Agreed!! That why I'm taking her to a place that does this for a living. I want her up in the back an inch or two so with a "reasonable load" like a dirt bike & gear. she sits without sag. I trust their "Guess" much more than my "guess".... -

Things slowed down at work long enough to get her loaded up .... Shes off to get wheeled out, then to the spring shop & get that rake mellowed out a bit.... Babys out of the barn! -
No shots for me thanks.... unless a waitress brings them....

Found some time to work on her this weekend. Wet sanded the clear & hopefully next weekend I can buff it out. There are a few fisheyes I couldn't get out but once the shine is brought out I think they will be very hard to see.... -

Things have slowed down a little ... rebuilt the tailgate latch & repainted the interior plastic... The medium gray was a good match but the Granite was off quite a bit....I managed to destroy the drivers visor learning how to take it apart!!! LOL!!! -

Oh wow... Its been a while... Been working 12's + saturdays ... UGH! SO... I have sound deadening in, new fuel pump in a new tank ... bought a dial type trailer brake 4 it... Darn near cut my thumb off on that silly double sided carpet knife... ran into a snag with the wiper motor till I found a guy in SC that rebuilds them.... Found a thread on here for the SEM paint for vinyl interior panels so I'm waiting for them to arrive.... Its kinda cool that so many parts come in almost the same red =) -

I think I have a set of these ... -
I've kinda got the same thing going on.... ya do all the ciphering in the world.... I even took off my shoes cause some of those numbers got kinda big ....I started with 4.5" & a SOA with new "stock" springs..... jumped up to 6" lift in front to try & level it out. I think the spring manufacturer goobered sumthin up in my case. Think I'm gonna end up at a spring shop cause I'm still to high in the rear.

I'm looking for the plastic bezel that has it molded right in the part and painted.... like they did back in the day. I have a bunch of used ones, but they are warped and discolored. -

Well, finally getting back at it ... a couple guide coats on the bed sides.... I could have spent forever trying to straighten out this thing. WAY beyond my skill level! And the decals!!... HOLY CRAP, next time I'll pay somebody to stick them LOL!!! Money well spent! But hey, its all red now Next step is to pull all the trim, bumpers, flares & paint satin black. -

Got some more pics ... boy, my rustproofing sure is thin compared to the factory tar on the inner fenderwell! Gotta say, NOW I see why guys love spray in bedliner .... this is a TON of work! -
a buddy of mine had a '65 with a 350 we used to drag race back in the 80's .... as you know it was an early unibody car... if we didnt keep the rear windows down a little bit, they would break at launch when the body twisted...... we had just enough power (and money) for that one wheeled wheely!!

Very close.....Cammed up (Duntov 30/30 solid cam) Chevy 302 with small chamber big valve heads, a Big Holley, Hi pref clutch Muncie 4spd in a 1965 Chevy II with dual exhaust and traction bars and wide tires... Miss all the cool nic-names for crap & the language that used to be used,

Last night I was laying on the couch planning my next steps on the Comanche when it occurred to me.... If I have a double pumper with dual feed on a square bore over a solid 30/30 in a 302 with camel backs and a 3 finger in front of a Rock Crusher in a '65 Deuce with duelys, slappers and a posi on wide 60's...... What do I have?? Kinda miss the old days......

Made a little more progress on her this last week. Got my wife's Jeep out of the way..... on a side note, any of you have a 2006ish Grand Cherokee & are thinking about the 2" lift kit .... PM me & I will tell you why you shouldn't do it!! Back to the Comanche.... Got the Bed & tailgate back from the sandblaster... The bed looks good no issues hiding under the paint. The tailgate looks VERY good for a Michigan tailgate. The pinch weld only needs a couple hours work.... so I'm pretty happy with it. I seam sealed then sprayed sealer on all exposed surfaces... on the bottom I went right to the Imron. The visible surfaces I will prime & smooth or do bodywork as needed..... I gotta say... I thought the bed would be easier than the cab.... but given I have to hang it in 3 different positions to get the paint coverage I need I was clearly wrong! Also.... This box sucked up more paint material than the cab, doors, fenders & hood so far! An entire gallon of sealer, 2 qts of primer & a whole quart of Imron so far!! I'll get paint & rustproofing on the bed floors and walls as well as the bottom b4 I start the base clear on the bed sides.
