  1. The thread is about Jeep building a production pickup truck. If we're willing to suspend belief long enough for that topic, the thought of selling them for $24,999 should be a walk in the park. You should be glad I didn't mention that I want my to run on Unicorn Tears & Puppy Farts. ;) :wavey: :D  :rotf:
  2. In the market for new tires and wheels. I'm most likely going to run BFG KM2's in the 33x10.5 flavor. I've got Cragar D windows now, but they have ridiculous amounts of back spacing to the point where my 11.5's nearly rub the rear frame rails. I'm looking into either cragar D windows again, or soft 8's. Either one will have 4 inch back spacing an be a 15x8, just looking for opinions from people on either one, which one you like better
  3. I still wish they would bring the J8 to the US, that 2.8 turbo diesel sounds pretty nice Image Not Found
  4. i did swap the sender, but i guess that could be a possibility
  5. its most likely got 3.55's in it, and :agree: my old XJ was like a rocket ship
  6. I had the same question when i got my first MJ about the radiator cap. The bottle in the top left that looks to be an overflow bottle is pressurized, and the cap acts the same as one would on a radiator. Renix era motors use a closed cooling system. For gauges, look for a cherokee from 87-90 with a 4.0 that has a full gauge cluster, they shouldn't be hard to find.
  7. ^ the unlimited TJ, the longer wrangler
  8. :agree: Might as well go for the HO motor since everything needs to be swapped no matter what.
  9. 1992 Comanche . Will be getting 1- ton OTK steering, and an 8.8 or 44 rear axle very soon. Current daily driver, and project. Notes : Owned the truck since the beginning of the year. Currently fixing the main problems, and upgrading parts along the way. I love my MJ  Owner : Chris D. aka 88pioneer
  10. Its more than just pull the old motor, and put the new one in. Don't know all the details, but i know a lot of people do. The 4.0 didn't come out until 87, so the engine bay is not set up to hold it.
  11. We must have some NIIIICE MJ's in Jersey. This one looks in pretty good shape, but not $6000 good. http://southjersey.craigslist.org/cto/1796331217.html
  12. i sent him an email asking if he meant $400 dollars, or if he was really asking $4000. No reply.... :rotf:
  13. ok, so sounds like something i shouldn't be too worried about, thanks for the answers
  14. Just had a quick question about my oil pressure. Ever since i put my full gauges in, I noticed my oil pressure would hover around 60 psi at idle or on the throttle. My question is, is this normal pressure for the 4.0's to run at? Also, it is a HO, not sure if the Renix motors run at a different psi

  16. Virtually nothing is bolt in when upgrading axles like the ones you want, and the fsj's were leaf sprung in the front, so there steering set up is different
  17. alright, appreciate all the help guys
  18. i kind of remember a list of years of explorers to look for for an 8.8 swap, but can't find it. Just wondering what years people usually go with. I am looking to get one with discs also. And my other question was if they were common with 3.55's?
  19. here's my truck with the bottom painted. I'll eventually do bed liner material, but for now its just flat black

    i'm famous!

not really :rotf: , just found a video on youtube from the jeep fundraiser i went to last month. Pretty good shot of the 92 running the track, right around the minute mark.
  21. Really in need of a set of tires. 32 or 33 would be good. All terrain or mud terrain, with or without wheels, pretty much anything you got. My tires are shot. Located in North Jersey, willing to travel
  22. ...Passing an XJ an watching the double take from the driver when they see theres no back hatch
