  1. Thanks all the screws were taken out. Just seems to be cliped in the one spot. Sounds like i just have to slowly work it out
  2. Hello all, I'm in the process of trying to get my dash out of my comanche and it seems like there is one last little spot holding me up that i can't figure out. The defroster trim piece cowl piece near the windshield seems to be hung up right where the defroster vent hooks to it. I'm assuming its snapped in but i have tried tugging on the cowling piece and it won't pop lose. I'm just wondering if there are any special tricks or a way it unclips that I havent seen. Trying not to break it and this is the last piece I need off to get to the bolts behind it and then the whole dash should come out. Any help will be great. Thanks
  3. Just got this a couple month agos on ebay it is def one great brochore found out the true color name of my truck and other information.
  4. Yeah thats the piece that is giving me trouble i still have some brake to the rear but when bleeding the rear the pedal never really builds pressure when pressed or it is inconsistent in building pressure. When i plugged the rears and just bleed the fronts it worked great. I know this piece pictured above distributes which way the brake fluid goes being front or rear. Gonna see if this fixes the problem if not gonna check out the wheel cylinder in the rear even though i doubt i is because no fluid is leaking back there like it would if a cylinder was bad.
  5. Yes thats the piece I'm talking about underneath the master cylinder their is a little valve or pin whatever you would call it that is hanging up on me trying to find a way to get it to move guessing it is something different on the mj so guess he cj would be different. Thanks
  6. So been going through my brake system the pass couple weeks and put all new lines a new master cylinder and booster. Went to check on the propotional valve and seems the pin inside is hanging up not letting me get rear brake. Was just wondering if anybody knew how to fix this or any where i can get a system that would work since everytime i search i never can find one. Maybe another one from a different vehicle will work. thanks
  7. Sucks that craftsman is going to being made in china crap but at this point not many things are made in the US anymore. All i have to say is i hope our next president makes it cheaper for busniess to be here it is amazing how much they are taxed and why they go over seas. But anyway i useally always look for any old craftsman, snap on or mac tools when i go to yardsales and flea markets. The best place is to try swap meets they always have a ton of good tools you can buy for cheap
  8. Yeah just noticed that last night so actually not as easy to find in a junkyard considering the ones by me are lucky to get a comanche in there yard once a year and at that a long bed also which is what my truck is so not that easy done as it was said. Maybe see what else pops up
  9. Well to me it resembles a skid plate thats why i called it that. Yeah there probally is just hard finding a comanche and got to find the cherokee that has the long gas tank to get it off of and hope a gas tank strap dosent come lose from it like I'm having trouble with the one i have now
  10. Its the black plastic skid plate
  11. Recently found a leak in my gas tank so I am in the process of fixing it. Took the skid plate off the bottom of the truck and one of the straps is stuck on to the longer part of the skid plate. Keep trying to drill the bolts out to get the strap off so I can reuse the skid plate. Not having much luck so I'm seeing if I can find another one somewhere to buy. Can be original or a replacement would like it to look like the old one if possible since I'm in the process of restoring the truck back to factory new condition. Or if anybody knows good tips to get the strap off it would be much appreciated. Thank you
  12. So i have a after market pioneer radio in my truck and a couple months back it sounded like a cd was skipping in it then it all the sudden went to where it shuts itself on and off. Kept trying to play with it but nothing worked. So i figured it was the radio so i went out and bought a new pioneer cheap. Went and wires it all up and when i plugged it in it did the same thing that the old pioneer did. I checked the fuse and it looks good even put a new one in and still had the same problem. All the wires look fine and nothing looks fryed. Even checked the current in the wires and it was saying the 12 volts so its getting power. My dad is saying he thinks its the attenna but the radio does the same thing when its on cd mood so idk how the attenna can affect that. The only thing that works on the radio is the AUX mood. Also i noticed once i took the key out the inginiton had some play in it and was still halfway on cause i could hear the fan going and putting out air with the key out of it so idk if maybe that has something to do with it. Anybody have any ideas. Everthing else works fine on it the lights and all that are fine. Any help would be great
  13. great looking comanche i was also lucky with mine since my dad was the first owner lol
  14. Agreed had the chance to takes parts off a mj in a junkyard and didnt thinking i would need stuff went there a week later to get something and it was gone. Make sure u replace the valve cover gasket once u get the truck they go bad and make sure ur friends arent trying to jump in thebed while u are driving away. Happened to me tailgate drop since one of them grab the handle and now the tailgate is all messed up
  15. i would def get it dosent look that bad for how old and looks like a great project and u can get more then what u paid if u decided u don't want it and junk it. But i love those trucks wish i could find one
  16. wells its too dark to do it now ill try to take pics of the axles tommorrow have to see with work and school but it looks like the difference between the 35 and 44 is the notch in the diff cover so i can see if my rear has that but ill also try to post pics
  17. thanks i kinda figured there danas and that sounds about right guess ill find out then i change the fluid
  18. Hey i was thinking about replace in diff fluid in my front and rear dif i was just wondering what axles came in them so i can get the right gaskets and maybe for curiousity what gearing is in it. Its a 87 4.0 4x4 5 speed all stock any help would be great
  19. Looks like it is coming along great. I did notice that u did have the stock tan interior in it before u changed the interior and i was wondering if u got any pieces left over from it that u are willing to sell. I am looking into the seat belts the center console that goes around the shifter and maybe a couple others things but not sure yet. If u could get back to me that would be great
  20. I did it without the window cleaner trick and it cam out great just had to line it up well
  21. Just wondering with the windshield sticker and other stickers can u spray some window cleaner down first and then put the sticker on it and the cleaner alows the sticker to be moveable or is it the kind where its one touch sticker wherte u can't use the cleaner to move it around
  22. Hey sorry about the link guys somehow i put the wrong one there when i get home from work ill post the right link for them
  23. Just got my swag on saturday can't wait to get the club decals on my truck just have to wait for the rain and snow weather to leave
  24. I have heard about there shipping. My friend had used them once and he had bad reviews about them. It took him about a month to get his package and the closes bus stop was 150 miles away. So it might save money but it seems like there service could be better. Oh and just to let u know he wasnt the one that wanted it shipped by greyhound the sender sent it that way and didnt even tell him till a week later that he shipped it by that
  25. Wow that is sick and if u get stuck u can use it to help u get out lol
