Lenard- My Grandpa found it sitting in a driveway on Hwy 63 south of Rolla, near Edgar Springs. I finally located the owner and worked out a deal. Saturday, I'm going to look at one a guy is parting out. I'm buying the wheels and tires on it and hopefully the motor!

I finally found one to tow home. A 1976 J-10...minus the 360 4bl it came with.

The 95 AX-15 should be external (I think) which is a lot better. Get the throwout bearing and slave....your gonna love the AX-15 compared to the pukegoat

My truck is an 89 and I just finished swapping a 2wd pukegoat tranny with a 4wd AX-15. Easy swap, no need to change clutch. The AX-15 I put in was out of a 90 cherokee so pilot bearing was the same diameter. I went ahead and put a new slave cylinder in, but the old will work fine. If your donor tranny is 91 and up you'll have to change pilot bearings, I'm assuming that yours is external slave since you refer to the throwout bearing and slave. As far as transfer case, check spline count to see if they match. Good Luck!!

Wow...you have a wide variety of taste in music. Right now I just have radio in my truck, the cd player doesn't work and I've been attending to other things before I worry about tunes.

Took a few pics of the truck after the 4wd swap....still need to do the CAD fix and adjust the T/C linkage... I spent a lot of time rolling through the water on my creeper...but it was time well spent :clapping: I think the guy that cut my driveshaft down, shortened it about an inch too much???

Got the AX-15 and transfer case put in, tranny mount bolted on and started to put the rear driveshaft in. Found out that I need to swap the yoke from the donor rig's driveshaft to my driveshaft. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to finally get this conversion finished up!! :cheers:

I'm looking all over for a J-20....when I find one I should be able to pull a house if I want to!!

Went outside and...............froze my booty off!!!!!!! But I got the Pukegoat out!! It was puking chocolate milk out the back end, guess it's a good thing it came out or it may not have lasted much longer???

I'd like to get ahold of a push bar like the one on the front of that!! :clapping:

I like it, not because it looks good, but because it is different. I think it would look a lot better painted black. When a Jeeper meets you driving down the road, he's going to be wondering, "Hmmm...I wonder what that grill came off of????" :clapping:

Well, finally got my D30 front axle good to go. Ended up changing out the driver's side wheel bearing hub and upper ball joint. Changed out the passenger side axel u-joint and wheel bearing hub. Also put in a new track bar. Smooth as silk!! Now I can finally move on to pulling the PukeGoat and putting in the AX-15 and NP231. :cheers:

In missouri you can drive your vehicle to the inspection place and to the license office without being ticketed. Here, at least it wouldn't effect your insurance. Good Luck!!

Try putting the wheels on and lowering the truck...it will line it right up. I had the same prob and the guys on here said to try the wheels on trick-and it worked like a charm. :cheers:

If you are talking about the exhaust donut, the bolts should be tight, otherwise you will end up with a rattle and an exhaust leak.

Pulled the tranny and put the dana 30 under the front yesterday. Got all the the bolts except for one UCA...it was getting too dark so will finish up the axle today. :D

Here's a few shots of my donor rig. It's a 1990 XJ with a AX-15 and NP231...Dana 30 up front. Pulled front axle and transfer case today....tranny tomorrow!! :cheers:

Check your intake air temp sensor. Nice Comanche and post some pics of that J-truck!!! I want one of those bad :cheers:
