All mine had the three spoke from factory. They were X and XLS models. Never had a custom. Maybe an upgrade? -

So there were two styles in 86 for steering wheel? Cool. Never knew. -
@cruiser54 just in curiosity what would ballpark shipping be on a set like that? If the op doesn't need them I might be interested.

Something I don't get. Were there two steering wheel styles in 86? That one looks different to what I got in my trucks. -
I ran 33" on 4.10 in my TJ 4.0l 3speed auto (no od) it was a thirsty dog. But then running 285/75/16/12.5 (33.5?) Old heavy mud kings on my 2.5l 4speed 3.55gear stick MJ was actually much better. I think it's got a lot to do with your entire setup more than just gears.

Thanks @Herc. I'll be going that route. Started to rebuild the rear end. I'm one lucky gal. The pinion race is immaculate so in goes a traclok set for round two.

Chrysler Vin Check - Jy Find - Is Everything I Know A Lie!?

I recall lsd delete on my 99 build sheet. -
Just thought I'd share. Been in contact with Zack from zmjeeps. If one wanted to order a specific side it needs be specified in the comments of the order. So if one wanted both sides two would be ordered and specified in comments that it is for left and right. Also freight ship is cheaper when ordering more than one. I'm seriously looking into it. Hoping to get a quote to Toronto as the freight co they use has a depot here. He's been very helpful and quick to comminucate via e-mail.

There's a fine line between own and owned. Own 1.5 owned about 5-6.

Back in the days when the MJ was in it's prime the school bus drove past one every day..... every day taunting me. Then over 20 years later when I finally had my own toy money kijiji helped me find mine.
-
really? I got xj leafs no issue in mine. MJ leafs are 57" & XJ's are 52". Didn't you post about just buying your MJ and the lift being all jacked around on it? If XJ leafs bolt-on I would say so.... It started with a 4.5" lift set for an xj/mj before the mystery pack went in. which occurred at a time I thought I was paying someone to do something legit (soa plus axle swap) then had to repo it from them to find they swapped it for that bastard-pack mess (aka stole my new springs). It's too long a story to get into. The OEM rear shackles are 1-2" longer than stock xj which helps reduce the variance. And is a nice bonus to boost ones xj cheaply.
-
Odd cause I'm sure we put in an xj lift kit and it sat level. I know the shackles are different though.

Good score! For the record I'm one of those funny people who will add stickers that don't belong. I stripped an up country xj for parts to go in my TJ and with that the sticker. -
Check the scrapper or general jeep forum classifieds...... mildly lifted xjs often end up getting parted for cheap
-
You can even get used xj lifts super cheap
-
I think I might need some of these. Anyone used them yet? I heard they are just the lengths no corners so where do they start and stop?
-
That's what I figured. A legitimate component swap like swapping wiper motors and windshields on YJs never had issues...... did they? I rather be as legit as legit can be. I just need to figure hire to pop those rivets without too much damage
-
I just don't want to re-safety my truck again
-
Buy used ones from a farmer or construction co kubota 4x4 IIRC then slap onto 16" steel rims. They won't be listed as 33" that's just what they measured to.
-
Here's what too much lift looks like (6.5" front 8" rear). It's on 285/75/16 in the pic..... ignore the driveshaft hanging out. I'm dropping it back down to 3.5-4.5". The bed becomes useless (too hard to get the toys in) beyond this height. Don't have a pic of that but it was my favorite. ....And for giggles this is my old beast sporting 12" on 33" implement tires:

Any suggestions for vin transplant? Don't want to cause too much damage in the swap
-
Sold the front axle out of my donor truck then stripped all but the steering and packed it away for transplant.... Steering comes out tomorrow

Donor almost ready for transplant....
