Well after I posted that comment last night, I started looking at homebrewed conversions, and yeah I'm just going to make my own one. Hopefully everything will come out good, thanks again! And wish me luck!

Installing A 1996 Throttle Body Mounted MAP Sensor
JoeLAW replied to HOrnbrod's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
Hah  this is very funny to me since I thought I would have a lot more trouble adapting the MAP than the TPS turns out its the other way around.. Thanks again hornbrod! :wavey: Always helpful -

Comanche Rear Sway Bar, Long Box
JoeLAW replied to HOrnbrod's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
Hmm my MJ already had a sway bar on the Rear, it doesn't look original though, but it seems to work fine.. I may remove it to improve off-road articulation, but who knows I'll worry about that later, but can anyone explain to me what are those Rods conecting from the "frame" to the axle??? -
Hornbrod, any luck with the transfering of the MAP? Actually it was in 1996, the first year of OBD2. In 1997 the MAP sensor changed (different connector but functionally the same). I'm in the process of hooking up a 96 throttle body mounted MAP on my 91 to get rid of the long vacuum line from the firewall mounted MAP to the intake manifold. Will post up later if all works as I expect it to. Hornbrod, any luck with the transfering of the MAP?

Hi "cruiser54" Thanks for explaining what the 6 wires do on the TPS for Renix's with an auto tranny, But I still have a question, and I really hope you can help me and appreciate it in adnvance. My question is I've been working on my MJ and the PO changed the engine from the Renix to a '06 HO out of a TJ.. Anyways instead of leaving the original '06 Intake manifold and TB etc. he installed the older Renix Intake manifold, long story short, now that I've been working on the truck I changed the intake back to a HO one of a '96 XJ, and installed a new 62mm Jeepers and Creepers TB, and of course the sensors are not the same, so I was thinking of just spliting and conecting cables, but since I won't have those 3 cables for the tranny on the new HO TPS will my MJ just not shift at all? Also do any of you guys know if I even need a newer style HO MAP sensor, or am I good with the old one? As I said before any help is greatly appreciated, and sorry if I'm not clear on my thoughts please let me know so I can try to explain 'em better

Bitchin! I like it a lot I think I friend requested you on FB not too long ago hope we can get together as soon as I get Jessica running again man!
-
http://www.jeepersandcreepers.com/ check em out very good pricing compared to the other brands, and very good quality

Well anyways it's getting late and I'm falling asleep but here are some good news! I got an XJ donor! :clapping: We call her "La Borrada" which means erased since the PO painted her with a brush lol Anyways yes it has Chihuahua Plates from Mexico, but hey WGAF it has a perfectly untouched virgin D30 which I plan on swaping on to Jessica, same gearing too! And it also has the no dummie cluster :rock on: Oh and I almost forgot this was supposed to be on the previous post  but anyways I went with a buddy of mine and he made me these badass heavy duty battery cables! I just bought the terminals, and he had the cable. I have small hands, but you can see how thick it is in contrast with my thumb. My old ones were trashed, and by trashed I mean TRASHED the negative one was 75% bare where there was no plastic over it at all BARE COPPER!!!! Lol I forgot to take pictures of em, but I'll snap a few if I ever see em again :laughin:

Well and following on Comanche County's comment, my plans for the next week is get all the missing parts that I need, and start her check that everything is running well, and use her for a week, . :MJ 1: . with the low-rider tires. If everything is runing well ( :crossfingers:) I'm gona take it to a couple of buddies in Juarez Mexico whom I trust their work and get all my electrical problems fixed, and get some A/C on it for this summer, so hopefully another 3 weeks and it should be all good to go!
-
Yeah one does not appreciate what he has until he sees someone else's problems. Good luck with your cables! I definitively do not enjoy all that but I'll try to clean as much as I can without messing her up.

Because remember I told you guys I ordered a trans cooler, well I forgot to snap a few pics of it since this past week was my finals week, but it's pretty big, and I'm thinking of using both the original, and the aftermarket one and that should be enough. Which is why I didn't ordered the one with the trans cooler, to keep it simple, and have more cooling power for the engine. I'll try to snap a few pics and post em either today or tomorrow.
