    Veterans Day

Thank you to all who served.
  2. I believe it's: Euramtec A-7180-BC They are often marketed for the Delorean as they are direct replacement for the dome light.

    Knock on the door?

    Yeah probably. Frustrating blessing tho

    Knock on the door?

Didn't get a chance to go today. The wife locked our psycho border collie in the bedroom while she was running errands yesterday, came back to shredded carpet and a chewed up door. That turned into finding mold and other unpleasantries under the carpet and a whole new set of plans for the weekend.. maybe even all new floors ugh.. As soon as I get an opportunity I will pay a visit to the MJ house.

    Knock on the door?

Oh I definitely think it's weird hence why I've done nothing about it yet. I feel weird enough just detouring a block off the main road to drive past and see if it's still there.
  6. Leds are a must in them. Just don't look at them directly or you'll go blind. No dark spots in the cab tho.

    Knock on the door?

Definitely wouldn't stay for longer than snap picture of VIN and keep moving. Definitely don't like the idea of snooping around people's stuff.

    Knock on the door?

Why is tires size always asked first? There is one of those diesel mercs for sale around here, immediately thought about it going in an MJ. Lol. It's crazy what people say sometimes. Yeah nice it is.

    Knock on the door?

Yeah I don't know if it's because I'm closer to Des Moines or what. I don't see much for older vehicles at all except for the occasional muscle car in the well to do towns. Tons and tons and tons of imports and tuners tho.

    Knock on the door?

Crazy. I'm surprised how few people around here know they even exist, pay enough attention to notice it's a Jeep, or care at all. In the 3+ years I've had MJs, I've only ever had two people acknowledge my trucks and one was a young kid in a very built Wrangler and the other an older guy in a super nice XJ from Ohio with a "save the squares" decal on the back. Nice truck and a thumbs up respectively. The Jeep wave doesn't exist at all, even for built XJs that are obviously used offroad. I got flipped off once by a guy in an XJ.

    Knock on the door?

Wow, what an... People suck sometimes.

    Knock on the door?

Yeah I always thought I'd stop with my truck so I've got some credibility. Saturday looks like it'll be nice out, maybe I'll take a trip over there.

    Knock on the door?

Didn't think about snagging the VIN, only a few steps off the sidewalk I suppose.

    Convertible

Probably best to just cage it. Stiffen it up and not die.
  15. I've known where this truck lives for a couple years now. It's always in the same spot and never looks like it moves, however it always has yard waste in it and it's rarely the same waste as the time before. it appears to be well maintained however and I imagine it's only used for hauling stuff. This truck has bugged me forever because I want to know more about it... Errr maybe I just want the truck I haven't decided, it's very clean looking for an Iowa truck. Would it be weird to knock on the door? The mailbox is on the house itself so I can't just slip a card in it on my way by. These are Google Street view pictures, didn't take them myself.
  16. It's tight in there, I believe mine was touching the frame and driveshaft when coming out as well. As long as the hoses and wiring is disconnected just pry it out since you replacing anyway.
  17. After a few months wait, the Addco rear swaybar showed up. I was quoted a month originally due to it being made to order. That came and went and I talked to Addco a couple times and it sounds like they were waiting on some hardware to finish it. Take that for what it's worth but it came. The bar itself is pretty darn heavy and the brackets seem of decent quality. The links are the same quality you get in the autoparts store. The u bolts are meh. Most parking lots and highways have been salted so the truck is put away for the year. They didn't salt in town so I will try to get this installed and test drive it before they salt the rest of the roads.
  18. That's interesting, it may just be rusted to the bed itself. Kick it from one end and see if it moves.
  19. Filler neck hoses are usually what hangs up the tank. What you say you removed them, did you get them fed back through the frame rail? The only other thing I can think of that you didn't mention would be the small vent hoses that come from the top of the tank but they aren't strong enough to hold it up.
  20. Good stuff to think about here!
  21. The truck itself is real, pretty much all pictures of it are fake tho. It's comes in the flavors of the extended cab, 4dr, and I believe a 6dr.
  22. I agree everyone should know what it's like to do manual labor. I am definitely looking forward to not getting home at 3:30am and only surviving the drive because of the rumble strips on the sides of the road...
  23. We don't actually own the land, it's owned mostly be her Grandpa currently, we just have the freedom to do whatever out there, aside from building. It's also not a good location for a business unfortunately, except maybe a bar since the main bike path of central Iowa runs across the driveway. We have been talking about opening a boarding facility. Her and her close friend have both worked in boarding facilities and pet retail for a number of years and have the experience running them. It's the capital that's a problem and I'm not really comfortable taking a loan with no job security. I also planned on keeping my job for at least the first few years of having the boarding facility. If I land this job tho, I may get a little bit of a pay bump so that would definitely help this venture. I've looked for numerous ways of making money for myself with little initial investment and haven't really found anything that could produce a steady income. I've had a few ideas to make a little side money making stuff but I don't have the time or energy for it. Yeah my back is terrible, knees aren't great either, it's genetic, bad joints is a problem in my family. Plus heavy contact in football doesnt help, sprained my neck which is why I quit.
  24. All good info, thanks! The walks and stretches will do a lot for me I bet. I get antsy when I'm not doing anything so I'm worried about staying on task at the desk. In my current position Ive had to be talked to about not taking my breaks because I don't want to stop working to go sit on my arse somewhere. The weight gain I'm a little worried about, I was 380ish when I went to nights and quickly dropped to 310 and stagnated, I'm closer to 320 now. I'm not your typical 300+ guy tho, I was a football player so I'm built in that way it's just not muscle anymore, at least that I can use. I would probably benefit from working out again and the 8-5 schedule would allow me to do that, maybe over lunch.
  25. Anyone ever go from years of manual labor jobs to a desk job? The company I currently work for is outsourcing all production to China over the next year or so, so I am currently on the job hunt. I'm currently in talks about a BIM position (computer drafting) at an engineering firm which is a desk job. I'm a little worried tho as I've never worked a desk job, I've only ever been on my feet moving around. The closest I came was working at Geek Squad but that was still standing and moving the whole time. I've got back issues and sitting for prolonged periods can give me problems but they do have standing desks as well so I should be okay there. I know my body can't take daily manual labor for too much longer so I'm afraid I will have to make this transition eventually regardless. What's it like working a desk job and has anyone ever changed from manual labor to a desk job and what was the transition like? How do you stay focused when staring at a computer screen all day?
