This. Cash for Clunkers

Lol Pat, yep. I pulled and polished the fog lamps today, and had to wait for dark to realm the headlights. It's a miracle....I can see at night again! I'll post some pics tomorrow. I did draw the obligatory blood working on the fogs.

I put my change in the driver side door armrest (the little cuppy part). FYI, when that little spot is full of mixed change (full is when coins start flying out of it when you close the door), you have approximately $11 in change.

I put a set of Phillips x-tremes in today. While I had the housings out I gave them a good polish (again), and all is looking good. Just waiting for darkness to take it on a trial run to see what difference that might have.

Friggin people DIED in their cars trying to evacuate. Holy hell. prayers to all affected.

Yep, that's the bezel. The second 12v outlet is constant hot, not keyed. It's nice to plug up a cell phone charger or GPS to. I have no use for the ashtray except to keep some spare mini fuses in (which I've never had to use, lol).

Yeah, you get an official "you suck" award for that, especially for the light bar i went to to my local yard a couple weeks ago just cause I hadn't been in forever. They only had 2 KJs, but one of them was a real nice 02 (same as mine). I scored, finally, the rear glass flipper pad and the driver side door seal (mine has a small rip in it, in the same spot as they all do). Total cost was $5, lol. Pad is already installed, I'm replacing the door seal tomorrow.

My wife has a couple of them....ill ask her when she gets home. I just wear an old fashioned chest-strap sensor that monitors heartrate...it came with a wristwatch type thingy, which is too complicated for me to figure out lol. I found out by accident that the strap sends the same wireless signal that gets picked up by all the cardio equipment at my gym. I just wear the strap and the machine I'm on displays my pulse.

The difference between 1 and 2 is barely noticeable to my eyes, but I say 1 also.

Kryptonic....good luck on that XJ, I hate electrical problems LOL. That's a sharp looking XJ. I think that color is the best one they sprayed, my old neighbor had one that he babied forever. I kept asking him to sell it to me, but he wouldn't I'm looking for more of a "project" XJ to hobby around with.
-
What's wrong with the XJ, and what do you think you might be asking for it? I could be interested...... Jeff

Utilitarian, functional, and damn good looking. Yes.

I used to have an MJ.....and a TJ. Now I have a gasser KJ

Whoa....there's a name we haven't seen or heard from in forever and a day...... anyone still ill in touch with him? It would be good to hear how he's been doing.

Lol, that's not a bad idea. we don't get tons of snow here, but when we do get it we get dumped on. I totally forgot about the heat output melting snow off the lenses.....I just might stick with the nuclear-halogen option

Lol, that 2.5 issue never went away. My MJ didn't have AC, so it was easy to access #1 plug, but my 01 TJ did have AC (that I never used...). You could get the #1 plug out with the compressor in place, but it took a voodoo combination of a short plug socket that had a hex head so you could get a wrench on it to initially break the plug loose, then a universal joint and a stubby extension to unscrew the plug. Somewhere along the line you had to pull the extension off and finish unthreading it by hand....if your fingers were small enough to grip the end of the u-joint. Lord help you if you screwed the plug the whole way out and it slipped off your fingertips and wedged itself beside the compressor. After several plug removals, I just resorted to unbolt in the compressor and nudging it out of the way enough to have enough room. I was always afraid of cross threading the plug putting it back in.

Yeah, the headlight housings are crystal clear. Fog lenses, not so much....but I'm not concerned with them right now. I rarely use the fogs here.
-
^^^^oh if an XJ/MJ were so easy to work on like that.......LOL. That's so simple a technology that it's scary. What happened to vehicle engineering?

I'll admit, I was a holdout on LED's for my house for a looooong time. I finally bit, and am glad I did. All my garage lighting is LED, all the lamps in the house are, and so is my overhead ceiling light in the kitchen, plus the front floodlights on the house are all (low voltage) LED. I'm a believer. BUT, I've never driven a vehicle with LED lighting (headlights). I'm not a big fan of those pure-white headlamps I see on cars...I prefer a bit cooler temp/warmer color). You run LED's Don? Like 'em? I like the much lower power draw, and cooler bulb temps (actual temp, not color).

OK, I think I have it narrowed down to 2 different bulb replacements: Phillips X-treme 9007 Sylvania Silver Star 9007 The Phillips bulbs are cheaper, but seem to have more positive interweb reviews. The Sylvanias are alot more expensive, some claim they have a slight blue tint while others don't (I DON'T want any blue). And they seem to burn out quicker as they run a little bit hotter. Some have claimed that the S/S's were actually OEM bulbs, though......as far as I can tell, I'm still running my OEM bulbs that are now 16+ years old. Anyone have experience with either of these? Right now, I'm leaning toward the Phillips.

:popcorn emoji: Interesting, subscribed. What gears in the axles in that thang? That might help the 2.5.....

And you, good Sir, are a wiener...ER, I mean winner. Have a High Life on me, I'm buying. Lol

I'll take any good tech I can find, lol. Thanks!
