  1. The windows that I want in my truck are ones from like a 98 Xj. It is the windows that are full, they don't have the wing windows on it. Just needed to know if it would be easier to swap out windows and tracks, or just swap out the doors. Thanks
  2. That is awesome . Now all it needs is so off road lights. :laughin: Lol . Goes to show you can never be too young to own a jeep!
  3. Thats why it sounded like a coffee grinder This is the new one installed (See how it is the only thing shiny under the hood?) And look at at the miles it had right when the alternator went out.
  4. Thanks. I have a Gremlin X too its a 73. Right now there is nothing in the AMX(Its my mothers), If I'm correct, it had a 390 stock. But with all the engines we have, the 304 is going in my Gremlin the 401 we are going to put in the Javelin and in the AMX who knows what will go in there.
  5. Finally got the new radiator and fan shroud ordered, that will be installed later this week.
  6. How much do those run?? The cobra all in one. I do like the shelf that Pete had, but can't find one anywhere.
  7. Does your shifter hit the CB when you shift?
  8. I have just been trying to get ideas of where people have placed there CBs. If some people could show what they have done, It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  9. Its just trying to decide which project I want to work on first.
  10. Sounds to me like some bad wiring.
  11. I know what you mean just very time consuming.
  12. I haven't checked the bolts or the hoses, but i will look. I did replace the spark plugs but am planning to buy new wires and a cap soon.
  13. I don't know about you guys but some times do you think that you can have to many projects? Just wondering if anyone else is loaded down with a lot of projects. Its just a hard time trying to decide which one to work on first.
  14. Mine dosent have an electrical fan. And ill have to look at the coolant sensor
  15. When I start my truck in the morning or in the cold it starts up but you have to give it some gas in order for it to not die. Also the transmission is also harder to shift when it has been sitting or is cold, but when it warms up, its fine. Just trying to see if i can just easily fix this or not. Thanks
  16. Got the new alternator in, ill put pics up soon. Its the only shiny thing under the hood :laughin: I have way to many projects now :D got another but this one is pretty important. Still gonna work on the MJ though its gonna be slow getting parts for it. It needs a lot more love (And me and this car go back aways)
  17. Yeah, its a real bummer. I keep on wanting to get aftermarket stuff for it but with me trying to find a job, and constanly replacing parts. I only can doe some of that a little at a time. Hopefullt I get a job soon :crossfingers: Because when i get what i want on this, I'm going to see if i can get my parents 68 AMX to fix up(I love AMCs) but your not always done with a project. even though you think you are.
  18. If I remeber corecctly, there was a few around my area. I even remeber seeing one that was an old mail jeep and it was a right hand drive. Never seen an XJ right side driver, but look on Cragslist (Althought there are some worthless ones on there form bad Previous Owners) . I'm on there a lot and if I see anything a long those lines, ill let you know or if i see one in town for sale.
  19. Truck is at 229,999 miles, then the alternator bearings go out. Now it sounds like a coffee grinder :fs1: and I'm stuck driving a Nissan
  20. It was bad on the roads today, almost got blown off the road 4 or 5 times fightin the wind and snow and ice, and stupid people that think their invincible in this weather. What happened to spring? Just the other day it was hot enough for me to wash and wax my truck.
  21. That kind of depends on the use of the MJ, like if it is going to be a daily driver or project, or maybe both. but these are the things id look for: If its a Daily driver look/check for Rust (floorboards, rocker panels, body damage etc) Lights, at least make sure that the electrical works, light bulbs are easily replaced Gauges believe me, you want your fuel gauge and spedometer Clutch/Transmission, make sure the clutch actually works(If its a standard), and that all gears work properly Check under the hood, see if they have torn the crap out of it or if it was well maintained. Basically in the end, if you see or know whats wrong with it and you believe you can put the money into it to get it the way you want it, thats your choice. But if you don't think that its something worth dealing with, I wouldn't mess with it. But if you do find the one, good luck and have fun, they are good trucks!!!! . :MJ 1: .
  22. Thanks, its a good truck (other than when it decides to break parts) but thats because of a bad Previous owners workmanship. :thwak: :fs1:
  23. Ill have to check it out someday, nothin really big just wanted to know. Thanks
  24. Ok so ever since i bought my MJ it has done this, once i hit 65 mph, it starts to bobb up and down. Its like its trying to say you are somewhere in this general area of speed. Its not really a immediate fix, but just for when i get to it, (Someday)
