  1. mainemj don't feel bad, I cut the top sheet metal out of a Caravan for my floor pans, works pretty good. I still have some extra for other projects. :brows:
  2. I'll give it a shot over the weekend an see how it works.
  3. Its funny you say that I had my dash cluster out a couple of weeks ago to hook up my Manual gauges I'll have to check that to. Thanks
  4. Let me know if lubing up your speedo cable works mines bouncing around alot to. I think my Gas gauge is not working either, all my dash lights work though. Mine is also a 86 8)
  5. We have an exhauset bender at work, so we play with all kinds of mufflers an tail pipe configurations on our down time. Boss thinks it helps us learn. :brows:
  6. Do they have a website? Trying to see what they got, never heard of them before.
  7. I know how to set up Diffs. Thats what I do for a living, trans, transfer cases an Diffs. I figure I could use it for a while an then sell it on ebay an recover some of my money. Thanks for the help guys I'll probably pull the cover to be 100% sure.
  8. I have my 86 Comanche 4x4 Dana 35 Rear. My Question is, Is it a non C-CLIP rear end? I have the op to buy a ARB air locker for $150 plus a$100 for the Compressor so $250 for the pair but its for a Non C-CLIP rearend. I don't want to spend that kind of coin on something thats not going to work on my truck. Is there any way to tell with out pulling the cover off the diff? :D

    STOLEN!

Thats SUCKS a Big one!!!!!!! Sorry an I hope you get it back in one piece!!!
  10. I think I would go with the AAL also. A 9" shackle is a long Chunk of steel.
  11. Has anyone used the NEW Posi lock, it has no cable just lockes the collar on the axle shafts permanatly it sell for around $100 instead of the cable operated one for $190.
  12. Feel free I've been all over this thing! :D
  13. I also have a 86. Mine is 2.5 AMC,904/207AMC,dana30 front,Dana 35 rear they are 3.54 gears. Your truck is pretty much Identical to mine except mine is Blue an no fancy stuff.
  14. PB Blaster is a life saver sometimes :D I should have my spacer's by the end of the week, if i get them in i'll post some before an after photos.
  15. GIRsMJ86 Thanks, all the work I've done to my MJ has been fun so far. I've had a few head scratches but got them figured out. CWLONGSHOT thanks for the shackle info, I might just get the long AAL for the rear an keep my shackles. I plan on doing the coil Spring spacer's at my work, we have 6 Car lifts there an every tool you can think of. As long as the bolts aren't froze in the CA's I think I can get.
  16. When I get to the diff swap I'll hit you up. Thanks for the info guys :-D
  17. Wait a minute. Is it pretty much bolt in or Do I have to cut the perches off an weld on new one's? :?
  18. Looks like I'll be swapin in that 8.8 cause I'm going to wheel the Crap out of it. Late model explorer with rear disc work?
  19. I've heard alot about the Dana 35 being weak,Why is it so weak? Is there anything that can be done to make it hold up without dumping a Buttload of cash in it? Or is it like you say just swap in a 8.8 an be done with it.
  20. I can't afford to drop that much money on a Lift kit right now. I won't be buying the tires until the end of this month. I figure if I can get this spacer lift an tires. I can start saving for the Rusty's 4.5" lift. That should give me atleast a 6.5" when I'm done. I plan on doing the gears an Lockers somewhere between the two lifts. I may end up getting the adjustable track bar just for saftey sake though.
  21. I wanted the spacers cause I'm mostly gonna use this as a Trail Truck. I wanted to have as much clearance between the tires an fenders as possible. These spacer lifts a PITA to install? Do you think a 1.5" shackle lift will be enough or should I get a 2"? I need to get a front end alignment done anyway, broke my trackbar Bracket. Planned on Running 31 Swamper LTB.
  22. I recently ordered a spacer lift for my 86 Comanche LWB 4x4. I only got the coil spacer, nothing else. My question by only putting the spacer lift in the front is it gonna look dumb? Or will it just level out the truck? I can get the lift shackles for the rear. I'm just trying to clear 31's. I don't care if I have to trim the fenders, rather not but whatever works. I know I'll have to spacer the lock stop with a washer so I don't hit the LCA. I found a good deal on the 2-1/4 spacer got it for $42 shipped to my door.
  23. Figured it out. The vacuum line that goes to the MAP sensor ( the steel line from the TBI to the map) Had crud in it an was plugged I took a coat hanger an some carb cleaner an ran the coat hanger threw it after spraying carb cleaner in it an cleaned it all out. I now have vaccuum to my MAP sensor. My idle is smooth an I have my power back. Thanks for the help guys.
  24. Very cool. I was curious how they worked out. Thinkin about doin that lift to mine when i get the funds. Your looks good. :D
