Over the past couple weeks I've been building bumpers and other stuff for other people and finally got to finish up my truss for the most part, still didn't weld it to the cast housing because I ran out of oxygen for my oxyacetylene torch lol eventually ill get to that but for now here's pics. Also got a free set of doors and painted them and swapped all my stuff over, finally got my ruffstuff hiem steering in too! Ill put that together tonight :) Also went camping at Montauk last weekend and saw the st pattys day parade... In the parade was the cleanest Comanche I've ever seen :D At Montauk

Kick a55 story haha glad the truck made it home in one piece!
-
Working on getting that 5.3 situated in its new home, I still need a 5 or 6 speed tranny and motor mounts before I can do any test fitting B) on another note I ordered the 3/4 Ruffstuff hiem steering kit today and washed all the salt off my truck as it was mostly grey and white instead of blue and black... Yuck Ill post pics when I finally get some real work done

The title says it all. This truck will be my lowered daily driver that will kill tires, I'm shooting for decent miles per gallon and even more smiles per gallon. I'm currently collecting parts for this build while I still "finish" my other truck. Here's the specs of it currently and what it will hopefully get! Currently: -87 MJ 250k+ on the 99% RUST FREE body and mildly dented bed -150k+ on the swapped oil covered sluggish 2.5 -Unknown mileage on the ax4 and dana35... It's 2WD and staying that way -Tan interior... Bleh I dislike tan interiors but ill deal until I get a grey or blue interior for cheap or free.. Currently have my other trucks blue bench and Cherokee_chiefs old blue door panels in the truck -Blown brake booster from getting cut off and screeching all fours so I didn't die.. I have a replacement 99+ booster -pretty sure the kid who had it before me swapped in a wrong era 6 cyl gauge cluster because it came with 3 clusters ???? So none of the gauges work and since the new motor and computer will take a electrical wizard to make work with the jeep cluster ill just make my own in the stock spot :) -Needs a straight tailgate because I can't stand looking at the banana shaped, dented one on there now. THE PLAN... Hopefully all of what it's getting! Some things may change but this is my dream list of stuff I'd like it to have -Got a free Chevy 5.3 LM7 from a running 01 Tahoe from intake to pan for free -All of my cars/ trucks have been Manual and I'm not switching to auto now so this will get either a T-5 (prone to blowing up with this kind of power) or a t-56 if I can find one worth giving a arm or leg for.. -Byebye D35... A welded 8.25 or LSD 8.8 will find its place under the truck eventually -Plate the unibody in the weak areas beforehand -ZJ v8 sway bar up front, possibly a Cherokee swaybar in the back? -since it will be getting a v8 I'd like to put v8 ZJ coils up front and cut them to my desired height... Most likely pretty low :D -traction bar to save the leafs That's all I can think of off the top of my head and all I could want out of a tolerable Daily driver that would be a lot of fun to drive. This is probably going to take quite a long time as I have a crapload of tickets to pay off and spend too much money on my other truck as it is. I'd like to dabble in auto-cross as a few of my friends do it and its a fun weekend activity! Here's the story of how I acquired this truck for those that don't know! I was wheeling at one of the only decent size places on this island mothers day night (may 12th 2013) and stumbled across a hillclimb I've never seen and none of my wheeling buddies have done it in the daytime/ let alone at night. So of course I was the test dummy and made it about 3/4 the way up and had to maneuver around a fallen tree and was only paying attention to my driver side and started flexing a little and felt unstable so I stopped and then started slipping to the passenger side and next thing I know I'm rolling down the right side of the hillclimb and landed on my tires with the truck still running... Crushed but running and missing a few things. I messed up my shoulder pretty bad and lost my job at a Welding and Fab shop because i was unable to do anything physically.. So after a few of my friends found out they all got together and put some money together to get me another vehicle... They knew how attached I was to my beloved truck so of course they set out to get another Comanche! Another friend of mine was willing to sell me a running blue 2dr Cherokee to me for scrap price if I just got it out of his yard but I had no way of getting there so I wanted to check it out and was waiting for my buddy to come pick me up but he said he was running late and then one by one all of my friends started showing up to "come hangout" until one of them showed up with a Comanche on a dolly... It wasn't in my street for 2 minutes before I broke out the tools so I could drive it around.. Opening a hood with one arm is really hard by the way, had my friends do that part for me haha Basically I have some great friends all willing to lend to a friend in need. Here's some pics because I know you guys are bored of reading. The day I got it From left to right: My 89, Cherokee-chiefs 89 and my little 87 Most recent pic I have of it Jeep tough with Chevy stuff :D Thanks for reading!

You sir are a perfectionist for sure, maybe ill lend you my truck for a week :D I've searched around for those European marker lights and can't seem to find where to buy them.. I've seen them on team Cherokee years ago but can't find them on there now, Got a link? Keep up the great work! -
Thanks guys! My parents always said to surround yourself with good people and you'll always have a good time, guess they were right! It's an 01 Lm7 so it's a cast block and aluminum heads, I plan on keeping the motor relatively stock besides a mild cam and all that goes with making it a happy setup :) that build will have to wait until this ones "finished" I'm tired of daily driving a half put together truck... I get more weird looks then usual haha

Been working a lot the past couple weeks and its been snowing a decent amount every couple days so haven't done much... A good friend and I picked up a clean running and driving 82 wagoneer for $450 bucks last week! We've have been tinkering on that when we can and I'm picking up a running 01 5.3 LM7 from intake to pan for free today!!!! That's going in my little manche B) ill post up more pics later!

I see 1-4 every week and know of about 20 all just on this island... I'm friends with 6 or 7 of the guys that own one or two and can never catch the other guys driving around.

I drove my truck everyday for 2 years on 33s without a regear and it wasn't terrible but there was definitely some power loss, as for the battery you can use one from a newer Cherokee that has more cold cranking amps and is the same size as stock
-
Congrats on the truck! Seems like you have a decent start, you'll love the Clayton longarms! I had mine for 2.5 years and all bushings/joints are still working good as new, keep at it! Edit: 31s on a 6.5 lift will look silly, 33s fit and look perfect just sayin B)

Damn! Let me know when youre in Ny, I'm always down for roadtrips! I'm hoping to make it up into Mass and NH for some spring/summer wheeling so ill keep yah posted

Damn if that was around here it'd be up for 2k! Hop on that ASAP!

Been following him on Instagram before he built the new camper setup and was waiting for this!
-
I'm going to Rausch march 15th! If your trip is around then let's meetup!
-
Never did find out if it had a plaque or not but I'm just going to assume it is a street comanche because it makes it that much more exciting to think that if I ever do come across it, ill chase after the guy driving to check it out haha
-
Washed all the salt off my truck and finally took some pics! Doesn't look half bad B) here's the artec truss and fel pro diff cover gasket And the fitment of the new rear window, I spent 5-6 hours tweaking the body as best as I could and its still pretty messed up but it's fully sealed and that's all I really want since the doors will be off from May-August when there's no rain in the forecast :)

Finally picked up my axle from getting re-geared to 4.10s and the wear pattern doesnt seem perfect from what I've read and seen pics of but theres a warrenty on it so hopefully its all good. Got my artec truss in the mail the other day and picked up a new diff cover gasket from work today. Hopefully getting steering and maybe a diff cover with my next paycheck B) ill try to get pics of everything tomorrow since I get out of work before the sun goes down for once!

Damn... Of course stuff like this happens RIGHT after I paid for a Re-gear with a stock 3.73up carrier, instead of an ARB (Facepalm)
