long time CC member, yet never a comanche owner myself. There have been quite a few "almost's". I have owned a '47 cj2a, a '67(?) cj6, and drove a '00 WJ for 4 years, which is currently in the process of being handed down to another driver. anyway, found this little guy local, and would like to know what you guys think: http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad ... h=comanche yes its rough, but the price seems to be right. needs a muffler, and prob a good tune up. its a perfect candidate for my d44/d60 combo that i have taking up space in the garage. :wrench:

I'm looking for a cheap MJ in or around SLC, UT. Id prefer a short bed 4.0 auto, but i can't be picky. cheap is the key word here

ooh. yea i can see that being an issue -
has anyone bolted a set of JK rims onto their MJ yet?? theyre a larger rim (17s i think). I'm interested in the JK Rubicon rims in particular, since the TJ Rubicon rims look so good on XJs/MJs

hey $500MJ, not to change the topic, but what lift do you have under that rig?? its got a perfect stance if you ask me, and its great to see that it gets used. and whats the roll bar out of?? -
I'm pretty sure its uni. idk what its got for a drivetrain, but as far as i can tell from pictures, the rear section is the exact same as the first generation boxy cherokee with the squared off taillights and 'sharp' corners
-
so who's gonna be the first kid on the block with the front clip off of a 2500 on their MJ??
-
theres a few pictures of one if you do a google image search for 'Jeep Comanche RC'

theres one down on the CT shore that I'm gonna look at within the next few days if its still available, but its too far to get my mechanic down there, and i bet that i won't be able to bring it all the way back up here for him to check it out (springfield ma). one of my friends whos into rovers might come along to help out, since hes a bit more mechanically inclined than i am. but thanks for the help guys, its definetly opening my eyes as to what i should look for. keep em comin!!
-
so I'm lookin for a comanche, and ive come along a few. but I'm not sure what i should really be looking for. i know to ask about miles, rust spots, drivetrain, replaced parts, etc, but what are some trouble spots that comanches might have that i should ask about?? what are some signs of 'bad things to come' that i might be able to identify?? in particular, problems to the 4.0, AW4, the transfer case, and maybe even the axles. can you tell I'm kinda new to this?? :???:

my next MJ project, this time a street truck
johnny quest replied to BrettM's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
you should swap in post '97 body panels and put in on some Moab rims. it'll be trick to those who know what there lookin at, as well as modern and clean to everyone else. maybe even put in the post '97 dash cluster to complete it. and don't do anything crazy with the paint, maybe even stick with a fresh coat of a stock Jeep color. just my $0.02 -
yea I'm lookin for something that wouldve come on a comanche straight from the factory. even pictures would help...
-
does anyone know of a site that would have all the different comanche paint scemes?? i'm wondering what colors the comanches came stock with, and what decal sets were available. thanks
