  1. alright so i have a set of 99 xj seats from my buddies rolled xj, i know they won't bolt directly in, and i would have to swap the seat brackets. and i know people have done it with 84-96 seats, but is there any difference between the 99 seats and say a set of 96 seats? to clarify could i use the 99 seats on my mj seat brackets without a problem?
  2. i just found this and was about to put it on, when i saw yours, yea its a pretty good conversion, I like how they did the bench seat and the moldings in the back
  3. I jus started listening to them, been listening to senses fail, for a while now, my friend went to the Hollywood Undead concert here in Houston, he said it was awesome
  4. Alright I'm kinda slow at this, or just havent found the time to update. So far since I bought it back in Sep, I've changed the oil, airfilter, sparkplugs, wires and rotor, CPS, and exhaust clamp. Recently over christmas break I replaced the clutch and started on my lift. After finding out I was one of the many screwed by Rocky Road Outfitters, I took what I had started on from the lift off and came up with new ideas. Since they gave me 3 inch springs I'm going to put those on, then keep the shackles they gAve me and put a 2 inch AAL in the back which will give me a total of 3 inches, which will be fine for now until I can afford a long arm upgrade, extended brake lines and what ever else I need to complete my 6 inch lift. With the 3 inches I'm going to put my stock Ravine wheels and 31 bfg's from my tj from when it was stock. I should also be getting a bolt up Dana 44 from Crankshaftkid, once he gets the Dana 35 from Boilermaker and the right driveshaft. During the lift and clutch I was bored the other day so i got the tires I had set up for the mj and put them on (3 inch lift front 6 inch lift in the back, it rubbed in the front who wouldve guessed :dunno:) Since I hadnt bled the clutch yet i could only roll it out, no driving for me :wall: As you can see, my bed has become a storage bin for the garage :fs1:
  5. o ok because they had one that looks exactly the same long bed grey ,maroon interior. it even had a maroon camper top, weird, anyway, looking good so far, keep up the good work
  6. thanks man appreciate it
  7. ok so since i can't do my 6 inch lift just yet, i figured id stick with 3 inches, so anyone know how long I need the shocks to be? kinda don't want to buy new ones if i have a few laying around that might work
  8. :agree: x2 I unfortunaltey did get the RRO 6 inch lift really cheap on ebay, now i know why it was cheap, I recommend that you DO NOT get the lift, I did start putting it together until i figured out that I would have extend my drive shaft because they didnt give me a transfercase drop kit, they didnt give me extended brake lines for the front, for the control arms up front they gave me drop brackets in which you drill out 4 holes in each frame rail and use self tapping screws to hold them in, not something i wanted to trust. I ended up dropping it back down, used theyre 3 inch coils they gave me (wanted me to use those with 2 inch spacers on top of 1 inch spacer on top of 3 in coils for the front) for the front and theyre extended shackles and I just ordered an AAL for the rear. In total its going to give me 3 inches which is what I'm going to use for now until i can afford a long arm upgrade extended brake lines(already got 6 inch coils) Pretty much listen to someone who experenced it first hand DO NOT GET ROCKY-ROAD OUTFITTERS LIFT, good luck
  9. i think i saw it when it was still for sale did you get it from collins brothers jeeps in Wylie Tx
  10. Man that sucks about your cherokee, same thing happened to my buddies cherokee, same color and everything, but he built up another cherokee with it, almost got him to buy my comanche and build it up with his cherokee, but that didnt happen. here's the pic of it when it flipped
  11. Theyve been there for years, a hurricane isnt going to stop them, just look at florida, they get hit every year pretty much an theyre still doing pretty good as far as i know,
  12. i think ill pass, thanks anyway
  13. yea while we were driving along the beach there was a trailer that sold flags and all sorts of stuff and my friend bought that for $20, all we got were a bunch of dirty looks and a few laughs, no boobs $20 for that? G-Bus. yea i told him he couldve gotten it made for $5, but it was kinda of spare the moment type of thing i guess
  14. yea while we were driving along the beach there was a trailer that sold flags and all sorts of stuff and my friend bought that for $20, all we got were a bunch of dirty looks and a few laughs, no boobs
  15. So this weekend a couple of friends and I were bored and decided to go down to Galveston for the day. Had a pretty good time, took the tjs with the tops down the whole way and i took these pics. Some of the damage left from Hurricane Ike and some of us just foolin around.
  16. your right thats what i meant, i could extend them beyond 18 but then the threads would start to show, and i knew that wouldnt be too save
  17. awesome, thanks man, its not going to be a permanent solution, its just going to be until i can afford long arm kit, so I'm not too worried about flex right now, so i still need to get upper control arms and extended brake lines(alot cheaper than long arms at the moment) i do have drop brackets but they arent too reliable (from rocky road outfitters) also I know Rustys has a bad rep, but i heard theyve changed, don't know for sure, but anyone know if the upper control arms are any good and if they would work with this setup, or does anyone else have a cheaper solution for upper control arms
  18. from one edge of the hole that the screw goes throught to the other is 18 inches, thats the maxi would go, i can go farther but then the threads start to show
  19. alright so not wanting my comanche to sit at 3in or stock forever, (not enough for longarms yet), i did some research, and saw that some people used adjustable control arms going to the stock control arm brackets. i have a set of adjustable control arms from my tj (has a 3inch lift) would these work for my lower control arms on my comanche with 6 inch springs?
  20. thanks already did that to pull the tranny out, to replace the clutch, floorboards are perfect
  21. 1989 Jeep Comanche Pioneer, Renix Inline 6, BA/10, NP231, D30/35, Short bed Alright so Ive wanted a comanche since I first saw them, always looked for one but never found one I liked or needed to much work or was sold before I could get it. One night at my friends house he found this one and I knew this was the one. Finally after waiting a painstaking month(found it before Hurricane Ike and got it after the hurricane) I brought my 7th jeep home. Got i back in septemeber just havent had time to make one of these till now. Plans are to convert it to the 97+ look and do a 6 inch long arm lift, on 33's later stroke the motor, bestop camper top, offroad bumpers, ax15 d44 swap, possibly lift it 2 more inches later on and put 35's
  22. i don't know if its me being hungry or what but it kinda looks like peanut butter
  23. ok so i looked at motion offroads lifts and found out that the lift that i want costs as much as my truck, and used pretty much the same stuff i already have. so i figured what I'm going to do is sell my drop brackets and save up for a long arm kit and put it all together at once, and for now I'm going to use my extended shackles and spacers to have 2 inches and put my old 31's from my tj on there
  24. SCARY! Please don't put that on your Jeep! no i didnt plan on it, i ordered 6.5 springs to put them in ok so after looking around on 4x4groupbuy i only found rubicon express and rough country, any other companies besides rustys make lifts, and what do you guys think would be the best to go with?
