  10. This is how every how-to write up should be. thanks for posting this!
  11. Its easier to wite off a civilian working for the gov't then fire them. next to friggin impossible.
  12. Nothing like crawling under a car, wrestling with the filter, draining the oil, having a gob of baby spiders crawl out of the control arms and drop by the dozenload on your face. jesus, it still feels like they are crawling on me, and i still have to go out and put it all back together. garage kept, just that time of year i guess.
  13. yup, without chopping up the oem harness, you'll need one to go between. Just do a vehicle search at crutchfield.com. They got the exact one i needed for my 86 (which is different than all the years)
  14. Holy open new thread batman! But seriously, i used my search function... If i only have air coming out of my top defroster vent but not the other vents, than this is attributed to a vacuum line from a canister in the front bumper? just checking before i dissasemble my dash. thanks!
  15. Ok, since i lifted the carpet up and found no rust (huge sigh of relief since my last jeep was flinstones bred) i am considering soundproofing the entire interior. My main priorities are to get rid of some of the squeaks in the doors and some of the drivetrain noise. i know most proofing follows two seperate avenues... vibration, and sound. what have you all had luck with, as with anything, i don't want to spend a fortune. ive heard good things and bad things about PEEL n' SEAL from home depot. Dynamat is too dang expensive. appreciate any input. Thanks
  16. hey don't hate on us 2.8ers
  17. I know what you mean about the NW. i pulled my carpet up the other day expecting rust, and it was all original shiny paint under the carpet. woot!
  18. true story, keep the pics coming!
  19. great good to hear! electrical problems are no fun at all
  20. hey hey! i can get it to 70... i just lose a few fillings because of the vibration.
  21. i traded in my 2005 GTO for it. yeah. i miss my old manche/ but i like my new one better. i needed a winter beater and decided that i didnt feel like paying insurance anymore. 68 dollars every 6mos FTW!
  22. Looking good! i like that color
  23. The speaker install is looking good! ive been hesitant to tear down the interior to run my wiring but after seeing the low cost on that insulation, i may go grab some and do a thorough job. Thanks for the build pics!
  24. Posted in Tech section also to close my audio thread but here for Build Continuity (hope nobody minds looking twice) Image Not Found makes commuting so much less tedious Image Not Found so scared to mess up this unmolested interior I'm not sure how i want to mount the amp yet Image Not Found little 12' JL for good measure. Image Not Found Thanks for looking!
  25. That Crutchfield harness worked perfectly. It was really nice and came very well packaged. +1 for Crutchfield. Install took like 4 darn hours, had to do some minimal trimming of the cluster trim to allow the dvd drive to angle open to eject. Everything seems to work perfect though and loooks great. The stock will be easy to put back in if i so choose.
