I found one for $550, 2.5 4 speed. Not sure on the rust, calling them tomorrow. I was wondering if it were worth it to by and convert to 4x4.

that's the leader off my off road club, I think that might of been badlands, I'll have to ask him

I'll supply the food if you come out and help tear apart an XJ. That'd be a good day for that. Sweet, sounds like a good time.
-
yea, I'm interested, I'll talk to you more about it in ten days, I'm going out of state to visit my grandparents.
-
thinking of selling those rear springs? haha
-
I'm getting back from vacation on the 14, so I can't go. And my XJ needs some work before I can wheel her.
-
would movement of .030+/-.010 from the pitman arm to the drag link cause it? I only noticed it when I had my girlfriend rock the steering wheel.

I went under the truck today, and nothing felt loose. So I took it around the block, and when turning I felt and HEARD a thunk on the passenger side. I checked all the lugs, and they are all tight, and the tires were just balanced the other day.
-
so this is just going to be a parts truck?
-
I just replaced the tires, all balanced right and everything. It started about a week before my tire change.
-
I'll check that in the morning, thanks.
-
I'm getting a bit of a shake when turning, I'm afraid to take it down the road till I get it fixed. It only happens when turning(even at <25,) and sometimes a little after a high speed bump. Does anyone have an idea? I think its the ball joints, or could my diff of taken a crap? :???:

need help!!! vacuum canister?
jack13smack replied to jack13smack's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ok, thanks. Just means before I build my front bumper I have to relocate it, along with a few other things. :brows: -
I found what looks like a vacuum canister inside the front bumper on the passenger side. What is it? And can I eliminate it? It's in a 92 4.0 HO
-
yea, I'm thinking of using an old skippy jar, it doesn't lose too much oil through it, just enough to kill my air filter in a couple weeks :fs1:

My name's John, I'm a relapsed jeepaholic. Lost my 88 pioneer 2wd Comanche a year and a half ago. Picked up a 92 4x4 Cherokee Laredo for $500, this thing is GREAT!!!!!!!!!! Never want to go any newer, haha.

I'm partial to the SWB, that LWB just looks awkward.

I use Lucas Oil Trans Stop Slip. I will only ever use Lukas Oil products when looking for an additive.

Engine oil additives...
jack13smack replied to CWLONGSHOT's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm not to thrilled with any oil additives out there. The lack of control over their contents and inability to prove the claims with solid evidence keeps me from being able to get behind them. Seafoam is a good product, but it is meant as a cleaning agent for occasional use. It contains ALOT of high level distillates. Kerosene would be able to achieve much of the same effect. And PLEASE don't get me started on Slick Advertising 50. The maker of their main effective ingredient (DuPont Chemical) has said repeatedly that Teflon was never intended for the environment inside and engine. They are basically the Sham Wow of additives... A whole lot of media hype.. not alot of effect. 'Hey, its made by DuPont.. DuPont makes good stuff, so you know its gotta be good' EDIT===> Exactly what I am talking about.... http://www.carbibles.com/additives.html Take a read down the page.. and you will see Zmax exposed as.... mineral oil with some food colouring in it. So yes it will do some of the things they claim. It will help reduce engine deposits.. just like any high distillate will do... say like seafoam, Marvel's Mystery Oil or good old fashioned Kerosene.... Marketing is what marketing is... a slick way to get you to buy their products... or you could just put 2oz. of gas in your oil, and do an oil change in 500 miles. I did that once, and it made it run smooth.
