check to see if fuel pump is working and more then likely it is a cps just had mine replaced on wensday

come to virginia were getting plenty 6 inches now 12 to 15 in the morning . i just picked up my son from work havent driven in the snow for 2 years the mj went through it like a trooper :chillin:

:cheers: i got it going today it was a cps i had a friend fix it for me . i had a operation 5 weeks ago on my stomach and realy can't work on it towed it to where he works .replaced the cps did a state insp on it and had the oil changed , total was $116.00 dollars i can't complain about that :thumbsup: thanks for the reply

i just tagged and was going to get insp today . get in no start cranks over fine jumped wire at ballast resitor for fuel pump and can here running .i noticed it was taking 3to4seconds to start and it did cut out once last night while idling.I'm thinking cps by the way it is a 88 4.0 aw4 does this sound right thanks

just something i never learned i quit in 8th grade :ack: and went to work anyways mine has a open rad in it now i just got it running yesterday and drove it for the first time in 6 months :banana: :banana:

pete i just put a open radiator in mine my son was supposed to grt me a closed one from pick a part but came back with a new one that was never hooked up in the engine bay but anyways does it lose much coolant like this i am going to leave it like this for a while till i get the rest of the parts

ok i will pull the steering box is it also worth pulling the booster and master cylinder to i will use this in the future.i almost haved it ready to drive i am changing the cooling system to a open one :cheers:

no skids or hooks it came in with 4 donuts for tires hopefully i will be able to get the motor out of it when he gets tired of looking at it lol he bought it wrecked to put the t/c case in one and to put the motor in another .motor was for a 94 gc which i got to run after 2 years by grouding out the alarm system didnt use the t/c either ne needed a 231 and this was a 242

i have a chance to pull parts a 96 gc i pulled the seats to replace the buckets on my 88 manche what other parts could i use it has a 4.0 with 59.000 on it i could get the eng for $400 if i wanted any other drive train parts work thanks

try mans best friend works very well my small lab/sheppard mix had never bit nobody for the 7 years we had her well one day one of my sons friends tried to come through the sliding door to his room when nobody was home the dog new him and tore him a new @$$ plus its like 24 hr protection

they are called floor jets they were put there for emissions i believe i can't rememer the exact function they were for but i wouldnt worry about them

i got mine titled today i alredy fixed the front of the frame and primed it now all i have to do is get a radiator and wind shield and i can start driving it

the float in the carb should have stopped the flow of fuel into the engine i have seen mecanical fuel pumps leak past the diaphram and let fuel in the engine something you might want to check

broken screwdrivers i can toss very easy I'm going thru 2 sets of tools now i started on cars at14 around 23 i started working on garbage trucks and i always had a bunch of tools at home and work I'm on disability now havent realy worked on anything hard in 4 years now i have sold or gave away all of my big tools to coworkers i will never use them agian i have a big bottom box thats full and still not for every thing i can't bring myself to get rid of them heck i just gave up my cdl when i renewed my drivers license the other day ive had since i was 16 now 45 hope fully my kids/grandkids will appreciate them

the mj brakelights run through the turn signal switch as to where the xj dosent you will have to find the wire and tap it into the switch if you get a mj wiring diagram it will probaly show it both switches should be the same

start checking grounds it acts like its trying to seek ground and oveloading the wire

hopefully i can start getting parts for it next month i pulled the front off today the frame horn was pushed in about 4 inches i can pull it back out bad thing is ruined to what looks like a new rad pushed it up about 1or2 inches also while looking around this thing still has the orignal plug wires on it with amc stamped on them i figured it say mopar on them
