cluster must be hooked up correctly but my rpm gauge just redlines the whole time and my mph gauge wobbles a lot and stays around 15 the whole time
  6. Ok guys I’m putting my dash back in today and I was needing to check all the gauges to see if they work and most importantly I needed to get the rpm gauge to work so that I can set the timing correctly does anyone have any info or links on the RPM gauge or gas gauge I know mine don’t currently work right now
  7. Maybe there’s something wrong with my turn key switch then
  8. Nice I just did it with the rear wheels up and put a strap on my steering wheel to the driver chair so the wheels go back straight after a turn, it worked out pretty good also I don’t know about everyone else’s truck but mine doesn’t lock the steering wheel even in park
  9. I just put it in neutral and I’m going about 15 miles I’m just wondering if it’s easier to turn with the front wheels slightly turning as you turn
  10. Is it easier to tow my MJ on a car dolly with the front tires up on the dolly or the rear tires up on it , I thought maybe someone would know one which is best so when you turn it has a less likely chance of sliding off
  11. Do you have a pic of the actual alternator?
  12. You need to post pics of the actual alternator and it’s plug where the wires go so we can see what type of Alt it is and what type of pin output it has
  13. Nice i wonder if they make any with a lower max rpm number cause I’m never gonna go 6700 rpm
  14. Yes I plugged the distributer into the 2.8’s electrical connector ignition is the same I just turn the key
  15. It still has the stock Tach in it from the 2.8 currently using and electric distributer
  16. I’m gonna go pick it up now and see
  17. My doesn’t work correctly when you hit the gas it just soars up in rpm to a crazy number only reason why I really need it right now is so I can set my timing at the correct rpm
  18. i found this and its a 4 wire https://www.autozone.com/electrical-and-lighting/voltage-regulator-connector/dorman-voltage-regulator-connector-85118/438887_0 not sure if it fits but well see
  19. Does anyone know where i can get one of these plugs for cheap ?
  20. Does anyone know any good aftermarket Tachs that I can install on my truck also if there’s any info on how the stock tach works would be nice to, I’m pretty sure mine is broke but I could at least check it out to confirm my belief
  21. Well I got a new alternator hooked everything up turned the vehicle on and got 14 volts Success Boy am am I happy to see it work like it’s suppose to
  22. Well boys I put in the new seal cleaned and lubed it up real good like Eagle said So far it looks good I would be surprised if it leaked now
  23. Well I hooked it up like in the diagram and spun it with a drill at 900 rpm and I got to dummy light to turn off so I think it works and I excited it now I just got to get it back in the truck and spin it faster
  24. Yes I believe it does open after it’s warm
