@rquartz, I don't usually goto the NYC/LI meets just because nobody knows anything about their own trucks, they all have John build/ fix their $#!& lol and Dan I'm so pumped! I started building my sleeping platform in my bed for the cross country trip, got some 1/2" CDX plywood and some 2x2 for some supports. I even got my ladyfriend helping me build it too B) Ill take pics when I'm done of how it came out, should be a pretty sweet lightweight setup!

My friend spotted it today at limerock racetrack and sent me a pic! I asked him to take more but he never got back to me.

Finally found a set of rust and dent free fenders! And they were my original paint color... Oh well. Waiting for paychecks to come in so I can get some other goodies such as a tranny mount, unlike mine with no rubber left and a ZJ fan clutch and finally put my frame stiffys on! Along with my fox shocks and rear shock hoops and axle mounts. So much crap to do and no time... Did I mention I need all this done before the end of the month... I'm most likely moving to Park city UTAH! Got a sweet job offer working for Sexton offroad B)

Steering Box Frame Plating
Dirteatr717 replied to Project Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I just ordered HD engineering XJ front frame stiffeners and already have the JCR steering box bracket and my bumper mount goes all the way back to the last bolt but my frame cracked underneath all the way across and is basically acting like a open cereal box, hopefully plating all 4 sides and slugging the steering box bolts fixes it for good! -
Your Largest Mj Fuel Tank Fill Up?
Dirteatr717 replied to johnj92131's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
18.4 gallons in a 18 gallon tank and got about 360 miles out of it! 20mpgs! -
Just ordered Hd Engineering XJ front frame stiffys, because my steering box is trying to rip itself through the frame... I already have the JCR steering box spacer and my bumper mounts go all the way back but the frame cracked underneath and is squishing the frame like a cereal box so ill have to strengthen that whole area .. Also got a set of mint front fenders and getting a spare fuel pump and sending unit from a member on here.. Sheesh

I've been thinking about building a mild stroker for some time now, occasionally browsing jeepstrokers.com and finding out all the little details needed to make it a happy well running motor. Since my original motor has 150k miles on it, has a badly cracked exhaust manifold, leaks a little oil and has a mild lifter tap until its warmed up and it feels slow and old, a fresh stroker motor only makes sense for a replacement :) so that brings me to the 96 XJ shortblock that fell into my lap... its bored .030 over and has dished pistons and a refreshed head and mild cam...Ill get all the fine details soon, Just need a 4.2 crank and rods :D I needa stop collecting parts...

2! my dad bought my 89 brand new and passed it on to me and I aquired my 87 last year! Almost had another but I'm extremely happy having 2 totally different trucks but both being Comanches :D

I've been looking at these for a couple months and I've read a few reviews on them but can't find any XJ/MJ owner reviews. I already have the autopal H4 housings and have had a few HID kits including the DDM tuning kit, short story is the ballast went on fire and I'm done with HIDs. I've been running some crappy bi xenon bulbs and they just aren't cutting it anymore and I'm wondering if anybody has these or something similar? http://olympusoffroad.3dcartstores.com/Zeus-LED-Headlight-Pair_p_161.html

Just ordered these new LED headlight bulbs and I'm hoping to have better luck with them then with HIDS like ive had in the past... http://olympusoffroad.3dcartstores.com/Zeus-LED-Headlights_c_75.html So I got bored and bought some paint last weekend. Turned out halfway decent looking. I used Krylon Satin black B)

Changed the fluid in my front diff after 600 miles and the gears look to be wearing fine, the oil wasn't too sparkly so that's good too. Got my alignment adjusted perfect and all my wheels balanced so it drives MINT. I had to put another thermostat in last weekend because it wasn't opening in the truck... Slapped another one in and it's good now... Hope to start a cage asap and get some lockers and she'll pretty much been done! Here's some pics since I've been slacking A couple weekends ago I went up to MaBell and spent the day there with some friends, it's an awesome trail to have access to :)

Thanks man! Cruising the beach and camping over the weekend is always a good time, regardless of weather. Lately I've just been driving my truck until I finished up my axle earlier this week and slapped it in today, I forgot to pick up the 92+ caliper bolts and can't find my new brake pads I bought a month ago  oh well I'll pick up that stuff tomorrow and finish up but I got everything that I could get bolted up and tight and finished my steering and my draglink hits the steering stabilizer mount so Ill chop that off and mount another one somewhere. I feel like I drank more beer then turned wrenches today but I got a lot more than I expected done in 6-7 hours. I even painted everything  I'll post pics tomorrow

I had to do this last week, take everything off the door panel and then pry the sides of the panel off and try sliding the panel up and towards the back window once all the plastic snap-ins are out. once you get in there locate the end of the rod from the outside handle to the assembly and see if you can jiggle it while opening the inside handle too. I can get pics if you need ;)

Team Cherokee Back Window?
Dirteatr717 replied to Dirteatr717's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Well directions say you can re-use your original seal and mine didn't fit so I had to just slap it in with a ton of silicone. Given my cab is bent in all ways possible it fits pretty good. I can post better pics upon request but I have a couple in my build thread
