  1. Mine used to stall on me after about 5 minutes of warming up when i went wheeling down in pismo. After i threw in a new MAP sensor it ran fine for a while and started running crappy again and it turned otu to be the CPS. so if your CPS is fine check them MAP. Good Luck!
  2. daaaaaaaaaaaamn  . that is an amazing truck. i wish mine looked like that.
  3. damn. so i just got back from napa. they had to ship the part over here from somewhere in virginia, but oh well. ill be getting it sometime on weds. anyways, i found out the difference between the grey and black wire coatings. The grey one is the high alt. cps (the one that i ordered) and the black one is the federal one. so yea! i can't wait to get it.
  4. Haha definitly. So i wasnt able to get the part today because i had to go to my emt class, but I'm going to order it in the morning and have it in by the late afternoon tomorrow or sometime saturday! Saweet!!

  8. Hey. So I'm going to replace my CPS :clapping: . The darn thing is acting up a bunch and hopefully replacing it will fix the problems (won't start+stalling at stop signs=blech  .). I just got off the phone with a guy from napa and they said they had 2 different types of the sensors. one with a black coating and one wtih a grey coating. do you know which one i need? I have a 1987 wtih a 4.0L I6 connected to a peugeot transmission. Thanx!
  9. Thanks guys. My dad decided to call up a mobile mechanic to try and press it on and he had worse luck than i did. the guy didnt even show up wtih any tools. right now the guy is out on another call and i think I'm gonna use your tips to try again.
  10. Today i was trying to put a harmonic balancer on after an old one tried to seperate. While i was pressing it on the key wouldn't stay in its little notch on the shaft :fs1: . Does anyone have a tip for keeping the key in place while pressing the balancer on? Thanks in advance.

  12. I think it will look fine. I have a 1.5 to a 2 inch lift ( i don't know for sure. the guy that owned it before me did it) and run 31s and i think it looks great. a 2 inch lift on 30s should look fine.
  13. well if you have the money ($133) and want to upgrade (possibly? i havnt heard much on it) you could throw in a "hurst roll control" brake lock. http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?partID=4496
  14. alright so i checked the oil and it looks like oil and the coolant still looks like coolant. phew. so its not a cracked head gasket. i just ran water through all of the radiator/waterpump/thermostat hoses and water came out the other end and i did the same thing wtih the radiator/waterpump/thermostat housing and water came out the other end. all the hoses seem fine too. this is driving me crazy! :fs1:
  15. Ok so. i have a problem. i recently went to hollister hills and spent a couple days there 4wheeling. my truck ran fin while i was there and for a couple days once i got back. after a couple days the truck started overheating so i took out the thermostat and replaced the fan clutch hoping those were the problems. i finally finished everything up and took it for a test drive today but it started overheating about a half a mile from my house so i pulled into a 7-11 to check it out and now it won't start. i am stumped and i don't know what to do. i replaced the water pump a couple months ago and there is plent of water and coolant in the system. can you give me some suggestions?
