here's a quickie. whats the biggest tire i can go with before i start rubbing? i don't make my truck do any hardcore articulations. i just drive fast on the dirt roads. i was looking at tires and the sales man said i could get away with 32" and i didn't really believe him.

so when i put my truck in gear while driving and hold down the clutch, there is a gradual grinding noise that builds up to a constant volume after about 3-5 seconds. it sounds like its comming right from my tranny. how many miles can you get out of the ax15 and the np231? wich is what i think i have. I'm asking because i just found out my friend has a comanche sitting in his driveway since he moved in and he has never seen it move and he wants to sell it. his wifes father says that all it needs is a clutch so i might pick it up if it has low km. I'm also curious why those fuel injectors are so cheap. i only need six right? my mechanic who's a good friend says that fuel injectors go for 120 each.

oh jeeze i got it backwards. i thought that the reg. gear was like 3-4 and then when you put it in low gears on the transfer case it would make it something like 2.5. and thats when i thought that because i have 3.07 i think, it would be closer to what my low range was and therefore, better for if i got a bigger tire. i only ever plan on going to a 30" though. so having the 3.07 is going to get me better gas mileage and less torque in the broad picture. :???:

smaller gears means less wheel rotations per engine rotation right? so when you get a bigger set of tires, you might consider getting smaller gears?

wicked awesome. i'll have to get my mechanic to show me how to throw these in. right now i have a combo of stock, used from another manche, and a couple new ones in there. might as well get them all on the same program. and i bought some white shoes. found out that my clutch has a slight leak. one drip per hour probably. thanks for you help guys! :bowdown:

well i guess i didn't update too well. i got lots of small stuff fixed and thought it was nunpurr untill a couple days ago it was minus 25 and when i started up 3 of my fuel injectors started leaking bad so i am wondering what to do about that. i know that the stock fuel injectors suck and catch fire. in the summer i'm going to get some toyo m55s or a similar tire along with new shocks, front coils, ball joints, and what ever steering components are worn. eventually i plan on getting a new rear axle with discs and deaver leafs and deaver front coils, and a snazzy dazzy set of shocks. switching in a newer ho engine and a newer tranny, driveshaft, and transfercase because I'm goin on 260000km. it will become a secondary vehicle so that i have something to give to my son. :cheers: in the mean time though i will probably pick up an 02 tacoma if all goes as planned for when I'm done highschool. :clapping: and my previous cars have been no where as cool as this. i had a 95 sonoma with over 2million km!!! went through almost two of everything. mostly used for road trips around the continent. i had a 90 f150 larait xlt extended cab. it was big and bulky but still took flight. then i had an 89 bronco2 wich was super fun and loved hitting jumps and deer. then i got a 98 corola that my pops is driving because he is an old fart that doesn't need a truck anymore. now i have the manche.

on the topic of interiors. i just noticed a sunroof on a comanche. cool. i'm going to look into this one. i bet if i go down to the giant automotive jy (3 in 1) i could salvage or just cut the roof off some luxury vehicle with a massive sun roof and just cut a hole in mine and weather strip that bastard in place.

:dunno: i've got burgandy, i've seen a dull blueish grey and a grey color. i've seen bright red and a bright tan too. what else is there? anyone have a black interior?

isn't there a blue one that has not quite a crew cab like those but just extended cab with b*@$£ doors in the back? i just saw pics of it in a thread not long ago.

just buy another. then you have double the truck right? i've seen a couple of those 4runner surfs and xjs that have the mid section cut out of them to look like the surfs. pretty sweet imo.

will my comanche accept these suspension parts from deaver? i hear they are pretty good. G09 CHEROKEE XJ ('84-01) 4" Rear $702.78 CSC08 84-01 Jeepspeed Front 5.5" Lift 272.56 if both of these parts are compatible, will it give my comanche a taller front end? could i get deaver to make the rears extra soft and then do soa conversion to keep it balanced front/rear? thanks.

good years comparable to the comanche ranger:83-93 bronco II:84-90 blazer:83-90 s10:82-93 i bet if jeep had continued the comanche for the same years as gm it would have undergone some wacky changes.

i whole heartidly agree. years and years before i owned a jeep i saw a comanche here and there was like "damnnnn, thats a bad @$$ little truck :eek: " i said that too and a month later i had one. i like the s10, ranger, bronco, blazer, and all those but they had more bad years than good imo.

i saw 3 comanches in the city today! no $#!&.. :cheers:
