haha thanks guys!

Haha i guess its a good thing that the local pick-n-pull has a bunch of XJs huh? Hopefully some of them are over 89. Ill head over there soon and see if i can get an AX-15/NP231 combo. If I upgrade to an AX15 from a peugeot then I'm going to be switching from an external slave to and internal slave right? Or is it the other way around?

Aw man. I wish i could have gone. My friends and i are in the process of upgrading the transmission and transfer-case so i may not be wheeling for a while haha.
-
Haha yea.that would be a great thing to do. But right now I'm just looking for a cheap swap from pick-n-pull. unless i find a dana 300 there that is lol. Do you know what years they switched from a 21 spline to a 23 spline?

Hey guys. I was driving to pismo beach yesterday and on the antidisestablishmentarianism my t-case died. I was just driving down the hwy and id hear random split-second grinding noises coming from the transmission/t-case area. Unfortunatly i didnt stop and didnt worry about it and all of a sudden my rpm's went up, but my truck rolled to a stop. Gears 1st-5th wouldnt engage. Fortunatly my friend was in another truck and helped me get it off of the hwy. We found out it was the transmission when we tried putting it into 4low and it would work. Ok, on to the fun stuff. I now have a chance to upgrade my t-case. I have the np231 now. Should i keep the same t-case? Or should i upgrade to a different one? I'm also thinking about dropping the peugeot transmission too and upgrading that to a AX-15. BTW I have a 1987 4.0L I6.

Hey guys. I was fourwheeling last week out at hollsiter hills and i ended up ripping off my passenger mirror and breaking the bracket that attaches it to the body  . After i came back home i went to my local pick-n-pull to get a new one BUT, i couldnt find any of the original mirrors. I see that a number of the MJs on here have the XJ mirrors. How hard is to to switch to them? Thanks!-Ian

how to tell what rear axle I have?
SkipshotMJ replied to walander's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
to clean out all the diff oil use brake cleaner. go buy a can or two and just spray it in there and itll start getting clearer and clearer. i think it would probably be easier to just swap the axles instead of rebuilding the axle. but if you get a different one then you could risk the chance of your jeep driving like crap like pete said above. -
haha pun intended? i would have pulled it before but it looks like the whole thing is riveted in. i dunno how fun it would be to pull that out lol.
-
haha alright. ill look into fixing my parking brake. everything in the system works but the ratcheting mechanism. any ideas on how to fix it?

Would these work on an '87 Comanche? http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?partID=4496 & http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?partID=8958 I currently don't have an emergency brake and i don't really want to tear into the whole truck in order to replace the emergency brake. So i was hoping that those would work. Thanks guys!

Yea. i graduated from MHS last year. I tried to take his auto class but my damn councilor wouldn't let me. here's my truck. yea. i was screwing around in front of my house. i bet i could double that if i had to haha.

if you had an airbox you could've drilled a couple 4 in. holes below the air filter. It gives you a little bit more power and it sounds kinda cool haha. buuuut, you're gonna go through a bunh of air filters taht way.

The high alt. cps has a grey coating around the two wires that connect to the wiring harness. The federal one has a black coating. So get the grey one! And the part no.? you sure your ready for this? haha. at napa the part no. is CSS637.

Hey guys. I might be going to Hollister Hills sometime on saturday or sunday. Is anyone else gonna be there?
-
ok. so i was kidding about the losing power part. i was driving it around town a bunch today and i realized there there was a nice little improvement to the power :clapping:. WOOHOO!!!
-
Alrighty. so i finally got the cps from napa on monday and i had a friend come over and help me with replacing it today. the comanche runs perfectly now and starts when i want it to start. um. i think there is some loss in power but its barely noticeable. When my friend and i pulled the old cps it was covered in a bunch of gunk so that was probably a big factor in the cps problem. so yea. remember kids!!! always clean your cps!!! :smart: haha YEEEEAAAH. i go to cabrillo college in the fall simester and i love going to the beach for taht reason lol.
-
dude. I'm waiting for the weather to warm up so i can get back in the pool and start practicing for college water polo.

Id pull one around if you bought it for me :D
