  1. For the time and trouble involved I would just go ahead and fix the carb you got now. Follow the book and although it may not run perfectly it will be good enough to get you home.
  2. Apparently the guy wised up and pulled the ad. Briefly it was a rusted out 64 Impala no motor or trans and the top was crushed in . No glass. Worth about $50 tops. He was asking $800. Thot it wud be worth a chuckle.
  3. Send the wife on an errand for ya, down a road where it's guaranteed she'll get stuck. Then have an accomplice just happen to drive by with 4WD.
  4. I need a 1-2 shift rail from a AX5.
  5. I rebuild my own starters and alternators, generators. A dying art it seems. However when I go to a JY if I see a nice shiny new component with the sticker still on it I will get it.
  6. I didn't actually compare components.Just popped the hood and looked. On the surface they look identical. Also the manual does not list any differences between them. Check back tomorrow night and I'll have more definate info.
  7. 2.5 did have cruise. It was called cruise command and used GM components. Another reason to get the entire steering column.

    Wiring Help

The Haynes Repair Manual 50010 Jeep Cherokee 1984-2001 has some good schematics. Also both Autozone and Checker have good wiring diagrams on line that can be downloaded and printed.
  10. In my opinion the best thing to do on a deal like this is to disregard anything said about it's past history. Take it for what it is. A unit sitting on the floor , or ground, for sale. Remove the cover, inspect everything, and see if it's what you want or not.
  11. Got one and it's been shipped. Thanks everybody.Jim
  12. Depends on the alcohol content. 3.2 will form crystals at -45. At -60 it will freeze hard enough to pitch a can thru a truck windshield. Tuborg, 12.2 % alcohol needs -65 to form crystals. These figures from the unofficial Thule Greenland Beer analyzation society. Jim Oshel President and chief analyzer. With a whole bunch of help from the Royal Danish Navy.
  13. Looks like the cap that's missing from my gas can. Thanks Philistine. Jim
  14. If you know any Radio,TV repair shops been around awhile make friends with the owner. Then ask him to check his old Sam's Photo Facts. You'll find pics, schematic, tuning, repair info there. Might even find it on line. Forget finding it on line. I just tried. Only goes back to 2000.
  15. The prices are about half of what the P&P here charges. There are no core charges or charge for fork lift or entry fee. And we can return an item for a like item or credit but no refund. Engine $225 any kind. Transmission $100, radiator $30
  16. Signalb needs a ROT. I have several. like two different kinds. I believe one is original and one is something a PO mounted. Rather than ship the wrong item, does anyone have a pic of a 1986 overflow tank?
  17. Thanks guy. It was Sep 16 2000. We were married 44 years. She was 14 and I was 17 when we met. Anyway I got to go thru the stuff and get rid of most of it. Want to find them pics anyway.
  18. If you were to hook up electric trailer brakes backwards, Then step on the brakes, Would the trailer now push? Sounds like I been smokin the same stuff he has.
  19. $8,000 roll bar.
  20. On the contrary, is sufficient data. Actual measurements on a 2 DR XJ 47"X47" produced an aspect ratio of 1.1 Rounded off to nearest whole number. Measurement on 4Dr XJ was 47X38 for a aspect ratio of 1.2. On the photo the door measures 4"X4" for a aspect ratio of 1.1. therefore the door in the pic is of a 2dr XJ . Leading me to conclude the truck was driven by an extremely obese person and they had to stretch the cab so he (she) could get their fat *ss in it. It's an XJ cut down.
  21. Insufficient data for positive ID.
  22. Looks better from a distance. Willing to bet ya that if you keep it for a couple weeks it'l grow on ya. Never want to get rid of it. Anyway it's your truck. It's what you like that counts.
  23. Took GF out for breakfast. Figured a couple fried eggs was cheaper than a diamond or bunch of roses. The original Mr Romeo
  24. Gets giddy from breathing thin, but purefied air.
  25. It's a little 'bold'. If the edging were thinner, or maybe some thin vertical fillers.
