More conversions from the VHS files. Rob

Sorry about the quality of this one guys... I found a bad spot on the Laserdisc, but luckily by 1989, they were sending out duplicate VHS tapes. Rob

It was brought in around '96 (?) when Chrysler was trying to refine the 4.0. It was part of an NVH program (Noise, Vibration, Harshness). Rob

Diesel Fuel Only - Factory Diesel Comanche

AX5 with a special input shaft for the diesel. It's adequate, but the bellhousing is not. It's a common problem for the starter to crack the bellhousing because of the torque. Fortunately for me, someone had already rewelded it. Rob -

I was contemplating what to do with them. I was going to post them individually with each upload, accompanied by the "Laserdisc" tag. I imagine if you want to see them again, just click the "Laserdisc" tag, and they will all come up in one result. They won't be going anywhere either, they are all hosted on my Youtube account and public. Can't find them here, just search over on the 'tube. Rob  -

Working on two more now. The rain is killing any progress on The Farmer because I have it outside, so this passes the time. Music video inbound. Rob -
Diesel Fuel Only - Factory Diesel Comanche

Thanks. It was touch and go with getting things straightened out, but it helps having opsled nearby, having had one for years. I haven't done any huge trips, but couple hours here and there. It runs good, but with the 4.10s and stock tires, its really wound up. At 55, it's running about 3000 rpm. I have some vibrations to chase down, but a fun ride none the less. In a good mix of city/highway, I average a solid 30 MPG. Last tank was 30.5. It has the power of a 2.5, with a little extra grunt. Rob -

$2000 was the opening bid. If the reserve is what it was last time... We have some mega moving to do. I've talked to the seller over the phone quite a bit the last time he had it up. Rob

The Diesel will most likely just get covered and sit out in the driveway. Unfortunately, the garage is a one pony stall with all the junk in it. If I tried squeezing them both, I wouldn't have any room to work. Speaking of work: Tonight I had a buddy come over and help me get the bed off and up. I broke off a couple bolts when I took it off, so I needed to get them with the torch and persuade the rest out. Next with the bed off, I needed to get out the bolts that broke off while taking the bumper brackets off. Seems to be a trend here... I broke off three of them, but ended up only getting two out. The third didn't like the torch, and the nut came off the frame. Son of a. Well, it's out. Just going to have to weld in a nut. Somehow. Just happened to be the one farthest into the framerail. My buddy was at work getting the shocks off and helping out. Closer and closer... Hope to have it out there end of this week or the beginning of the next. Rob

Girlfriend is going have to convince you to set up another auction soon. Cleared up all that room just to fill it with more MJ's! Rob

Pulling the dash in an XJ/MJ has to be one of the easiest things to do on the truck. There is nothing hard about it besides knowing where it's attached. Once the steering column, knee board, cluster, radio, and HVAC... Etc... Is out, it's literally about 6-8 bolts. With experience, you could probably have a dash on the ground next to the truck in 15-20 minutes. Seriously. And you have a seat the whole time your working on it! Keep in mind what would be in the way, and dive in. Practice at the yard on another Jeep to see how it comes apart, then go for it. Rob

Time to reopen this chapter. I finally have everything where I need it, The Diesel will be parked for the winter shortly, and I can spare some funds... I've been cleaning/organizing the garage and the little workspace I have to kick things off. First I am going to finish pulling the brake lines, the gearbox, and any clips. After that I am going to get the broken bolts out of the frame and bed, then tow the whole works over to the metal prep guys. There I will have them do the underside of the bed, the frame rails, the underside of the cab, the floor of the inside, and the engine compartment. Once that is done, I have a gallon of POR15 waiting in the basement. Stay tuned. Rob

Good grab Jim. I hate low mile jy Jeeps. The first thing I look at when passing an XJ or MJ in the yard is the odometer. I find myself crying out 'There was still time!' If I generally see anything below 200k. I love seeing high mile odometers. Makes me glad they at least had a good run. Rob

Have an appointment for the cable company to come give it a once over tomorrow night. That, and finally bury that Damn line I have been mowing around for a year. Rob -
Write it off. I don't think $70 is enough to write off an old friend so much as it is a reason to never do it again... No matter what he needs it for. Let him know face to face you think it was a poor move, and move on. If he values the relationship, he will make it up to you somehow. I did the same run around chasing around a guy who shorter me on some MJ parts... Stood me up three times, I kept taking the 'meet me here and I'll give you the money' bait. Seemed like a nice enough kid, and normally I am a pretty good judge of character. That one slipped by the goalie though... Ruined it for the next guy who wants to do faith trading with me. Rob
