  1. no reserve? wow. this could get exciting
  2. thanks! I'm ready for a cage. ive been risking it for too long. i don't plan on using it (nobody usually does), but its nice to know that its there in case something happens. id like to run some of the crazier trails down south that have a bit more of a risk of rollover.
  3. Id chose a different engine. the rest is very tasteful.
  4. I'm almost there, minus the rear 4link...
  5. http://www.ksl.com/auto/listing/2280644?ad_cid=2 350/700r4/241OR on 35s
  6. This is what i'm going for. I don't want this to turn into a wish list for your current rig, (I wish i had wipers that wipe and blinkers that blink, blah blah blah) I'm talking ultimate dream truck status.
  7. 5 months late is better than never, right? Time for an update. Been out on numerous wheeling trips; been to Moab, been out a handful of times on local trails, and a few drives to work. All in all, its been performing awesome. Hydro assist is in and after a few bugs, and a replacement steering pump, steering is super easy and doesnt feel too 'floaty' at speed. I've had the Chief at speeds up to 70mph on 40s (GPS certified) without issue. I probably won't do that too often, but its reassuring that i know i can. eventually, id like to do some longer trips in it. Currently, its sitting next to my house without an interior. I stripped the entire dash out, along with the heater core and most of the wiring, in order to make more room for an internal roll cage. I picked up around 100' of 1.75x.210 wall DOM a few weeks back, just need to pick up some 2x6 for the rocker replacements and it should be time to bend some tube! Just gonna have a simple flat dash with minimal gauges after that. IN other Jeep related news, we sold out beloved '01 TJ affectionately known as Jackson. He was with us for 4 years (?) but with just 2 doors, he was too compact for us. So we let him go off to a girl in Washington State, and we picked up a brand new 2015 JKU, which has since been named 'Walter", since hes all white, get it? so far, hes stock, but will soon be on 35s with some other mild mods. He's my wife's daily, so we don't want to go too crazy just yet...... anyway, pics!!
  8. we've all sat around BS'n before, saying "one day, i'll _________ to a Comanche..." anything from a full restoration to a full blown trophy truck build to whatever, whats your 'someday' build? to start, mine would me a true SRT-MJ. Take the drivetrain out of a WK SRT, and swap them into a clean MJ donor. Clean original exterior and interior, but packs a punch off the line, and drives like a dream. I'd keep the AWD system, aiming to build the truck that Jeep should've built to compete with the GMC Cyclone.
  9. id like to see how they did the conversion
  10. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1988-Jeep-Comanche-Pioneer-Standard-Cab-Pickup-2-Door-4-0L-/291497668239?_trksid=p2054897.l4275 buddy of mine sent me this link, and said he just purchased another vehicle from this seller. he's asking around $5k for it "1988 Jeep Comanche, 6 cyl. 4.0 litre engine 5 speed transmission, 2 WD short bed in very good condition! I am the original owner and bought it in Ohio and it has been in Colorado since 1993. All original! Runs and drives like new! 195,446 miles on truck and 2000 since newly rebuilt engine. New alternator, starter, radiator, clutch, windshield, shocks and new Goodyear Wranglers. Duraliner bed liner installed when new. Sheet metal all excellent except for the 3 areas I already mentioned. An excellent truck to restore or drive!"
  11. nice! clean Olympic MJ
  12. since Nick (dirteatr717) seems to be being shy about it, ill post this up. Not only is his sick MJ in CRAWL Mag, he got himself a two page spread! BOOM congrats brother!
  13. on 40's at 5.5" over stock. 23.5" ground to 'frame'
  14. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time during the Dirt Riot Race at BFE on big Saturday. I won't go into details, but alot of people were there immeditaly, many first responders. He was in the best hands. I have heard nothing but incredible things about him. We need more people like him on the trails. RIP
  15. please excuse the weird framing
  16. Not much has happened since the last post; the UCA mount got rebuilt with more gussetting, and a new floor was rebuilt as well, not pic worthy. Other than that, The Chief has been on a few quick trips to the local dirt lot for a quick fix of wheelin, but no big trips. I'll hopefully be goin out this sunday with my local wheelin club. also, hydro assist is on the way. i'm really hoping to have that and my hi-steer ready for Car Show weekend in Moab at the end of April. What about EJS you ask? probably not gonna happen this year. Too much doing on, and with the hydro assist not together, it probably best to sit this one out; i got into some sketchy situations last trip (Thanksgiving) when I needed to go one way, but the Chief just wanted to go another. turns out that aired down 40's on red rock smoke the stock pump and box pretty quickly.
  17. somebody jump on this!! http://rockies.craigslist.org/cto/4939860253.html
  18. "...so keep your jealous comments to yourself!" oh the fail is strong with this one....
  19. its alot more JK than just that. the whole interior is based of a jk, the cab is a heavily modded JK tub and windshield. even the frame was mostly JK
