  7. I would agree with a new whatever about projects under construction. And a Comanche rescue. When I hear of "12 mj's headed for the crusher", I am sure there is someone "out there" that would like to save them from that fate. I would if I could. I believe there is a finite supply of Comanches. We can try to save them all. Just a thought. Save the Comanche! http://www.comanchenation.com/

    Rare MJ's??

1988 Comanche, 4.0, 231. Column shift, bench seat, navy interior. We sold it new, has 285,000+, repaint with the pioneer stripes. I think it is baltic blue. The new owner is thinking three inch lift and 31's. Very nice Comanche.
  9. Is there any fluid in the master cylinder? If it is empty, fill it back up and look for a leak, start in the back by the rear axle and check the lines. Good luck.
  10. I am thinking of the same kit. I am thinking of these. http://www.intercotire.com/site28.php in the 33x10.50 or the 35x10.50. It says a 7-9 inch wide wheel. I have factory wheels I would like to keep on there. Anyone have experience with these tires? Are they good for the rocks? Should I think about these? http://www.intercotire.com/site32.php 34x9.50 on a 7-9 inch wheel. Thanks, always a lot of info here. Comanches rule!
  11. Be sure to look where the black plastic line runs under the battery tray. if it is broken just splice it with vacuum hose.
  12. My guess is you broke the bolts on the right side motor mount bracket to the block.

New find. 1988 Comanche LWB, 4.0, BA10, 231, CAD Dana 30, Dana 35, 3.07. What would be first? Here is my plan. Trying to keep it low buck. Somewhat. 1. Lift it. http://www.rubiconexpress.com/dynamic/m ... lderid=346 2. Gears, 4.88's http://www.4x4wire.com/jeep/reviews/super35d/ 3. Tires http://www.intercotire.com/site28.php Is this a good start? Just looking for some suggestions. Thanks.
  14. no pics. 1988 Comanche 2.5, 2WD, 5?spd, long bed. also have 1990 Cherokee 4.0, AW4, 231, 3.55, etc. Some plans are engine and trans swap. and transfer case, and front axle, and regear to 4.88's, for now. Sounds like a lot of work. Is that a start?
  15. I have no pictures of my Comanche, but here is the story of how I got it. I was at work and a customer called and asked if he could take a rear axle from a Comanche and put it in his Cherokee. I told him it was not a bolt in. He told me he needed a rear axle for his Cherokee, 89 auto. I had recently swapped in a set of 4.10 axles in my Cherokee and had the 3.55's in the driveway. I was going to put them behind the garage as spare parts. I was able to swap the rear axle for the Comanche. He had the transmission out of it and when I dropped off the axle, I got the title and the keys. I sent a wrecker the next day and after a lot of work, put it on the road. It is my daily driver. 4.0, BA-10, 231, SWB. I put on a set of 30X9.50R15's. It has about 100K, but the speedometer was not working when I got it. Replaced the cable, swapped in a Limited dash with guages and a tach. It shows about 165K on the clock. I tuned it up last week and the date code on the wires was 2/87. My gas mileage was getting bad so I decided to change the spark plugs, and everything else. I got my second Comanche for free. Comanches rule!
